WARNING * BEWARE * DO NOT RENT U-HAUL VEHICLES FROM ANBAR STORAGE IN WATSONVILLE * FAILING BRAKES * ROBBED OF $100I rented a 10' U-Haul from this location a few months ago and was issued a U-Haul truck with FAILING BRAKES. When we put our foot all the way down, the truck would barely stop 10 feet past the stop line on the street, which would leave us part way into the intersection. Nathtalie at Anbar told us to bring the U-Haul back and she did not charge us for the trip to Santa Cruz or back to Watsonville. Nathtalie said that "their truck brakes are checked and that at times they can't know when the brakes may have issues". BUT IN THE REAL WORLD... PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY COMPANIES THAT RENT LARGE VEHICLE TO AVERAGE CITIZENS SHOULD KNOW WHEN A VEHICLES BRAKES NEED TO BE CHANGED. We were planning to take this U-Haul over the hill into San Jose and could have been seriously injured or worse. Anbar should have sent an employee technician to retrieve the vehicle from us in Santa Cruz and had it towed back instead of making us drive it down the hill back into Watsonville with bad brakes. On another note, we had simultaneously filled the U-Haul with $100 worth of gas and NEVER RECEVED A REFUND FOR THE $100, which Nathtalie upon checking the gas meter in that U-Haul when we brought it back confirmed that we had filled it up and said she saw no issue that we would get fully refunded for the gas. Since then, I have made 3 attempts with the office on Ross Avenue in Watsonville (I spoke to both NATHTALIE AND MARIA) and have made 3 attempts with the FEILD SUPERVOSOR (SILVINO MORAN) after escalating my complaints, but never received the gas refund. I also had paid for insurance on the U-Haul rental which may have protected us in such matters, but it didn't help... Anyway, on June 27th I told Silvino, the Field Supervisor what had happened, and I texted a picture of my gas receipt to him. SILVINO SEEMED UNCONCERNED THAT THE ISSUE STEMMED FROM THE FACT THAT THE U-HAUL BRAKES WERE BAD, and he said nothing about the brakes at all). Silvino told me he would get the $100 gas refund to me, and that I should see it on my credit card statement within 1-2 business days. On July 23rd I texted Silvino stating that I had not received the refund. I did not get a response from him. On August 1st I called Silvino letting him know again that I had not received the refund and he said he would look into it... I never heard back from him. I just checked my CC statement again today, which is September 27th, and I have not received the refund. Early on in my process of booking this U-Haul from Anbar Storage, I was frustrated with their customer service and voiced my frustration. I found both Nathtalie's and Maria's responses to my concerns to be very rude and unprofessional. Toward the end of this fiasco with Anbar Storage, Maria at one point angrily told me to stop threatening that I was planning to leave a review. It has taken me a few months to submit this review because I was moving, busy, and awaiting a response and refund from the field manager, which never came, but I think it was important to let people know that ANBAR STORAGE IN WATSONVILLE LET A U-HAUL TRUCK BE RENTED WITH BAD BRAKES AND ACTED UNCONCERNED. Please pass this info along to all your friends and loved ones so they can be safe driving these huge trucks. I plan on submitting this review to all social media outlets, such as google reviews, YELP, etc., and to U-HAUL's Corporate Office itself in hopes of getting this message out.

Ivan and Brad are very helpful employees and on top of it. we had a bad experience at the del monte location less then a half hour peior and drove 20 mins and had a wonderful experience where my reservation was already completed by the time i walked thru the door friendly faces and professionally ran. Wonderful demeanor. Plus a sidenote they called me back as i was writing the review cause they had missed my call very professional. I highly recommend them. Thanks for reading.

I love these people they are so nice and so understandingI was homeless for over three weeks and needed to get a storage it was the first time I've ever had to get a storage unit they were very helpful and kind people I would advise to use this place if you ever need a storage unit

Has been a decent place, but the hours can be a bit confusing. They apparently also have limited hours in the summer that aren't posted on their website, which makes things more confusing.

My friend had bought a new truck while working down south. He had left his old truck there so I went south with him to drive it home. On the way back I had motor trouble with his old truck. They were already closed on a Sunday, but lucky for us they were very welcoming and acomidatimg. They got us on out way in almost no time at all and at a great price.
