Nice small library where staff and visitors often do not talk softly so bring your noise canceling ear buds!

The freedom library is a great asset to the community because I want libraries to stay open. This branch is clean, relatively quiet and well lit. I have made use of their collection of books. Although it's a very small library there's tons of space. A lot of people come here to read or study, I work close by so if I arrive a little early before my shift starts.Luckily there are NO offense smells or groups., despite the typical random person walking in that can't pronounce the word "library" (LAAAH-berry???) seriously?!?! The staff here for the most part is generally knowledgeable and friendly, they can help you find any book if you can't find it . I mainly go the the main library downtown, but when I can't I come here instead - thank you

I'm old school I guess. People were talking loudly. The two librarians were talking too each other loudly.Hum, what? Times sure have changed.

Love this cozy Library. The staff is always really helpful, if they don't have a book, they can get it from another branch on loan.

When I used to live in Freedom I depended on this library for my job search. I didn't have internet at home and you can't really look for jobs in the newspaper anymore. I would visit this location frequently and thanks to this little library I was able to secure my first real job. Their inter-library loan (which Santa Cruz doesn't offer) also helped me study and prepare for my job interview. The location is a little small and cozy, but I love it for that.

A wonderful small library. What a Gem for this community. Excellent selection of children's books and media. The librarians/staff are particularly kind, helpful and professional. ❤️

I came in one day while camping nearby at Sunset Beach to check email and get work done on my laptop. A teenager sitting in the cubicle across starting talking loudly to his friend, complaining about people not "respecting his heritage". They were clearly not doing work or school related stuff and I called the guy on it.He started to insult me in a sexually graphic manner, so I talked smack right back. The librarian (female white woman) came over and without investigation immediately got up in my space and blamed me for the incident, even as the teen started to throw gang signs (I doubt he was in a real gang). The teen left and the librarian yelled at me and told me to get her next time. I told her I'd deal with any problems how I chose to (I was at a nearby public library a week before and the librarian would do nothing about any noise disruptions even when notified).5 minutes later 3 Watsonville CA cops carry me out, one puts their hand on my throat in a near choke hold grab, used excessive force and now I am filing a complaint with the police department as well as the library. The cops, all hispanic, told me that Watsonville was "diverse" (what the hell is that supposed to mean, that I'm white?) without knowing that at the time my home of record address was South Central Los Angeles.I suppose you could say Watsonville CA and the Freedom Branch Library showed THEIR true colors that day in October 2014.You'll get your day guys for violating like this, it's coming. I'll see to that.

They have comfortable reading chairs and access to all the free books I want. I'm grateful!
