Nice enough guy. The shop did a head gasket on a vehicle I purchased and it’s gone bad in 40,000 miles. But now he says he won’t work on the vehicle anymore because it’s “too old” I don’t see the head resurfacing In any of the documents.. why was that not done? So now I’m forced to pay 2k for it to be redone…

Trevor does a careful and thoughtful job working on your engine/car. He keeps it running in top performance. He's worth every penny. You're lucky to get an appointment with him.

I have been happily bringing my elderly Volkswagen to Trevor for several years. He resurrected it and helps maintain it so it runs like the well engineered machine it is. He keeps me from needing to run out and spend thousands on a newer car. He understands my priorities and thoroughly explains what's needed, why, and when. My service costs have decreased as I've allowed him to do the recommended repairs to keep the car running optimally. If you want your car to last, bring it here.

Trevor is meticulous and methodical in providing preventative care. I own an older Volvo wagon and wanted to keep it for my limited driving. He evaluated it, provided service and explained that at 100,000 miles I needed to get a new timing belt if I wished to keep it. In replacing the belt, he caught some problems up the line. His work was careful and, in my opinion, not excessively expensive. The engine purrs now. I understand that MCE is very very busy and that Trevor is wanting to transition into working with newer cars. I am grateful that he had the time to do this major work on this older car; I lucked out.

If you can ever get this guy on the phone (which I doubt) he will act like he is too busy to ever help you. Also his quotes were outrageous. Took my car over the hill to Ukiah and saved money and time. Yeah I doubt you remember any of the would be customers you dont make the time of day for. Good to know you have enough spare time to write snooty holier than thou responses to your negative reviews though.

Recently went to Mendocino for a short weekend trip and had some unwelcome car problems. Thought I would be stranded and started panicking.Luckily, I found MCE and Trevor spent less than 30mins to figure out the minor problem and fixed it.It wasn't anything major but Trevor went out of his way and his busy day to help out a person in need. Thanks again.

I cannot thank Trevor enough for his help in a tight situation. I had just purchased an older BMW 2002 model in Oregon and while stopping in Fort Bragg, it would not start. I was told by the AAA mechanic and other "experts" that I'd need a new alternator or regulator at the minimum.I was fortunate enough to be only a block from MCE and Trevor was kind enough to quickly diagnose my problem first thing in the morning even though he was backed up 6 weeks. It took him only a few minutes to figure out that the issue was not a bad alternator or regulator, but simply the alternator bulb in the dash that needed replacing! He charged my battery to full and topped off my brake fluid. I was able to drive to Sacramento without issue. It is very rare to find an honest and genuinely well-meaning person these days, especially in the auto repair industry. Trevor truly cared about my predicament and helped me as a traveller in need. Not only that, but he saved me money by only working on what was needed. He is one of the few mechanics who has the deep knowledge to diagnose nuanced issues. You are in good hands with Trevor and MCE!Thanks again!

I stopped in Mendocino while on a road trip to Arcata, and my BMW X1 started acting weird. They diagnosed it as a faulty O2 sensor, but I was unable to find a rental car in town, so I couldn't leave it with them. They advised me to double back to Santa Rosa to leave it with the local BMW dealer (BMW dealer confirmed that it was indeed the O2 sensor and they repaired the car) and then rent in Santa Rosa to complete my trip. Didn't charge me for the diagnostics. Wow. Super cool. Thank you!!

Top notch shop, a pleasure to do business with them. They took care of my broken Mercedes starter right away even though they were already fully booked. It seemed to me that the owner had a sense of duty as the authority on European cars to help out anyone in trouble. Very clean shop, great communication, reasonably priced, competent.

After moving to Fort Bragg last year, we needed to get a service for our BMW 330ci. We did some searching around, and found MCE to have good reviews. That being the case, we booked our appointment and dropped off the car. When we came to pick it up the next day, we were SHOCKED by the cost of the work. We had this car serviced regularly in Marin for years, and never were the bills even close to as expensive. Additionally, the owner, Trevor attempted to "scare" my wife into believing that she needed to have several additional repairs that they had found. What a Joke! When I called the very successful shop we used to take our cars to in Marin, and told the owner not only the cost of the service, but the other things that were described as "dangerous" by Trevor, he just laughed and told me we got robbed. He also and said that shops like this give his industry a bad name. Needless to say, we have not returned, and have also shared our experience with several others who have asked about auto repairs/service.
