If you don't HAVE to go here, find another pharmacy!
This used to be such a wonderful, communicative, and friendly pharmacy but it has gone drastically downhill.
My doctor accidentally sent my refill here. Not wanting to burden them with sending out a new Rx, I called twice to verify that they had my current insurance info and again to verify it was ordered and would be filled on the day I run out. They told me to call sometime after noon on the day it's to be filled to check that it's ready before coming in. As I feared, they didn't fill it and failed to call to tell me they are refusing to fill it because I usually fill it at CVS. I'm not a problematic customer and always try to be polite, patient, friendly, and understanding, even when frustrated because they fail to inform me that something can't be filled on time, is knowingly on back order, or when they fill the wrong medication. This specific medicine is not able to be transferred and they couldn't be bothered to inform me that they had no intention of filing it. I stopped going there a year or two ago because of all the problems with getting meds filled, limited hours, and because it was no longer the friendly neighborhood pharmacy it used to be with the previous owners/management. She nice changing owners/management, it seemed as if they couldn't keep any of the exceptional/friendly/personable checkers & pharmacists. It makes me wonder if it's due to the work environment because I rarely would encounter anyone smiling and often the staff looked stressed, disgruntled, somber, or unapproachable. I don't know if it's the same as I didn't go in person but at least one of the two people I spoke with today was personable and apologized for the pharmacist's lack of communication. I told her it's not her fault but the lack of communication from the pharmacist is not acceptable. The first person I spoke with lied and tried to put the blame on CVS... Saying they filed my medication (they hadn't nor had they tried and hadn't even sent for a new Rx). I even tried to get clarification if she meant they filled it last month and she told me they filled it at CVS @9A. I later discovered there was just a note by the pharmacist's that said a note was put by the pharmacist's saying not to fill because I usually go to CVS. With all the drug shortages & people sometimes having to go to other pharmacies.... DO BETTER, HALLER'S!

I have been using Hallers for many years, but it seems like it is under a different management and service has suffered. A phone call to check on a prescription takes a very long time to even get answered compared to a couple of years ago. Yet in the store there are not that many customers to justify the phone on hold time. The staff are very curt and i miss the friendly manner that used to be big plus in the pharmacy.

A wonderful small family owned pharmacy where they get to know your name and are very happy to help you with anything. So much better than the giant chain kind.

Anytime I had a prescription that needed to be filled I would go to Hallers, because my parents trusted them for years. Today I needed to fill a prescription for medication for my cat that I've had filled at this location two times prior (both were filled within the hour of stopping by) but the pharmacist named Mark said he couldn't fill it because he needed at least 24 hours to fill a controlled substance prescription and "run the records" which he didn't explain exactly what that meant. Like I said I've had this same exact medication filled twice prior with no issue on the same day and was never told about a 24 hour wait period for controlled substances. So either he was lying or didn't follow policy the last two times I got my cats medication filled. I wouldn't mind if that was an actual policy, and I was told about it the first time I filled the prescription because then I could have planned for the wait period. Mark was rude and had no compassion which is a must for the medical field. Absolutely disappointed.Edit: Thank you for the update, I really do appreciate it. I should have clarified that I was not the one who spoke to Mark, it was my Mother that dealt with this situation. Your explanation makes more sense than what was told to my Mother in store. After speaking to her about it and telling her about your response, she does not remember him saying anything about leaving the prescription and picking up the next day. It sounds as if there is a miscommunication happening, but oh well- I still would like to see this as my home pharmacy as I've never had an issue prior and always felt cared for. Thank you again for your response.

Haller's is a wonderful pharmacy. They have reasonable and knowledge professionals behind the counter. It is one of the few remaining independent pharmacies and it is a treasure. Plus they deliver.

Last Saturday, August 19th I happened to visit Heller's Pharmacy at Fremont Blvd. Fremont CA. It was an amazing experience of some rarely found customer service and a kind of out of the way help extended to my the pharmacist, Mr. Tung. I needed to have vaccines for COVID, Shingle and D TAP. Being an old guy of 71, I was not able to understand and follow the on-line procedures. Mr. Tung, felt my difficulty and although being very busy, he came up to help me through all that was required. I must admit this kind of politeness and totally out of the way help that is quite seldom. It was a Five Stars performance and customer service by Mr. Tung. May God bless him with happiness, health and prosperity through his life.

As a practicing physician for over 30 years, I find Haller's to be a rare and precious resource in when big chain pharmacies can no longer provide any decent service.

The treatment of customers is bad, the assistant is
racist and doesn't treat people well, I wouldn't want
to go back there.

Go no further than Hallers Pharmacy and Medical Supplies if you're seeking for a pharmacy that is dedicated to offering excellent service and attention. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail displayed by the staff during my recent visit. They were incredibly meticulous in their drug prescription process, ensuring that the medications they were prescribing were appropriate for my needs. The clearly take pride in their work and are dedicated to providing the best possible care for their customers. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease, knowing that I was in good hands. Whether you're in need of painkillers, prescription medications, or other medical supplies, you can trust that you'll be well taken care of at Hallers Pharmacy.

This review is specifically for their medical supply business, not the pharmacy. My physician wrote a prescription for a walker with seat and recommended Haller's Medical Supply. I explained that I wished to use my medicare with a supplemental plan and he said that should not be a problem.I was surprised when Haller's Medical Supply informed me that they do not accept medicare or plans from any other insurers. I would have to pay for it myself without reimbursement. Before visiting this establishment, please be aware that they do not accept any form of insurance.

This pharmacy was one of the few in the area that would compound the meds my pet needed. I called them to make sure, and they said it was not in stock but if the vet called they would order it and it would be there within two days. After several calls and a fax from the vet, his wife, myself AND his office they still couldn't figure it out. It wasn't that the order was complicated, I just needed an antibiotic in liquid form as it would be administered to children (and pets). It was partly an issue of pharmacy staff not relaying messages to each other and partly staff not speaking English fluently enough to do business. After over a week of back and forth (and me telling the vet I'd drive to Sacramento just to get the med quicker but they thought that was silly) the vets office finally called me to say they got it straightened out and the Rx would be ready that day. I called Heller's to make sure and there was no answer, I left a message and no call back so I went there. The first person I saw at pharmacy ignored me for 7 minutes as I stood there in line with no one else as she looked to be organizing papers at the register until I asked if she would help me. Then she could not understand what I was asking, kept asking me to repeat and she kept relaying my information back incorrectly. She finally asked another staff person (who spoke English) to come out and help. He said they had absolutely no record of this vet EVER having called or faxed anything over. Looked it up with my phone number, my name, my pets name and date of birth. I told him it was ready and to check where they keep meds that are ready, he said it wasn't there. I asked him to check the fax machine and he said it wasn't there. I was there for 35 minutes. I myself had spoken to Heller's earlier that week and I knew they had spoken to the vet, Heller's had told me it had to be special ordered and assured me they would order it and it would be there by this date but this guy is telling me to my face he has no record of anyone from there speaking to me and no order for the med. I verified that this store was the number myself and the vet called, it was, not some other Heller's. I called the vet while I was there and they were flabbergasted, assured me they had called and were assured the Rx was there and ready. I left Heller's and told the vet to just call it in to Sacramento, a 2 hour drive but to an animal shelter I knew had it compounded in stock. I was an hour into my drive when a totally different person at Heller's Pharmacy called to say the prescription was there ready for me to pick up! Had the nerve to tell me it had been there for two days! They called the only number I have, the one I had just had them search for this prescription with! Such an epic waste of time and my pet got sicker until I picked up the antibiotics from Sacramento. Now I know where I can get it locally - CVS!! CVS even told me I could use GoodRX for pet meds and saved me money when I had to pick up a refill. Don't go to Heller's, it's Hellish!
