So it's definitely worth a stop. The jewelry is a touch pricier than I expected but not over the top. The owner is colorful and quirky and just kind of a cool guy who you can tell loooooves sharing his knowledge of not only sea glass but the area. He has the museum well organized and honestly, he has some pretty awesome finds. You definitely appreciate the collection more after visiting Glass Beach. If you're nearby, do stop in, look around, give a donation, and may buy a fun piece of Fort Bragg history to take home.

Rude owner and seemed like he didn't want to be there in the first place. When asked about a product, he mumbled the answer and didn't seem like he wanted to sell me the product. What a disappointment!

Stopped by to take a look and had an interaction with the owner that we def were not looking for on a Sunday morning After looking around we stopped to get our bearings outside of the store and he came out to me and said "close the door! were you born in a barn?" First of all there was another group that came through the door after us.... but in any case after I said "excuse me?" he said "get the f*** out of my place" Niiiice.

Interesting exhibits if you really want to get in the weeds about sea glass and sea treasures, or if you just want to see all the varieties of color there are! I definitely enjoyed learning about glow in the dark glass. It's pretty small and attached to a gift store, so, you know, it's definitely a commercial outlet. The staff are clearly bored out of their minds and have no interest in serving customers with politeness, but I can't say I blame them... must be a dud to work in a windowless mall when the beach is right down the street!

Was in town and decided to stop by about a year ago to see what all the hype was. There was none. The staff was pretty unmotivated just like the exhibits. Nothing that really caught my eye. I mostly just stood there and wondered why I spent money to go here and why this really just exists?

This cute little jewelry and museum shop via Yelp during my trip to Fort Bragg! Admission to the museum was free (they do accept donations). The display was pretty cool and informative in general. You can learn more about the different colors of the glass to be found on the beach and the glass may have originally be used for. They also have a exhibit with black light that allows a certain type of glass coated with uranium to glow! The jewelry shop was on the pricier side, although there are some pieces that are more budget-friendly. They also sell glass seeds, which can be thrown into the ocean to replenish the diminishing glass pieces on the beach (a thoughtful idea to replenish the glass for future generations). Like many other souvenir shops, they also sell t-shirts, hats, and other apparel. There are also souvenir books that show pictures and / or talk about the history of Glass Beach. Another interesting part of the shop is a small gift shop with a safari theme. I don't quite understand how that relates to Glass Beach, but you can expect to find stuffed animals and other safari themed things. To get to this part of the shop, you will need to pass through a very short hallway which is probably where the employees work (kinda awkward IMO). Parking is easy and plentiful. There are parking spots in front of the shop, as well as to the side of the shop. It is definitely a place to visit when you're in Fort Bragg and/or if you're interested in learning more about the history!

This is a great hobby shop that rock collectors would most certainly enjoy. It's a great place being a museum of the history of Glass Beach. Captain Cass runs a class act and like he always says, be sure to visit the Botanical Gardens across the street also. If you are wanting to full enjoy this rock shop be sure to stop by early in the day as it closes early in the afternoon.

The glass house was adorable for sure. Then there's this "African Elephant Museum" on the other side... I really don't know how to put it into words....it's like walking through a creepy movie scene. It's a room of stuffed tigers and lion. And there's some giraffes and elephants but it's most fake wild cats coats/clothing and stuffed wild cats animals. I felt like I was walking through a serial killers bedroom to be honest...

We didn't want to miss this spot so we raced over before they closed for the day. The owner, Captain Cass, is a collector and expert of everything seaglass and he's displayed his collection in glass vitrines, carefully organized by color and size. In this cramped little cottage, you can read about the wreckage of the big clipper ship Frolic that spilled its Gold Rush cargo on the coast and Vaseline glass (manufactured until the end of WWII) containing uranium that glows under black light. Adding a touch of melancholy, old TV clips of Captain Cass being interviewed play on monitors as if encapsulating a heyday gone by. Every corner is stuffed with either a display or a small souvenir for sale like a puzzle of Glass Beach. This spot is real California for its unique bit of history and fascination and I admire the dedication of the owner who's open 7 days a week from 10-5. It's definitely worth a stop and to pick up a souvenir.

I was looking forward to visiting this museum but was disappointed. The place is very small and cramped and has no wow factor

Rich and rather informative collection. Interesting history of the glass in the area, lots of stories and artifacts from sunken ships. We all loved it.

Interesting sea glass displays, with jewelry and various objects for sale. A good way to understand how sea glass got there!

Great place to stop in this small town. Beautiful handmade blown glass necklaces you have to buy one! I've gotten many compliments already on mine, I bought a jellyfish in pinks and greens. If you love handmade wares and something no one else has go there!

In April, my husband, sister in law and I visited the Sea Glass Museum. There is an ongoing video which shows the owner being interviewed about where he found the sea glass displayed and how glass beach came to be. While we liked the museum itself, we did not care for the owner. He was not friendly at all. When we walked in, right away he said because there are so many visitors, he would not answer questions and to look at the video instead. I understand his point, but the way he said it, it was rude.
