What. A. Shyster. After a seriously hellish year (well beyond just Covid), I wanted to spend my last dollars on a treat for myself. I asked the shop owner to point out the “natural, un-dyed” turquoise beads with the high price on the tag. I happily paid PLENTY for them. They promptly turned white, while my skin turned turquoise.Rubaiyat: We are all struggling to survive the pandemic, but ripping people off won’t keep you in business. YOU know dyed howlite from turquoise, YOU put the price on the tag, and YOU did it all intentionally. I’d been out of work for a year when you stole from me. Tourists should be your lifeblood, not your victims.Shame on you.

Man what a cool little shop! The owner was very friendly and very pleasant to talk to! Found some really cool beads at the shop. The shop is not very big but it has a very good vibe.

Cute bead shop with random tarot and fairy cards , a selection of incense and some fun scarfs and hats from Tibet,China,Korea ,South America,Asia and the USA We met the owner Ruby who was very pleasant and visited with us.she told us she was recovering from chemotherapy and was having s hard time . Some of the items were cheap and chin-sty compared to similar bead stores or world markets I've visited others were unique and beautiful . I purchased a scarf for $20 and a triple wrap bracelet for $13 my friend found a turtle beads and jade beads and a strand of turquoise ones

Never before have we left a shop because of the proprietor, and I guess there is a first for everything. He unlocked the door for us (there was a recent nearby robbery I guess?) and I made a substantial purchase. All the while I browsed he made me feel like he was waiting for me to pop something in my purse. The beads are in large, bulky strands, so that would have taken Houdini. AND, I would like to loudly proclaim I stole a ring from Macy's when I was five, and have been mortified by the emotional aftermath. Never again, and I am over sixty years of age. Alas, I stray from the experience. I wanted, and purchased some pretty pricey and lovely beads. After we left, my daughter finally received the pictures I had sent her, indicated which ones she liked, so we returned to the store. Other browsers were there so the door was unlocked, but the owner refused to let me near the beads my daughter had picked out unless I placed my purse on the floor of the store away form the bead wall I wanted to approach. Hello???? I asked him if he was kidding,he said my husband could carry it. I looked at him in disbelief, and promptly left. He lost out on a second, even larger purchase. I was amazed.

Ruby and her husband who own & work at these two shops are wonderful people, who bring a wide variety of beads, findings, rugs and more to the Mendocino Coast.

I was shocked to receive such strange behavior from the male owner of this store. They do not list store hours, only "open daily," on their website, so I called and Ruby, the female owner, said she'd open up for me as they were closed on the day I came through town. The male owner opened up for me and and I thanked him very much for making the appointment. He then proceeded to be extremely hostile and then, within a couple minutes, asked me if I was wasting his time, if I was going to buy something or not. This does not appear to be a professional business. I would not recommend it. To boot, it is a cramped space, with no prices (or none I could see before he kicked me out). Their website seems to talk them up, but the tiny store and obviously the service I received left much to be desired.

Great selection of semi precious stones and beads! I really enjoy shopping at both stores (Mendocino and Fort Bragg.) I live in the Sacramento area and have been a customer for approximately five years. Ruby and Dawa are wonderful people and are always more than helpful. In addition, they have always given me great discounts and I will be a lifetime customer! I truely look forward to doing business with them again. Thank you Ruby and Dawa!! Sincerly, Lila
