My 7 year old son attends coding class with Coach Jimmy for one hour per week via Zoom, and he is having a really good time. He stays engaged and learns new skills each week. After the class is over, he usually spends 15-20 minutes working on the skills he just learned and showing me what he's done. If my son has questions in between classes, we email our coach and he gets back to us within 1 day with a very thorough answer. The staff have been very accommodating with scheduling the first trial class, rescheduling the recurring class to a different time, and re-structuring my payment plan. Thank you so much for your care and effort with my son and we hope to be able to attend coding class in person soon.

My 11-year old son started classes several months ago, remotely (of course.) He's studying Python and Java script with coach Jimmy, who is amazing:* Keeps my kid on track and focused during sessions (I feel I'm getting every penny's worth).* Assigns a couple of challenging, yet reasonable homework assignments, and provides constructive feedback* And here's the best one - my son is a gamer who loves Roblox - a highly graphical, first-persion, immersive experience. AND YET - Jimmy makes console-based problems that illustrate funamentals of computer science... INTERESTING! Sorting lists, detecting palindromes, math problems, algorithms, etc. He takes the time to explain the practical applications of these problems (gaming-related when possible :) )Detailed lesson notes and assessments are sent out after every class, too.

My 7 year old daughter loves her coding class. I can see her improve every week. She is enthusiastic about the projects she does. Coach Milana is a wonderful coach and is interactive in a fun way. She let’s kids explore and encourages her to think. I will definitely continue her coding classes.

We've been having coding lessons with coach Marcelo for almost three years now here at the coder school Fremont. We started when our child was in the third grade and we were in the phase of exposing him to different activities to see which he liked and would stick with. The sessions here have turned out to be really far beyond our expectations and is now one of the only outside classes he has stuck with (and the only one he has stuck with willingly). I think there are a lot of classes that kind of hover around introduction to coding, but here they have a great introduction process and does a good job fostering interest but also the subsequent progression and followup to actually become coders is really great. Our son was able to get a 5 on the computer science A AP (normally taken in high school) exam at the end of fifth grade and also passed the oracle associate java certification early in sixth grade. This is with the coder school being the only coding classes he takes as he has had no CS class in school yet. He did do test prep with the test prep books but coding was entirely learned here. Also most teachers will know your child for about one school year so we are very grateful that coach Marcelo was kind enough to provide a meaningful recommendation for our child based on multiple years of knowing him and got him accepted into the Davidson Young Scholars program.
You can imagine we feel extremely fortunate that we found this coder school.

I signed-up my 10 year old daughter last September/October. She loves it. She loves learning from teacher Alex. According to my daughter, Teacher Alex is fun and she clearly explains the functions she's teaching. Every class, she learns a new type of code. The staff, when we used to go to the office/classroom, were always friendly. They're also very accommodating particularly when we need to reschedule classes. My daughter now takes classes online and still with teacher Alex. While they don't see each other in person, the learning experience and quality are still exceptional.

My kid has really progressed and developed a strong interest in coding while going to Coder School. Her instructor has been great, letting her make projects and games that interest her; while also making sure she’s learning new coding concepts and commands as part of this.

Coder school is a small and intimate facility to help your kids either start early or supplement their current efforts. I brought in my 10 year old son to gauge his interest with the free trial class. He worked with Luis for an hour and was hooked. The curriculum is good and well suited to keep the kids engaged and allows them to progress at their own pace. The setting is involved with one coach for two kids. The coach (Ryan) has started with my kid developing some AR/VR game which is what interests him the most and will allow him to pick up some coding along the way. There are other kids who are developing using more advanced stuff using Python or other languages. In a nutshell, to each his own. I am happy that my kid is interested and eagerly comes here every week. The staff is great and it has been a really positive experience so far. I would recommend this place for any parents who are looking for their kid to get into computers or to help them refine their skills.

It would be really good if the course has some metric or targets defined every 3-4 months. That keeps the focus for young students.

My son has been attending since this summer and he likes the coding classes. Their curriculum seems such that kid won't feel additional stress when they are already over burdened with school. Coach Joshua presents interesting challenges in class and also gives small amount of home work. Another good practice is parents receive a brief summary after each class .

My boys have been going to this school for over 1 year. They both love this place. Employees are really nice. I've given 4 star before but reviewing again and giving 3 star. The reason is ever since their instructor left they had different instructor every week. This week they complained that they cant barely undestand their instructor. They said she cant barely speak English. We are hoping that they will have consistency with the instructor in the future.

My sons enjoy bringing their own projects to work on at Coder School. They can go in whatever direction interests them. What a great model for learning coding and enjoying it.

This place is amazing. My teacher William is a awesome teacher. You can seriously learn a lot about top-tier programming languages, and it’s simple. The conditions? Fresh air, nice people, beautiful place.. I honestly think of it as home sometimes. If you want to have a future in programming, this is the place.Noel ZemeneCurrently Learning Python
