Easter Challah was so delicious. The orange baked in the bread gave it the perfect flavor for french toast. More subtle than a panettone. Made for a wonderful brunch.

Heaven in Sonoma county. Run to get their delicious bread and baked goods. I can't recommend it more. Always a treat and wonderful.

For a cubbyhole of a place the artistry is not lost. Never judge a book by its cover as you approach the front door. What awaits you inside is pure bliss. Their bread/pastries are to die for... Enjoy your visit to wine country; but, make sure you don't miss this stop for a treat. Also; look up the local creamery from which we discovered Nightingale ( Bohemian Creamery)

Whole grain breads, baked fresh and perfectly sliced to make the best sandwiches. We also love Forestville French bread for special dinners and the chocolate thimbles for dessert.

Sourdough nothing to write home about, I've had much better. The rosemary potato rolls for Thanksgiving were dry and basically tasteless. Try Goguette Bakery on Montgomery for some fabulous authentic breads. It's worth standing in line!

No wonder there is a line around the block when Nightingale opens up. From their amazing batards, focaccia and sliced options you will be in bread heaven. If it's pastries you are into you won't be disappointed there. Award winning scones or cinnamon rolls will have you going back for more, like I do! Lots to choose from!

My favorite bakery in West County, and that's saying a lot given how many talented bakers we have in the area. Always get their daily baguette sandwich, especially if it had seasonal jam and cheese.

I really wanted to love this place and was excited to finally try after years of driving by. Really wanted to become a regular local customer. I am majorly disappointed. I put in an order ahead of time bc I've seen lines and wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna miss out. I ordered the sesame epi, pizza dough, the baklava inspired cinnamon roll, regular cinnamon roll and at pickup saw that they had a plain cinnamon roll so picked one up. The epi was good, but super chewy. Did not taste as oven fresh as I expected. The cinnamon rolls were on the dry side for me. Tasted a bit more moist slightly heated up. The baklava flavors were there with a slight hint of zest. Unfortunately, I did not get to taste the traditional cinnamon roll bc I got two of the baklava inspired. Don't know how that got messed up! . Haven't baked the pizza dough so I hope leaving to next day will still be good. I deducted a star for poor customer service from the woman who was working the front (red curl hair). Upon walk in I didn't get a hello or much acknowledgment. I let it slide, but after being rung up, I said thank you and didn't get a thank you back. I'm only hyper sensitive bc the customer prior to me and after me were both greeted.

The little town of Forestville, California has a very little bakery, called Nightingale breads. We were staying in Sonoma and drove for pizza at the Sonoma pizza company. I am a bread freak, and I saw this little place so I went in. The most amazing breads I have ever had. They also did scones which were amazing as well. I had the most amazing pecan cherry baguette that I have ever stuck in my face. It was their special bread of the day. I went back the next day to get more only bummer thing was they had a different special. So I bought two loaves of the new special which was excellent as well along with four scones and a couple of cookies. If you are within 50 miles of this place, it is worth it to drive to Forestville. The only bummer thing for me is it is not closer as I live in Michigan. There was a line out the door both times I went. It’s worth the wait. I can say nothing else except go go go.

Not the cheapest place around, but our go-to bakery for delicious, fresh, wood fired loaves. Every variety is excellent; our favorites are the sourdough bastardized and the seeded wheat. Their specialty breads are also excellent. Highly recommended.

Nightingale opens 11am on the weekend so I got there a few mins before they opened and lined up. A cute lil bakery in downtown Forestville, plenty of street parking. They still only allow 2 people in at a time. I ordered a lime cheesecake, a chocolate cookie, a large french bread, and 2 thimbles and came to over $40. Definitely pricey! I would suggest ordering the smaller french bread if you cant finish the large one in a day. I tried to eat the other half the next day and it was as hard as a rock. The lime cheesecake however surprised me! It was delicious. It was the only flavor they had when I was there but according to their menu they sometimes have lemon and passion fruit. Worth a stop! Its only a 3 min drive down from Mom's Pies.

Wow this little town does everything right! The bread offerings here are awesome. Its a daily menu that changes. If you wait till too late in the day the selection won't be that plentiful.
