My son has been coming here for the past few weeks. He is excited to have fun while also learning how to better his own skills. Matthew and the whole staff are very friendly and informative. The assessment process is very informative on what skills your child has and where they could also improve.

I am delighted to share our fantastic experience with Sylvan Learning Center. Over the last couple of months, my two boys have shown remarkable improvement in both math and English, advancing by a couple of grade levels in each subject. My children have all (3) gone to Sylvan. As they predicted, Claire advanced 1 grade level in math within her first 3 months! She continued to attend, adding reading (where she was already advanced) because she loved it. Sylvan has consistently proven to be an effective and positive learning environment. They have great summer programs - here your child can focus more intensively on a specific skill or proficiency. This prevents any summer backslide. My little one has just started, so that she can fill in some math gaps identified by her 1st grade teacher, before 2nd grade starts this fall.
Kids love it because they are empowered to learn with enthusiastic supportive teachers - the prize wall also helps their motivation! ;)

Sylvan helped my daughter in 2013 while in the 5th grade and going into 6. She was a straight A student from then on and is almost done with her studies at Davis. So far our son is doing well and in no time will be caught up to 5th grade. Thank you. The remodel looks fantastic.

My daughter attended their writing program for most of seventh grade. Overall her writing improved. She did complain that a lot of tutoring was on an iPad and not one on one. She started 8th grade and I was hesitant to keep her in but I paid for hours in advance so wanted to take advantage of the tutoring. Unfortunately she had to have major surgery during beginning of the school year so couldn’t attend sessions due to multiple competing medical appointments. I waited about 5 months see if she could return to tutoring and by that time she didn’t need it. So I called and requested a refund in late may. I didn’t get refund until 3 months after. And that’s only because I had to keep emailing them and calling. Bottom line be careful paying for hours up front because good luck getting your money back in timely manner! Look at these reviews- it’s happened to other people.

Sylvan has really helped my son catch up from COVID. He needed an in-person tutor to work with him in both Math and Reading and he has shown a ton of improvement. Admin wise Erin and Anu have been really fabulous, their communication is great and they will adjust when you or the teachers provide feedback in specific areas that need help. Great program overall!

I've already started to see improvements in my child's academics. My child has already mastered 30 skills in less than a month. I was hesitant, at first, due to the cost of the program. Thus far, it's been worth every penny spent.

This center was suggested to me by my son teacher. As they say teacher know best. I’ve tried other center and I’m looking forward to seeing the progress. I can’t give a honest review but in 6 months I think I can expect results. My son is enjoying the learn style and Tutors and that is super important. A child needs to be happy to excel. The journey has been short. But will update result and reflections on program.One plus point is that sylvan reaches out to child teacher to make sure needs are being met.

I am writing because my heart is so sad for the way that this particular Sylvan Center worked with my 10-year-old daughter and then chose to handle our family crisis. I communicated my concerns along the way and sought to work through any issues and see things from their perspective. We chose to hang in there despite realizing that the people helping my daughter were not doing a great job helping her learn and grow. But then, our family had a crisis that led to our daughter no longer being with us. As you can imagine, our grief was profound. Instead of treating us with kindness and compassion, they would only cancel our remaining sessions after taking out the majority of the money that they said that we owed them for canceling without a 2-week notice, and then the original assessment fee, etc. Maybe because I posture in the world with great empathy and compassion, this whole situation is just mind-blowing. I normally don't write negative reviews. I wish this story with Sylvan would have ended well. and that I could have sung their praises for being beautifully kind in the midst of everything.

We started Sylvan reading and writing program during Summer break. My son loves his classes and the team is approachable and professional.
