Imagine it's midnight, you're working hard on your philosophy paper and realize you haven't eaten since you started at 6 - you run to Safeway where theres a million aisles and you're new in town so you don't know where everything is. This is where Rylo came in clutch for me last night. Had a list of stuff to make for a salad and had all but 2 ingredients. I didn't wanna bother him because he seemed busy but when I asked for help he wasn't afraid to come to the rescue. He directed me to my missing salad ingredients and shared a nice story about how helping another customer allowed him to know where my ingredient was. SUPERB! It was late so i know he was a one man army, but he even made sure to make things look nice after i grabbed my stuff - talk about above and beyond. I hope Rylo's manager lets him know what a difference he makes in the store - what an awesome guy and an awesome experience at my new local Safeway. P.s. it was very clean and i appreciate that.

Out of my customers order there were 5 items and this store was out of 2 of them. That’s horrible Safeway

Fraud Tripple Charged.. Was promised a credit back to my credit card. Was charged three times within minutes for the same items at the same checkout. Error with respect to the deal on mineral water and was told had to charge the card for each error. The manager said could not find the second transaction but corporate submitted to my bank proof of the transaction stating goods provided. Yet three charges within minutes for the same items! They won't bother looking over all three charges to see the common sense. Hundreds of dollars and a month later, hours were invested into the nightmare. After decades of being a customer, my trust is lost.

This is probably one of the worst Safeway's I have ever been in. The bakery department has barely anything in it. The lines are always too long and the biggest issue is that the customer service is terrible. I've only encountered a couple of very nice people working there. Most of the workers barely acknowledge you when checking out and my groceries never get bagged right. They always put way too much stuff in the bags and are way too heavy. The Safeway in Eureka is so much better, but since I live near this one it's where I end up shopping. I usually try to get in and out as quickly as possible.

I live fairly close to this location, so I shop here often. While the price points are a little higher than I prefer (Winco prices are better) I am happy to pay a little more for the convenience of being close to home and having my items bagged for me. There are lots of employees who have worked at the Fortuna location for years, and I love seeing familiar faces almost every time I go in. Staff is so kind there! The current manager, Ariel, is the sweetest. She always says hi when I see her in the store, always asks if I found everything I needed, and if I haven't, she offers to check the back for me or show me where it is. She genuinely cares about doing her job well, and it shows. This location continues to increase the amount of organic and health food items they carry, and I love that! Their produce section has a convenience shelf where I can buy things like pre-sliced vegetables and pico de Gallo, which I appreciate. They also have a heavily discounted shelf at the back of the store by the customer restroom where you can buy heavily discounted items that are either out of season, have some small imperfection, or had the outer packaging opened. I'm so happy to have a Safeway here in town, and always appreciate the service I'm provided.

First and foremost; Prices are better than Ukiah! An older Safeway in a old strip mall with some other good places to grab a sandwich a burger and whatnot... It's clean and well stocked. They had everything on our list! Helpful staff. Self checkouts are helpful. A bank inside for your convenience. Like most Safeway's the flower/plants dept is gorgeous and smells lovely even though your mask. If I'm in the area I would definitely stop here again & again...

I have been a very satisfied customer at Fortuna Safeway for the past 30 years. I have even built a relationship with the long time employees as they have watched my children grow up and know them on a daily basis. Yesterday while my teenage sons were in the store, an adult Male stranger started to verbally and emotionally attack my child. As this man was screaming, threatening my sons physical safety, the employee of Safeway decided to join this man in the verbal attack to the point my son was so emotionally affected by this he beg me not to inform management or authorities. AS A PARENT, I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED. I now know Fortuna Safeway is not family friendly and your children are not safe in this store.

they aren't providing their staff with proper PPE and aren't enforcing the mask requirement. they're putting the whole community at risk, and not only will i not shop there, i will actively discourage all of my friends to not shop there.

Honestly not bad as far as stores go. It's always clean, has good amount of product (except greens it's rare that I get the $5 salad mixes consistently), friendly staff. I have noticed (since covid) they've done the most for their staff the most quickly (compared to stores in the area) so that is pretty awesome as well.

One of the cashiers at Safeway in Fortuna was making jokes about the empty shellves. This is NOT a joking matter whatsoever. Also anyone want to tell me WHY Safeway ia not put a limit on the items that greedy, selfish people are buying by the cartloads??? By not placing item limit amounts, Safeway is just as greedy as the rats running into Safeway and buying as much as they can. It's so selfish and disgusting, it's an embarrassment that there are such greedy gross people out there

This is my neighborhood Safeway, and yeah, it's a little overpriced, and a little funky, but it's the best and most affordable game in town, and its funkiness is genteel funkiness, more of a vintage shopping experience than a funky one, really. However, it's the people who work there who deserve 5 stars. They're helpful and friendly.

First off the other day I was at the Fortuna Safeway and had my leashed service dog with me also has his ID handy but apparently if he does not have is vest on that means it’s ok to disrespect me and when offered to show his ID I got a eye roll and a no and walked away as I was already checked out leaving. Second I was there tonight (not with my service seeing that it’s an issue) but there were no hand baskets near the door so I had grabbed a empty one that was behind a check
