The office workers and vet are slime creatures. They don't deserve to be called humans, much less work on fine animals that require the best of care by the best of humans. They are rude, unfriendly, despicable, but they think they are high and mighty.

Dr Chaves has been taken care of our dogs for ages. This last time Heidi had 18 teeth removed and now she plays again. Flea meds and heartworm medicine and regular checkups. Email notices for many questions saves everyone time and money. Well-dog checkups for our bunch can be a job. One of our dogs is bitey and Shannon comes out with a muzzle fully prepared for the BRAT-DOG. We will be taking our fur-babies to him for a long time. The flea meds for the other dogs I can phone in and pay for and family can pick up as I travel several states for my job.

Absolutely wonderful. They had all of the people bringing in their pets stay in their cars. When they were ready to take the pet inside, a masked vet tech came out to bring them in (owners were required to stay outside).I assume that this was for COVID reasons, but I honestly hope they keep this system forever. Our cat was super chill going and coming, and I think it is in large part because the dogs and other cats were in other cars. When the appointment was done, the vet who had seen him came out to our car and explained everything clearly and followed up with an email that has all of the details.I understand why they can't accept new patients, and anyone who can work with them should be very grateful. I know we are.

The few negative reviews here don't understand the vet situation here in Fort Bragg. Due to the retirement/relocation etc. of a few local vets no vets that I know of are taking new patients. If you want to help, encourage a vet to move to this beautiful dog-friendly place. Dr. Chaves is a great vet who goes above and beyond. He deserves to be honored and praised, not trashed.

When you call you get an answering machine telling you they are not taking new clients and come across rude.

Not from this area. My dog got injured, they would not help. Told to go out of area for help, like Santa Rosa, CA.

Dr. Chaves is the most caring, skilled, knowledgeable, and gentle vet we have ever encountered. He helped us so gracefully through a difficult time with our dog. Thank you to everyone at Covington Creek for all your support!

This place has not only treated my animals poorly but this establishment has also made it very clear they do not have a heart for those of us that have issues in life like domestic violence they DO NOT care about anyone.

I appreciate the clear/consistently followed procedures. I was initially concerned I couldn't be with my pet during her examination but I received a thorough briefing following Missy's appointment followed up with a point by point email of our discussion including links to the topics for clarification, in support of recommendations.

The other negative reviews definitely make sense. Camping up in Ft Bragg and our pup wouldn't stop scratching in her ear. Was hoping to have them take a quick look just to see if it was something serious, like a tick, or perhaps all was well, allergy, and we could just have her checked out once home. Arrived 30 minutes before they opened and was told by a team member, as she was setting up, that because I was not a current client that there was nothing they could do. I asked whether the vet could take a peek in her ear really quick, I'd pay whatever for the 5 minute peek. AgaIn was told there was nothing they could do. Coming from a family of Vets, I assure you they'd all have taken a few quick minutes to take a peek. Sad that peeking outside the box was such a stretch for them.
