Pay no attention to the posted hours here on Yelp. The store changed their hours 10 MONTHS AGO and didn't bother to update on the internet. Hours are 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM. I arrived shortly after midnight and was well into the store with my cart when a guy yelled at me "WE'RE CLOSED!" I usually avoid this store and only went in because I checked Yelp and saw they were supposedly open.

I love going there because I can find all I need and the people who work there are very nice and helpful and friendly. I always come out with a smile.

I live within walking distance, so I want to like this place but it's not easy. I went with my boyfriend to get some Chinese food and as I was telling them which dishes I wanted, my boyfriend saw the guy behind the counter grab a tray with food in it and he started putting my chow mein and chicken in it! He said something about the dirty tray and the guy behind the counter said it was still good and there was no problem! He rolled his eyes when he should have been very apologetic. We decided to leave and skip the deli/Chinese food. We told management and they offered us a refund, but when we advised that we didn't buy any of the food, the lady just said "oh ok, that's gross!" So we left. Yikes!!!

The manager Cory at our local Safeway is the most useless individual! asking for help for customer service he tells you there's nothing he can do. he treats employees like dirt and is useless

Not sure why the low ratings on here. My girlfriend and I were in Mendocino for Thanksgiving from the Bay Area. We loved the nature up in the area yet compared to the Bay Area it was a bit of a food desert with expensive food and lack of vegan options. We looked all over Fort Bragg for a restaurant open on Thanksgiving with reliable vegan options. One Italian restaurant served pasta with veggies for a whopping $38 per dish. We decided to take things into our own hands going to Safeway. We arrived 10 minutes before they would be closing. We got salad, olive oil, lemon, whole wheat pasta, marinara sauce, and broccoli to make a nourishing humble Thanksgiving dinner at our Airbnb. Having picked up supplies at Safeway we had a memorable Thanksgiving meal.

Great hours, mostly everything I want in stock, reward system, contactless online order pick up available. Can't ask for more from a grocery store in a small rural, occasionally touristy town. The deli is my husbands new sandwich place but it's also a hit or miss depending on who is in charge of the sandwich. The dry humor Asian looking guy makes the sandwiches the best. Yes the lines can get crazy.... It's really a hit or miss. Some customers still use check to pay! But most the employees have always been so nice, and I've always gotten good service at the desk for any mis-charges. Favorite purchases: $2.15 for English muffin bread loaf, 88¢/lb of pork once in awhile, BOGO frozen shrimp, frozen okra (my fav!), chayote, and decent Asian stuff when I'm in a pinch.

The store was stocked and everyone was nice but the lines are horrendous. I had to wait almost 20min just to buy a bottle of wine..

This is a smaller Safeway compared to others I have seen in California. They still have quite a lot and I was able to find cheese to go with the leftover wine though not a corkscrew and no glasses. The store is a bit older and in need of a refresh. They still have deli, produce, frozen, meat and fish counters. The self-checkout worked just fine. I did notice that there was at least one RV parked in the lot overnight. I'm not sure if that's allowed but I didn't try. [Review 17621 overall - 411 in California - 1140 of 2022.]

The gentleman that was in charge of the self check out area was pretty f****** rude!! Coming from LA he expected us to know what time the self checkout registers close at. It was easy for me to tell him that we can't mine read considering we're coming from Los Angeles how are we to know these things out here....

Don't buy party supplies here! I have always been able to return packaged produce and sliced cheese at other supermarkets as long as the product was still fresh and sealed, and it was within 24 -48 hours. This store will not take it back, even though they can easily resell it and it was kept continuously refrigerated and I bought it last night. No wonder people no longer want to buy locally. Businesses like this discourage patronage.

I signed up for the $99 per year new pass. The first order was delivered as expected. They followed my instructions, "do not substitute," and did not substitute or leave out things, saying out of stock. The second time I ordered, they didn't follow my instructions. They substituted, and they didn't have the right count. I called, but the representative was pleasant, so I didn't even take the refund back for the items they substituted. The third time, today, they delivered only two cases of water bottles, which cost me $17.00!! I ordered four organic red apples, two organic plums, one organic cantaloupe, and cat food. I called customer service and spoke to Felix, who kept saying he couldn't do anything. It's the store that doesn't fulfill the order because they are out of stock. Really? I can understand cat food, but the rest? I was there three days ago, and there were plenty of organic items I ordered today. He became rude when I was upset. He said he could credit $10.00 to my online delivery account. I said I don't want the credit, and I wanted it back on my credit card. He said he couldn't do it. I asked to speak to someone higher up and was told there is no higher up. Really? Irresponsible answer. I said I wanted to complain about the service and him. He reluctantly filled out the form and said a supervisor would call you back. Before I hung up, I checked to make sure that the $10.00 credit still went back to my online delivery account. Sure enough, he replied I took it off because you said you don't want it. Cheeky! Don't fall for this $10 credit to try out their Fresh Pass service. It's a joke.

Quality/Quantity - Consistent. Atmosphere - Drive up & go grocery pickup - they redid the cart entrance to accommodate this new system. Plenty of parking Open 24 hours. Wells Fargo Bank in this location. Pharmacy, bakery, deli, propane, bakery, floral, produce, meat, seafood, western union, redbox, etc. Service - Our cashier just got lectured for taking a long break, so she took her frustrations out on the customers... Price - More expensive than our local Safeways, maybe there is no competition here? Or this location caters to tourists? Of course, I am referring to the local beer, see pictures. Owner Info - Congrats on your success since 1915 with your 904 locations in 17 states. In 2015, Albertsons purchased Safeway. Safeway has a long history, which I will not get into.

It's funny when I see others reviews considering that most travelers from out of town that feel like they are entitled and everyone needs to cater to their needs. Safeway is the only major grocery store in Fort Bragg beside Harvest and caters to every outstanding need if it is in their power. It is not a big city Safeway that has hundreds of employees. It is a small town Safeway that cater to hundred and thousands of locals and tourists on a daily. The employees do a wonderful job. While dealing with individuals that feel the world revolves around only them. 4.5 stars for being a small town Safeway and catering to more in a day than any big city Safeway!!!

Wait, what? 2 something stars?!? PLEASE! Every reviewer giving less than 4 would be well served to shop some of the Bay Area Safeway stores! This place is Safeway heaven! 8 self checkout stand, a football field size store with everything that any Safeway carries except gas! The bakery is off the hook with all they have. I would LOVE to shop at this store on a regular basis but I would have to drive three hours! One way! Come on peeps! Take a look around! You've got it real good here!

Older store. Found what I needed, ok prices, ample supply of what I needed. Orchids were very expensive but could be due to where they come from, shipping, distance. Food items I got were priced consistent with like stores. Zero contact with employees. Used the self check out. Neither great nor poor experience, hence my rating.
