The base is considered one of the best laid out, although it has its dangers, including wildlife and driving hazards. Many who have spent time there appreciate the consistent weather, which rarely includes rain. However, some individuals express mixed feelings about their time, reflecting on both difficult experiences and fond memories. Overall, NTC is seen as a place that provides valuable training in a stunning yet rugged environment.

This is the ultimate training ground for the US Army. If you’re looking for a high end steakhouse you took the wrong exit.

I spent a few weeks here in '90. I woke up one morning with a couple inches of snow covering my sleeping bag. Good thing I am from Minnesota, that stuff was almost normal for me.

I did a training exercise at NTC in December 1991. I was stationed in Fort Stewart, GA. I slept in the Humvee and a couple of nights outside. Remember listening to the Bills vs Raiders OT game on a cold Sunday afternoon. Great memories.
