I stopped for gas and paid for a bag of ice since I was on my way to a family gathering. Itʻs the kind of place where thereʻs a cooler outside you get the ice for yourself after you pay. So I paid, opened the cooler and reached in for a bag of ice, put it in my trunk and waited for the pump to finish.All of a sudden, 2 men from the gas station rushed out calling me a thief. I was totally confused. They were both apathetic and present at the counter when I paid for the ice; I used my credit card at the pump. What did I steal?They said I stole the ice. I showed them my receipt and opened my trunk to show them the one bag of ice. They pointed at the one bag I was holding and said I had taken three bags of ice. I was thoroughly confused.Amid their overlapping yelling, I managed to decipher that in the iced over, opaque bag of ice in my hand - there were three separate bags of ice. So I opened it and gave them the two extra bags. Why they hadnʻt opened the packages themselves before putting them in the cooler is beyond me; all the bags of ice in the cooler were the same size of bag I had taken. How is a customer supposed to know to open a sealed product and remove a portion of it?The two men told me I needed to leave immediately and I replied Iʻd leave after my tank was filled. They stood there mumbling and pointing at me until I left.Weird, creepy, angry spot - avoid at all costs.
