Lovely locally owned hardware store. I highly recommend you stop here for little items before you head to Home Depot or Lowe's. The two gentleman working there are knowledgeable and very helpful. They also sell local honey.Support Local! :)

Took back their dinosaur of a carpet cleaner way cleaner then when I got it and they said no refund of deposit. They had no intention of refunding my deposit. Will not ever go there again. They cheat people. Customers beware only gave one star because I had to!

My support ends today…I’ve been a patron for about four years, primarily because I like to support small businesses. Cobbs has always had a very small selection, but I preferred to support them over the big box stores even if their prices were nearly double…. Their customer service was always subpar as well, but whatever…I purchased a Drain King line tool for 61 bucks, mind you you can buy these at Lowe’s for under 30, but the tool was the wrong size. I brought it back the very next day hopping to exchange for a smaller size, which they did not have in stock. I did not have the receipt with me, but the individual behind the counter was the same person who had helped me with the sale. He stated that he did in fact remember me but that he would not refund me since I did not have the receipt.This individual identified himself as the manager, and stated that he would only provide me with store credit. To me it seemed unreasonable that the manager himself sold me this product, and remember our transaction, and would not provide me with a refund. I let him know that if he refused to provide me a refund I would no longer support Cobbs. He was I effected by this.When I support a small business, I expect to pay more, but I expect that I’m paying for a better customer experience. That never was the case with Cobbs….Hope that one sale was worth losing a regular customer.

I've been going to this store for 20 plus years and never had a problem until this morning. I arrived and there were no other customers in the store. I informed the him I needed two keys made.The cashier was a Hispanic male. He informed me he couldn't touch my keys and I needed to take them off the keyring myself.I'm a woman with nails and asked him for a screw driver to open the keyring. The cashier them says yes they are for sale. It's unfortunate when things like this happen when you want to support a small business. What happened to basic human kindness? I hope other customers have a better experience than me.

Easily the best small hardware store in Fresno. (It's like the Tardis in Dr Who). If Cobb's ain't got none, you gotta go to National Hardware. But don't tell 'em Jon Darling sent you, 'cos they threw me out for loitering.
