I recently was helped in the flooring Department by Maria in Fremont, Ca. She was so kind and very informative. She made the purchase of the vinyl planks very pleasurable. I appreciated her tremendously and also enjoyed her good attitude with my needs.

Electrician here. Stop by to get some wire for a job. Just a small cut piece needed. Waited ten minutes after asking for an associate to cut the wire, then asked again. They said there’s only one associate, so I left to find an electrical distributor.
Home Depot doesn’t care about you, or your time.
If you’re an electrician, save yourself the time and just go somewhere else

The staff wasn't helpful n 2 out 3 staff members with whom we interacted were rude and sounded arrogant at the questions posed to them.

2 weeks ago, I was at this store in nursery area. Plants were wilted and some were dead - in desperate need of water. I mentioned this to cashier who did not understand English very well and had no idea what I was talking about. Today, June 20, 2024, 10:48 am, same scenario. There was a lady watering so I had to walk through water trying to find what I wanted which I did not find. I attempted to speak with a so-called store manager, to no avail. He could have cared less. Tried to tell me all plants had been watered. We had an argument. I told him the watering should be done BEFORE the store opens so customers are not walking around in water to look at plants. Again, he could care less. Why in the heck does Home Depot hire people who do not take pride in their work?

I want to give a shout out to an employee either from the indoor garden dept. Or the lumber dept. His name is Brent. Yesterday I went to buy my dad garden gloves. The employee in the outside garden area told me they were in the inside garden dept. All I could find there was a small display of only one type but not the ones I wanted. I found a young Gentleman in the area named Brent. I asked him if there were any different ones. He stopped what he was doing and took me to an entirely different area, near the tool isle I think. He showed me where they had a variety of gloves and explained to me that there are different uses for different types of gloves. He pointed out the ones that said for general uses. Those were the ones I went there for. I never would have found them had I not asked him. The fact that he stopped what he was doing to walk me over to them rather than just telling me what isle they were on, showed me : example of how customer service is supposed to be. It's hard to come by that anymore. So thank you very much Brent from the indoor garden dept. Or lumber dept? I'm sorry I forgot which one it was. I left a happy customer!!

It's hard to find knowledgeable employees to help. There are too few and many of them are still training up. If you need advice, best to go to Dale's (not Lowes, which is worse). If you know what you want and where to find it, Home Depot will work for you.
