I have enrolled in several classes here. The class has its pros and cons. If you are working to show your dog it is great. The instructors are active in judging and showing their dogs. If your dog doesn’t know sit, down, and stay you should teach him/her those skills prior to enrolling. This class concentrated on walking with your dog around other dogs, navigating obstacles on a leash, learning to assert yourself at difficult times- basic control skills. I learn a lot. The beginner class is taught by an experienced show judge. It’s often difficult to hear her and she gets very cranky if she has to repeat herself or a person is slow to master an instruction. You can’t take her too seriously. Most of us laughed when she scolded an owner. Some people don’t return after a cranky correction by Kathy. They should find a new instructor who is interested in teaching novices. They should also invest in a mic and speaker for the instructors. The second class is taught by a lovely lady who is super fun as well as knowledgeable. She is amazing! You just have to get through at least 5 of the 6 sessions with Kathy. It’s good practice in not taking criticism too seriously. Listen carefully and you’ll be in her good graces. She doesn’t seem to hold a grudge if she thinks you are dense lol.

Fantastic Place! I have been taking classes at Fremont Dog Training for many years in their Obedience, Rally and Conformation classes with different dogs. Well informed and experienced instructors who also show their own dogs. Highly recommended!

I agree with some of the reviews on here. I called them to inquire for my dog and the person had a very unprofessional attitude when communicating. He seemed to be scoffing and laughing at the questions I had, especially when I tried to confirm what was just communicated. Reading their reviews, it seems like a lot of people experienced this when inquiring with them through the phone. I think this reveals a lot about what type of staffs they have, and I'm not surprised after reading some reviews talking about the trainers being impatient. You can already tell by the way they communicate with potential customers.

The instructor was knowledgeable but the environment is awful. It is in a metal commercial building with no air-conditioning or ventilation. It was hot, loud and difficult to hear.I also found it difficult to keep myself and puppy distanced from 3 dogs that showed signs of dog aggression. I found this frustrating and it impacted my ability to concentrate on working with my pup. I was constantly trying to keep distance from these dogs. 2 of the owners were just careless and clueless. It was not a good experience.

Terrible location. It was hot, loud and difficult to hear. There were 3 dogs in the class who were aggressive and I spent a lot of time trying to keep my puppy safe and distanced from these dogs. It is a metal building with no insulation and no ventilation. The instructor was knowledgeable but tended to be snarky in her comments when correcting me and others. I paid $150 to take the class and learned very little. I will not take any more classes there.

We have a dog who becomes very over sensitized around other dogs so this was not the place for him. If you have a dog that does the same I don’t recommend this place. It seemed like more of a place that teaches dogs (sit/stay/etc.) rather than assess and helps their needs & or issues.

This is not dog training club, rather training dog parents on how to train their dog. Most of what trainer says is available in YouTube videos. Since my dog is super distracted , I went here. Very disappointed, they should clearly say this training the trainer , not dog.Fees is super low, so you get what you pay for.

It did not work well. I have a 8 month old golden retriever who likes to play with everyone. I signed up for obedience class with hope that he would learn to slow down. The instructor has a well trained dog and expects all dogs to behave like that one. She was very mean over first and second class as the dog was not up to her expectations. But that is what i went there to train him for. The instructor does not spend any time with dog and was not able to make my dog follow her instructions either but she yelled at me a few times when the dog did not follow exactly what she asked for. It might be a good place for small dogs that are 4-5 months old but not for big dogs.

Fremont Dog Training Club has not had any recent reviews, so I wanted to make sure that anyone needing a training class for their dogs to please check these classes out.We have been coming for 5 weeks. Our last class is next week. I have had a great time learning how to train my dog and my dog has improved on the commands he already knew. He's a 5 year old rescue. This class included more things than I thought. We learned to walk around cones, walk our dog at a fast pace then a slow pace, walking our dogs near other dogs. This comes in handy on a walk. Kathy has been a great trainer and will tell you the things to work on. Due to Covid, our class was about 9-10 dogs. Perfect! The room is marked with green tape to keep everyone safe. I like the fact that the dogs do not get to sniff each other or have play time. Its a place to learn and train your dog. I was quite worried about taking my dog who barks and pulls at dogs while walking. Well, we have made progress. Learning the commands and keeping him at a heel position has been so helpful. Walking your dog, does not mean they get to walk wherever they want to. My goal, was to have a dog that was a good citizen on walks and by golly, he is! Just because you go to training does not mean your dog is trained. Training is an everyday task; otherwise your 6 weeks was all for nothing. I am already looking forward to taking him to the Intermediate class. By the way, Cooper and I say, thank you and we've had a fun time!!
