Our kid is studying here and we are extremely happy with his progress. Some salient points:. The school gives personal attention to each kid and provides study/homework material matching his/her skills. My kid is learning well here without any pressure. And I would like to add that his knowledge is very advanced for his age. His teacher ensures he is interested in his studies and learning well even while she is meeting the educational needs of other students. . School takes care of wellbeing of their children. When our kid was bullied by another kid, school took immediate notice of it and acted on it even before we raised it to them.. My kid loves going to school for the overall welcoming atmosphere. . The extended care program has helped my kid gel well with older kids. I also see that it has improved his personal and communication skills by playing/interacting with them. So he is with his age peers during the school time and with older kids at extended care.. The school's parent bodies are a pleasant group to contribute our ideas/time with no pressure. And the school events held from time to time are fun filled. . Children are barred from using offensive words.I strongly recommend this school. And the most important thing is it is less than half the fees of other private schools like Stratford or Fremont Christian school. Do not be carried away by the school grounds or old buildings. Instead meet the teachers and then decide for yourself. I am really glad my kid is studying here.

The teachers and staff are friendly and welcoming . The class sizes are small and kids get individual attention. They focus a lot on discipline and individual respect. We have a great communication with the teachers and staff. There are good number of options for extra activities in school. They provide safe and fun environment where they help each student achieve their individual goals.

What an amazing, welcoming and caring school! This is a small Catholic school in Fremont that welcome all kinds of students, and cares for and provides a quality education for each one. I have had two children educated through eighth grade here and can't say enough good things.Definitely recommend.

Tucked away in a quiet Fremont neighborhood is this jewel of a school. My eldest attended K-8th. My youngest is currently a student. It really is not just school but a community. They really care about the families and children. Besides excellent academics, they also support them spiritually and emotionally.

Rare small Catholic School tucked away from the metropolis of the big city. This school actually has Dominican Sisters on campus. Both in teaching and administration. The children thrive in the environment both academically and socially. The kids make friends fast and the teachers have a passion for the children's academic and social growth. The environment lends itself to fostering parent - teacher relationships very easily. Communication is constant and clear. Highly recommend this school k-8

This is a great school. We explore the option of many other schools and definitely learned to not judge a book for its cover since my first impression of the school was that it needed help on the outside, but the amount of time they spent with us to understand our son and explain what they will do to focus on his growth this was a huge thing for us. All other schools did not invest much time to get to know our son. This school is like a big family and they truly want to ensure your kids grow in the academics and values all together. Notice that every parent that experience this school, continues to enroll the rest of their kids. Great job to everyone and we are grateful to be part of this OLG Family!!

For almost a decade, on every school day, I have driven several miles past the highly-ranked public school in my neighborhood in order to bring my kids to Our Lady of Guadalupe School (although I hate traffic, and our public elementary school is an easy walk from our house). In fact, when I was checking out another private school before our daughter entered first grade, the vice-principal actually said to me, "Wow, THAT is your public school? I'm impressed you're considering private." No, I'm not a masochist; I just love OLG School. I work in Fremont Unified schools, so I have a lot of respect for my FUSD colleagues and our students and their families. FUSD schools have a lot going for them. Still, there are benefits to attending a smaller, private school, and a parochial school in particular, that cannot be found at even the best public school. The school is small, welcoming, and truly a community, offering many ways to become involved. The Chess Club is great (my sons have enjoyed it for years), the Art and Music teachers are superb, and there is a wide variety of girls' and boys' sports offered through the parish's CYO. (However, you do not need to be a parish member, nor does your child need to attend the school, to participate in CYO). Class sizes are very small compared to those in FUSD schools. To OLG's credit, the school also resumed full-time, in-person learning almost a full year prior to the FUSD schools doing so, which for my kids, at least, was a life-saver, both academically and emotionally. Also, I am delighted to say that the school has a new principal, someone who has taught for several years and who is also a mom of elementary-school aged kids. Therefore, she understands not only child development and children's educational needs but also respects and listens to parents' concerns. (To say her predecessor failed to do that is putting it politely. The school still had its many good qualities, but those were mostly despite the previous principal, not because of her.) So, although I have loved the school for years, I believe it will continue to get even better under the new leadership. Finally, if you are considering a private school for your child, you may be surprised (in a good way) what a bargain OLG's tuition is compared to other private schools in the area. Catholic high schools are pretty pricey nowadays, but Catholic elementary and middle schools remain far and away the best bargain you will find when it comes to private education.
