Today, I just had the worst experience ever at a Bank. I went inside during my lunch break to withdraw a large sum of money. They put me through the ringers, hassle, and account /ID verifications. Just to verify my direct deposit. Didn't get to do my withdrawal. Call customer service, and finds out My Checking Account got blocked by the Branch. It's the Filipino Lady who is the manager that blocked it. I felt like I was Racial Profile because of my Tattoos and Appearance. And I should not have this amount of money to withdraw. I don't remember recommend this Branch if you have tattoos.

I opened a new business account with Citibank and am very disappointed by their system and lack of professionalism. First of all, the wiring capability was not turned on when I opened the account and I had to go back the the branch to sign up. Then their online wiring has very limited space for entering beneficiary name. When I called their wire dept, I was told to use abbreviation. I told the representative that I have been doing wiring for many years and exact beneficiary name need to be entered. Then she told me that "this is how Citi does it, it will work". For sure, the wire was returned by the recipient bank later. When I re-do the wiring, I was told to call Citi to make manual entry on beneficiary name after initiating online wiring. The tricky thing is I cannot call too soon or too late. If I call too soon, the wire may not show up in their computer. If I call too late, the wire may have been processed before correct beneficiary name is entered. It turned out that I called too late and they had to generate an wire amendment. But Citi did not send out the amendment till next day, which increased chance of the wire being returned again because the recipient bank only hold the fund for two days before receiving an amendment. Another indication showing things do not work smoothly with Citi is wiring fees. When I opened the account, I was told that first 5 wires are free of charge per month. But fees got posted for every wire transfer in our account. So, I contacted the local banker, and I was told that it was a mistake because the account was not set up correctly, and he promised to manually credit the account for these fees later on. The local banker is a nice person and very accessible. I think Citi just does not have a good system and training.

Personal Banker: Amir Abbasi Friday 9/27/2019 around 1015am Went into Citibank for some check deposit. After it is done (it is quite quick compared to other Citibank branches), I have a question on my acct. The teller referred me to Amir for his assistance. I explained my situation to Amir, he "got" it and explained and took care of me immediately. This probably cannot be done using the traditional 800-CITIBANK agent. Press "1", Press "2", Pls hold, we are experiencing longer hold time, music playing, after 10 mins, re-check my acct to make sure it is me. etc Thank you Amir for your assistance. 5 Star service

Terrible customer service. I got a new debit card because of fraud. Citibank locked my account, then it took at least ten calls to remedy my access to my account, and still, 14 days later, I do not have access to my account. I have gotten the runaround 10 times . No one seems to know what to do. Meanwhile, I have to pay my bills. All they needed to do was link my new card to my account, and it has taken hours so far on the phone, and still no access. I am leaving to a new bank, after 21 years.

Citibank had plenty of parking in front. was able to make a credit card payment and leave in a reasonable time. Citibank isn't/wasn't my fave bank. left them. Costco took them in. not my choice. Citibank was deem "too big to fail" by President Bush after they lost tens of Billion$$ from subprime mortgages from 2007-2008, specially in colllateralized debt obligations dealing with residual mortgages (bundling). Secretary of Treasury proposed a bailout guaranteeing hundred of billion$$ in possible mortgage loses plus a $20 Billion injection. no executives had to be dismissed, questioned.or demoted. so unlike the $1.5 Billion Chrysler Loan a few years earlier. when fraud was discovered, hundred of million $$ was fined, no executives fined or jailed. no jail for white collar crime. poor/black guy steals a cigar, they get shot or worst....

Always short on staff and they have no idea what is going on. The bank literally took all my money and couldn't get it back. It's basically lost. I filed a lawsuit in NYC district court and with consumer financial protection. Never again!
