Decided to try Banfield Fremont since we got our Puppy during the pandemic. Not being able to go in with our dog was rough but the drop off appointments were convenient. We signed up for the wellness plan and all went well untilMy dog’s first dental cleaning. I received a call that he experienced a heart issue during the appointment and they could not complete the cleaning. I was told I had to pay an amount since they had to wake him up and I needed to take him to a cardiologist. Of course I was stunned and upset.Although my Dog could no longer use the wellness plan including the dental I still had to pay for it , until the year was up.. My husband was furious, I paid it anyway.I called to make an appointment yesterday for my dogs vaccinations and was told this location would no longer see my dog. I am shocked by this I have done nothing wrong.

Intake was quick, staff are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were super gentle & loving with our high energy dog.Affordable pricing with signing up for the monthly plan. Staff helped us figure out the best financial choices to get everything done but also for the least upfront expense.Appointment took about 30-40min & vet called with thorough explanation of findings at the end.Overall an awesome first vet visit experience! Will definitely be coming back ?

Staff is friendly and helpful. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is availability is lacking. Not enough vets on staff.

This is the best Banfield location I have experienced, the staff genuinely care about our pet's experience and are helpful to rhe humans as well! Special shout-out to Russell for going above and beyond to share some sites/information to help us care for our cat and helping us schedule our pets. Working with Russell was a delight and I am thankful to Banfield for hiring such awesome people!

This Banfield facility has a vet who is still refused to see the pet owner, due to covid reason! instead they would rather our pet being drugged to accommodate them. We just have a cat, who is only willing to get out of the carrier if we, the owner take it out in the exam room. Regardless, the staff told us if we think we need to see the vet in person, we should go to other vet facility, what a bad customer service. Yes, we cancelled the Banfeld overprice insurance and will find a new vet who has more common sense.

My 12 WEEK YEAR old puppy named MARLEY had an appointment here this morning at 9am. Her appointment was for her 12 weeks shots. Her next appointment, which was for the Rabies shot was supposed to be for when she turns 16 weeks. My boyfriend took her in this morning to receive her 12 weeks vaccinations because I was at work. He took paperwork from her last set of shots with him to this appointment. When he got there, he explained to them that she's only here to receive her 12 WEEKS vaccinations. Instead of looking at her paperwork my boyfriend brought to them, they were asking my boyfriend questions, while putting it into their computer system. When he was asked for her birth date, he told them the wrong date by accident and said her birthday is on March 14th. However, the paperwork that shows all her information and the vaccinations she received so far that he brought with him clearly states her birthday which is May 14th, but They chose not to look at it at all to make sure everything they put into their computer system was accurate, especially since Marley is a puppy. My boyfriend never mentioned a rabies shot at all, since Marley is not 16 weeks old yet. When confirming everything, the lady at the front desk repeated all the vaccines that Marley was going to receive and she never mentioned the Rabies shot. Then she proceeds to tell my boyfriend that the doctor is doing surgery on another dog right now and that Marley won't be done for 2-3 hours. They took Marley and had her in a cage along with other dogs in their back room. She sat back their in a cage for a solid hour before they even got to her. While i was at work, they called me to tell me that she was ready for pick up and this was around 11:00 am, so I texted my boyfriend to go pick her up. The lady then explains to me that everything went well and that everything looks good. She then tells me that Marley is FULLY VACCINATED and ready to go outside in a week. I was very confused because she's only 12 weeks and we never told them to give her the rabies shot. We wanted to wait till she reached 16 weeks before getting her fully vaccinated. I asked the lady on the phone what shots did she receive. And she began to say that she received EVERYTHING all in one day because she's 21 weeks. I then told her that she's not 21 weeks and that she's only 12 weeks old. Regardless if she was 21 weeks old, if we did not ask for this, why would they take it upon themselves to give her something without getting approval from my boyfriend and I. This could have been very harmful. And this was very traumatizing for me and probably Marley as well. I called back and some lady, who sounded extremely young answered and I explained to them that this was not okay. This kind of mistake should have never happened especially since we had the papers that clearly has her birthday on it and they never looked at it not once. They weren't very apologetic. Instead they just kept saying that it will be fine. They weren't trying to compensate us or anything until my boyfriend demanded his money back for the rabies shot that they charged him for even though she wasn't due for her rabies shot yet. The whole purpose for puppies to receive all these vaccines is to build their immunity. For them to give her this shot without our knowledge or approval this early can actually mess up her antibodies. So now we have to take Marley to a REAL VET, to get blood work done just to see if this rabies shot is even effective. So she may or may not need another rabies shot. Over all, that's more money out of our pockets just to fix their mistakes, which is why they should have refunded us all our money back. My boyfriend talked to the "doctor" that they sent out to talk to him about everything that happened. And he said is was a young Indian female that looked about 20 years old, who he believed was not really the doctor that performed such careless actions on our puppy. He also talked to the manager, whom he said was the one that actually submitted the work

The staff is highly incapable of keeping appointments or answering phones. Honestly just don’t waste your time going here. Horrible service. They do not care about you or your pets well being. Don’t believe me ? Find out for yourself.

This location quoted me $1,179 for a health certificate for my dog, when a different Banfield location quoted $136. Do your research first before being bamboozled like this.

If you are considering Banfield: DON'T DO IT.RUN. RUN AWAY. They'll hook you in with their "Wellness Plan" and play on your worries for your pet. Don't fall for it. It's a scam. There are better humane societies around the Bay Area that genuinely care for your pets well-being, but wherever they are, they certainly aren't here.I cannot begin to describe how disgusted I am with this business and their practices. After 3 years of being a customer, here's what I can fully say about Banfield, as a company. Especially their Fremont location. Pay full attention to the "It's not pet insurance, it's a wellness plan!" line. They're half right. It definitely is not insurance. They simply could -not- care less for your pet. And many of the "services" they offer, I've yet to see proof that they actually follow through with besides major ones like spaying/neutering, etc. y'know...stuff that has to actually be seen to be believed. When I first arrived, they had wonderful doctors. I've saved every single document they've ever given me and I can give absolutely give a shout out to some of the vets names on there who have done an amazing job caring for my fur baby. Some of them have even come out to talk to me, and they showed some of the best compassion for an animal I've ever seen.Recently, however, I've never seen any of the vets they allegedly hire, and it's not like those vets stay around anyway, because a few months later, I see a new vet name on the wall. No, I always see a new "nurse" (I have heard that they aren't actual veterinary nurses, and they really shouldn't claim to be either because then that gets into the realm of legality). When they ask me if I want my cats teeth cleaned or claws clipped, I say no because I do these things at home. I give them a firm "No." because there must've been some mix up the first few times where I figure the people didn't hear me. And. Every. Single. Time. They try to charge me for claw clipping. And every single time I have to complain that I told them no, and that this is the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc time that I've had to remind them, so they remove it off the bill.Do they have a monthly quota for how much money they should be charging people? I mean it's got to be, because this is just shameful. Once is an easily forgivable mistake. Twice is a coincidence, but three times and onward, no, that's a pattern. Whether that pattern is incompetence or malice, I don't know. I don't care because neither answer is acceptable. The people at the front just don't care. I called one day saying that my kitty was vomiting everywhere, they wanted to book me a month out. A MONTH OUT!? I ran down there because at the time, I didn't know where else to go, and WOW, looks like they had some free time to take a look at a cat who was vomiting! The girl was SO nice to put down her cell phone and bravely........go get another person to look at my cat, who wasn't a vet, just another "nurse"...while she went back to her cell phone. Disgusting display of "professionalism". This is a living, breathing, creature you're dealing with and this location treats them like little fleshy bags of money. To us, they are FAMILY. I canceled my plan (which they make damn near impossible to find on their website, by the way, so watch out!) and I'll never be back.Never again, Banfield. And before you send one of your copy and pasted "Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences, call us or email us and blah blah blah":Save it. I don't want it. And I'll never use your services ever again. There are far better veterinarians around here.

One of the staff members is pretending and stating that she is a nurse, which is unsafe and illegal. This should be reported. Her name is Makenzi or Makala, who is actually Dr. Avanti assistant.

Very dissatisfied, they claim they are very busy and very tough to set appointments because of this. I've had Banfield call me to reschedule appointments that they set up initially due to being "busy". ABSOLUTELY impossible to get in touch with anyone in corporate to "cancel monthly insurance". My dog went in there recently and came out much worse, 2 days later his golf ball size protrusion got as big as his head who knows what happen possible could have been injected with a dirty needle. When I took my dog to Banfield for his emergency issue he was not prescribed even antibiotics, instead I was referred to blue pearl who then prescribed me antibiotics and that referral cost me almost $800 for test and meds. ...there is no point of a banfield at this point, just making money off people. I've dealt with many corporations before but this one is the pits.As far as "busy" aspect of this business, I went to pet maintenance and repair in Salinas. Independent vet who is INCREDIBLY busy yet saw my dog same day I called, performed surgery a day later for literally fraction of price, and my dog is so much better.
