I always always find nice brand name clothes, shoes and household items and accessories such as scarfs and purses. They have an excellent selection and the prices are good. They usually have colored tags sales where certain items are a percentage off.

Had a less-than-pleasant encounter with CLAUDIA at HopeTHRIFT. She was quite rude, snatched an item from my hand, and refused to sell it because the tag fell off after I tried it on. The atmosphere with the other ladies wasn't much better - quite ruthless. Remember employees, it's a thrift store, not a designer boutique!

As with all thrift/antique/secondhand stores, some days you can find many treasures and some days you don't find anything. I personally have not tried donating anything here based on the reviews of the process not being the easiest. I just go in and browse and don't interact with any sales associates except during the checkout process. I haven't had any issues with any associates so far. I enjoy perusing the books, children's books are 75 cents and adult soft covers are $1.99. It's fairly organized most times, it would be nice if the size discs on the clothes racks were bigger, or more obvious. I like the divisions of the different departments. Pricing seems a little insane sometimes. You can score good deals but it's hard to tell when that could be because there are some items that cost more than buying them new. For example Dollar Tree items sold here should not be priced higher than $1.25. I am not talking a couple of cents higher. Many times I have seen these items marked $4.99 or higher!!! I understand that rent and overhead costs have to be paid but not at gouging prices of certain items. I feel like that there must be a pricing sales associate that goes pricing happy and just goes crazy with setting prices. Overall it's a good shop. Check their hours and days they are open online before you go. Parking is ample. In the same shopping plaza as Walgreens and Bronco Billys Pizza.

You have severely gone down in quality in the last year, first of all getting rid of your color tags and 50% off is just a bummer, I won't shop there anymore you guys over price everything, whoever is in charge of pricing items just way over price. You can buy a dress at Ross for $15-$20. why would I go to thrift store and buy a used donated dress for that price. The store is very unorganized and staff is not very polite. You lock your fitting rooms during store hours and your donation drop off hours is all over the place. I'm done, I'm not coming back here anymore. I'm just so disappointed because that used to be my favorite store.

Great prices, great to good condition clothes, great cause, efficient and friendly enough staff. Just know that the dressing rooms close at 5 pm. Worth the drive to Fremont!

Great selection and reasonable prices. Not a lot of toys but plenty of electronics, houseware, and DVDs

As a long time customer of HOPE, I really want the store to be successful and remain in the community. I visited yesterday (a Sunday) and there were hardly any shoppers. My guess is that the high prices and the low discount (25% now instead of the former 50% for color tags) is discouraging shoppers. They get their stuff for free and should price things to sell. Instead I saw lots of clearly used items that were priced as if they were new, and low quality items that were not remotely worth what they're charging. See photo below of an ink stained scarf as an example. I was at another thrift shop in the East Bay just the day before and it was bustling with customers and had long check out lines. I'm concerned Hope will go out of business based on what l saw. The store is nice and clean and they have open dressing rooms. It also supports people with disabilities and keeps things out of the landfill. But with their inflated prices and so few customers, how are they going to survive?

Other than the 50% off for certain colored tags and the 30 day exchange policy, it's unfortunate that the quality of items here is lacking. I like that they sell furniture. But lots of really worn out clothing (with stains!), electronics with corroded batteries, busted cameras.. Not much selection either. I came here a couple times in one month and saw a lot of the same items still there. Prices are on the higher side than I'm used to. They keep some items behind the counter. For example, I inquired about a used Starbucks mug which they were selling for like $28 (!)

This thrift company as a whole is hit or miss but this specific location has some of the best items around from week to week. Every time I come here I always find plenty of items that I can use for personal use, and a handful of items that have an excellent resale value. At this location I have found everything from NASCAR jackets and jerseys to vintage toys from the 50s and 60s.

Precovid, it was 50% all tags except white and whatever was the latest color. Then it was 50% off three of the colors and today I go in a long time since October to see it's now only 50% off one color. Times are tough. Overall, still good prices compared to Savers and Goodwill. No sales tax and they apply coupons to your account. I'm picky about Thrift stores on cleanliness and they seem cleaner than most I've been to!

Wanted to update everyone on the hours: Closed Mondays and Wednesdays. Clean, well organized store, but more picked over than other locations because it is across the street from Irvington hHigh School and sees quite a bit of foot traffic.

The 1 star is for the obese Caucasian cashier with the red hair, glasses, and wobbles around because she seems to struggle walking. Such a RUDE person and never seems like she wants to be at work. Grumpy old self.
