Got one story from guy and a different from another. Was lied too about the state of which my vehicle was in. Did not like the vibe at all and did not use them to finish the work

Just had a complete transmission rebuild by AAMCO in Freemont. Totally pleased with Isaac and his crew of professionals on workmanship and costs. Stay with the transmission specialist!

Brought my '96 Camaro in for a troubling transmission issue. Transmission fluid was ejecting out of the dip stick. Over fill was eliminated so something was going on internally. Spoke with Isaac who was more than helpful from the initial phone call. Dropped the pan and diagnosed the issue as a defective filter. Isaac could have easily sold me on a new transmission, but he took the time to do it right. At the end of the day $500 fix and thousands of dollars saved. Overall, I appreciated the direct communication and mechanic integrity.

I have a 2021 Amg c43 coupe and my brake pads were making a lot of noise, they replaced them efficiently, they also fixed and added a new front grille per my request, and a spoiler and it only took about 5-6 hours, really respectful front desk and efficient staffServices: Body & Trim

I took my 2018 Toyota Corolla about a month ago to this place . All I took it for was a transmission oil change . That is what I thought it was wrong with my car . Bc it was making a wired noise around the engine. Mohammed asked me what service I needed done and I told him a transmission oil change . Than he explained the process to me and I agreed to it . A couple of minutes later he came back and told me that the noise I was hearing was bc my water pump needed to be replaced. And the oil too . So I asked how much will it cost for the repairs and he quoted me about a $1000 less than a Toyota dealer ( btw I knew already what was wrong with my car ) so i said go head . And after 24,hr later I had my car back to normal. I’m happy with the job they performed. Unfortunately not every job will go smooth as other . But I do recommend this place . Just make sure you listen and understand what they are telling and the risk that might occur after or before the job is done . If you sign the agreement. Than you’re giving them permission to work on your car . And you know what will be the consequences.Service: Transmission

Came in for the free brake inspection service and walked out disappointed and offended. My partner and I are queer, trans, and a bit femme presenting, so I strongly believe that influenced (who I believe is) the owner's actions. What he did was ultimately over-explain – not in a helpful way, but in a way that showed he thought we do not know anything.I drove here all the way from Berkeley to get this inspection done, because during a call with the Oakland location they said they did not offer anything beyond a visual inspection without charging a fee. On the phone with this Fremont location, I went over each point listed on the AAMCO site such as ABS checking, fluid lines, etc, and the person on the other end of the line confirmed and agreed they will do all those things.Instead what actually I got was him pointing his flashlight around the rotors and telling me what I already knew, that the pads need to be replaced. After that, it became like a checkmate to him. He refused to go any further with the inspection and stated that I would have to replace the pads and rotors first before he would go any further. I can see he wants to make money (he complained to a coworker that the shop isn't making money - hmm I wonder why), but that is not the way. Shops give free things to try to gain happy customers, but if one offered a free burger and you only receive a piece of lettuce (feels like a good comparison), then you too would probably never come back and leave a review expressing your grief.Another prime example of him showing he thinks we did not know any better explained ahead. On the phone I asked if they could check for any loose suspension bolts because there is a rattle and I don't have a spot to jack up the car to check myself. The other end of the line said they would do it without a problem. After the poor service he gave, I brought up that fact because I didn't want to leave empty handed. I told him about the rattle and it took a few attempts to tell him there is in fact a rattle and not any other suspension noise. It isn't hard to diagnose a rattle when you're not a seasoned mechanic, but he didn't think so and it took me giving a dictionary example of what "rattle" means. He proceeded to reluctantly check and apparently struck gold, because he then latched onto the fact that my cv joint boot is torn and said my car is done for and shouldn't be driven. From that point on I knew he was trying to take advantage of someone with minimal knowledge or just is a really bad mechanic, because I already knew that and have been told by several mechanics it is not a problem to drive several thousand miles with a torn boot before it goes. I proceeded to tell him I already know about the axle needing to replaced and that the sound is happening on the other side of the car, not where he was standing, but his mind was already made up.I was able to clock he just has a really strong ego, so I lied and told him I'd come back once I saved up in order not to leave a hostile situation after declining his help. Will be finding another shop that will actually follow through. I'm also really disappointed because I've had several people tell me AAMCO is worth going to, but judging from what happened at 2 locations, the shop owners can run it however they like. Scary.. when a name is that trusted.

They left all the screws on my transmission loose, nearly causing a complete burn up of my drive train... I don't recommend them for any mechanical repairs!

I went to this place to get my transmission replaced. The work was done. I took my car with a warranty in hand. A week later I had drove to Sacramento for the holiday and the transmission blew again. I called and spoke with the employees and they said I had to pay to have it towed from Sacramento to Fremont. I was furious to say the least. $3000 later and I have no car and a repo due to this companies negligence and very unprofessional behavior. They gave me a faulty transmission, would not pay for my tow to have it looked at and I believe his name is Isaac told me just to drive the car for two hour increments until I got to Fremont. Well that did not work and he knew it wouldn't. At that time I was a homeless, single mon who just lost everything due to domestic violence and He and Muhammad knew it because my native tribe paid for the service to be done. This is a place ran by scam artists. Please do yourself a favor and get your car repaired elsewhere. Where it will be fixed right and you will be treated with the respect you deserve.Service: Transmission
