The comfort inn & suites and Fortuna California is one of the better hotels I've ever been to not only for myself but for my kids as well. They have tablets in the rooms so the kids can watch something or play on those and you don't have to watch cartoons all night lol. The service is great as well I have not met one helper that was rude or gave me attitude and I use to go there 3 times a month for 2 days at a time for about 7 years. So check them out plus they have a little snack room(that cost $) that's open 24/7 and then the breakfast which is free of course. I highly recommend them

$300 night fort a Comfort inn is ridiculous!I was meeting a group of friends there is the reason I went if you are wondering.I do travel often, mostly international. I like and I don't mind paying for a nice hotel, but come on. Wake up California! This is a 2* hotel with an 5* hotel price. In Lisbon anyway.

Location is fine considering size of town. Hotel was clean however the service was horrible. I booked room weeks ago and said no ground floor which was approved by hotel along with my late check in. When I got here I got ground floor and said I requested no ground floor. Staff was rude and said we cannot accommodate we are full from behind bullet proof partition. Keep in mind this is a three floor hotel in the middle of nowhere. Parking lot was empty. I then asked for late check out. Rude staff said call tomorrow and ask the morning desk person. I called and they just responded NO we don’t do that. For $250 a night you better start doing that! Would not recommend.Safety: Ground floor in high crime area.

Its disguesting how this hotel shamelessly price gouged as a result of the Lone Pine fire as well as the Hoopa fire. For ONE night it was over $400 because it was "the last room". At least that was according to the Arcata location who so graciously booked me a room 50 minutes south. Once I arrived the individual there informed me that no they in fact had many rooms to choose from- some probably costing less. $400 for one night, in that hotel especially, absolutely not worth it. Couldn't recommend less. As you read reviews you'll see a consistent dissatisfaction in customers- ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY PRICE GOUGEEdit: "breakfast " were bagged mini muffins and Folgers coffee"

I'd say "pretty good" on this hotel. The breakfast was mediocre, but the room was big and clean, so that's a plus. And it's close to the rodeo grounds, casino, and Eureka. Seemed way overpriced for a Comfort Inn, but they can do what they want - really not much choice in Fortuna California.

Miserable stay! The cable TV was a joke (basic channels only- the casino we stayed at in Blue Lake had hundreds of channels) which was annoying but the real issue was the disrepair the place was in. The mattress was uncomfortable and had weird stains on it. The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed because the latch was broken. The toilet was so low to the ground (it was at half my calf) and the toilet paper on the wall required you to twist uncomfortably to reach it. They were very sparse with the towels and toilet paper although they had no way to keep clean towels from being taken (like nearly every other hotel I've been in does these days- you hang them up and they leave them alone). The AC unit started making really weird sounds and not working during the night. The second-floor map was wrong, it said there was an ice machine at the end of the hall but there wasn't one, there is one on the first and third floor though (but the bigger question is why is the map that's posted on the wall wrong??). The workout room was dirty and had gross brown lines on the wall. The treadmill safety cord clip was broken in half so it couldn't attach to anything (and then stop the machine if you fall). Also almost impossible to find someone if you need anything. Even when it came to check out there wasn't anyone at the desk, there was a box that someone had left their key in that could have been a drop box but no label or explanation and it required you to lean into the desk (beyond the safety plastic) to get it. The breakfast wasn't great but typical, coffee, juice, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, mini yogurts, sub-par bagels, and toppings for the bread items.

I’m not a picky person it wasn’t terrible for a place to crash for the night but there was multiple concerns. At around 7 in the morning someone knocked and immediately tried opening the door (less than 5 seconds) I didn’t hear them say house keeping or anything. Luckily I had the safety latch on so they couldn’t get in but I looked down the hall about 30 seconds later and didn’t see anyone so I’m not sure who it was. It was only me and my sister in the room(both young) so that was very unsettling. Also, my sheets were pilled so bad I could feel it trying to sleep, the sink was cracked as well as the wall and ceiling. The shower rod looked like it was installed wrong so the curtain wouldn’t stay shut it just kept sliding to the middle.

Good price and value for the room. The room had some sticky spots on the floor.

This was a great hotel. We booked the two room suite with 1 king and two queens. It was so spacious and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was so yummy and the staff were all very friendly. We enjoyed the first night so much we stayed again! The pool not working was a bummer but we didn't regret our stay. Wish the second night was the same price as the first. If we are back in this area we will come back to here! Thank you for providing a clean and comfortable place for our family!

The pool and hot tub have been out of order for a long time! Yet, its still advertised as an amenity. The room was clean and nice, but the bed was broken and the curtains were ripped. We were really looking forward to using the hot tub, but when we arrived, there was a sign in the window that said the hot tub and pool are broken. I asked for a discount and a guy named David behind the counter interrupted to suggest we cancel our reservation. Obviously, we couldn't do that and I didn't appreciate the confrontational response. Bad service! The website didn't mention the jacuzzi and pool were out of service when the room was booked. You all are lucky I wasn't paying or I would have summoned all kinds of hell.

- Helpful front desk staff- We called for our booking to inquire about the bed situation. We were told that the couch wouldn't open, and it wasn't large but it would be big enough for a kid to sleep on. My 5 year old didn't even fit! We were given a cot (of typical super springy comfort :/ ) and charged an additional $20.- The room was HUGE and had plenty of space!- I'm very thankful I was warned on the phone that the pool wasn't working- No gravy that is typical at Comfort Inn but they did have the other standard options.- After reading safety concerns about Eureka, we chose to drive a bit farther to stay here. We didn't see anyone sketchy nor were we ever concerned for our safety.- Despite the above comments- 5 stars because room was clean, not smelly and everyone was kind and helpful.
