I booked an SUV on March 17, 2024 through the Hertz website to pick up at the Yosemiti International Airport office in Fresno, California, supporting the reservation with my wife's credit card. On March 18, when we went to pick up the vehicle, they did not honor our reservation because the physical card did not have my wife's name printed on it. They recommended that we go to the Hertz office in Clovis, Fresno, and they did not rent us the vehicle there either because the The card was not useful, however two days later, they did charge a kind of fine (no show) of $147 USD, which was because we made a reservation and "we did not go to pick up the vehicle." That is to say, we could not rent the car because the credit card was not valid, but they charged a fine that is not appropriate because if we went to get the car, with the same card that "did not work" to contract the rental. The worst thing is that there is no one to complain to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HERTZ AT ALL. THEY ARE STEALING US $147 USD

I made a reservation for a vehicle on March 17 through the website to pick up at Fresno Yosemite Airport on March 18. When we went on March 18 we found many restrictions and they did not want to rent the vehicle, among other things because supposedly my credit card did not meet their requirements. Today they charged me for a "No show" and I don't understand why they charge me that if we DID show up, it's just that Hertz did NOT want to rent us the car and they still charge me? It's a theft. My card was not useful to rent the car, but to charge me for a "No Show" when I did show up to pick up the car there, my card is useful.I do not recommend it! There are other options within the airport that will surely offer better service "without unexpected ghost charges."

As I stated on the call yesterday 3/13/24, I did not put diesel in the gas tank. Attached is the electronic receipt and a date and time stamped video of me using the correct pump on 13 March at 4:32am PST provided by Circle K. I paid $78.78 for 17 gallons of unleaded gas. Several gallons of gas spilled on the ground due to the car's sensor failing. The pump didn't shut off.On 26 Feb 24, I paid $176.28 on Priceline's website to secure a vehicle with Dollar on 3/7/24 with a drop off of 3/13/24 at Fresno Airport. I put flight number AA1381 on my reservation at the time of purchase so the car rental company would be aware of flight changes as indicated on their website. The remaining $72.34 was due on the day of pick up. On 3/7/24, flight AA1381 from DFW was delayed for 4.5 hours due to severe thunderstorms. It was 11:30pm when we landed at Fresno Airport, and there was no one at the Hertz car rental desk. Enterprise, Budget, Alamo and various rentals were still open at that time. I was forced to pay an additional $65 for a one day rental with Alamo because Dollar did not give me the car that I paid for.I paid a total of $412 to rent 2 cars, including the $79 spilled gas due to Hertz faulty vehicle and $20 in gas for a round trip to Fresno in the Alamo car rental. I wasted a lot of time and money for something that shouldn't have happened. If Hertz agents had stayed at their kiosk the same amount of time as every other car rental agency and ensured their vehicles were properly serviced, then none of this would have happened. As the customer, I should not be found liable for Hertz’s incompetence, poor service and lack of vehicle maintenance. Parts of my short visit home were ruined due to multiple mishaps with this car rental.Hertz has now falsely accused me of damaging their vehicle with diesel fuel (despite the video evidence proving I used unleaded fuel). Hertz does not want to take responsibility for their agents giving me a car that shouldn’t have been on the road. Paul made me wait 10 minutes before he issued me a car that had just been turned in. 10 minutes is not enough time to complete a thorough maintenance check on a vehicle. They would have noticed diesel fuel in the vehicle if they had serviced it before giving it to me, but they were rushing. Please escalate my email to Priceline and Hertz leadership so that I can express the multitude of issues and request a refund through them.

Well, I'll probably be editing this in awhile, but quite upset is an understatement at this point. Our flight comes in an hour early and we go to the counter and immediately, we are told, you are really early, we have no cars UNLESS YOU WANT TO "UPGRADE" to a Mercedes or Caddy at a price DOUBLE what our reservation price was. No discounts for veterans or free upgrade since we are to early for our reservation. Zero consideration and now because they have NO CUSTOMERS we watch them twiddle their thumbs and they watch us just sitting here watching the clock. You would think today when there's a ton of car rental companies, you'd be grateful and take care of your customers. Not Dollar, it's F the customer.

Worst experience- too many other choices out there. Choose a different company!!!! They have the worst customer service if you have a problem. Took over 5 hours of our trip with customer service and still no resolution

If you stand in line and someone is a gold member they get to jump you in the line. I waited 20 minutes for a guy who just walked up to take my place in line. Seems like classism to me.

Extremely rude customer service from Gwenda L Jones. This ancient Karen even had the audacity to challenge me to make a complaint about her negative attitude. She even refuses to apologize for her poor behavior. I am not sure how she even has a job because there were numerous complaints about her hostile behavior. My company and I will no longer do business with Hertz. One star was being nice

We booked a car and even got confirmation and went and said they were sold out. Then she said the manager told her not to take new reservations after we had one. I then told her if we can speak to management and she said no and hung up.

I usually LOVE Hertz and am treated very well but this was the worst experience I've had thus far.I chose the Managers special and received a hybrid Jeep, which was pretty cool.When I got in the vehicle, the scent bomb smell couldn't cover up the cigarette smoke residual smell.I went back to the counter to see if I could get a different car.The man who helped me looked irritated, and finally came out to inspect the vehicle. He said, "its fine, you just smell the car bomb smell". My daughter smelled it as well. He TOTALLY invalidated my request for a different vehicle and said, "there's no smoke smell, you'll be fine". When I asked if there was any type of freshener I could use, he said, "there's nothing wrong with it."When I returned the vehicle, different staff person, but he could barely wait for me to get my things out, even though i was on time/early for return. He jumped in and took off with the vehicle without so much as a friendly acknowledgement.The worse customer service I have ever experienced from Hertz, but I can't blame the company, per se, as these workers seemed to be managing 3 different rental companies. Hated this experience.

Wife’s car broke down on Thanksgiving. On Friday I went on hertz website and reserved a midsized car for her for a week so there was time for her to get her car fixed. I showed up at 730pm and they told me there were no midsized cars, only luxury cars and 7 passenger suburbans available and I would have to pay the difference. I have rented from hertz several times and when this happened before they would acknowledge their mistake and give me the upgrade at the same price as my reservation. However this time they wanted me to pay the additional cost for the premium vehicles. I declined and walked away very angry. They had time to contact me if the vehicle was not available, instead of making me drive 35 mins to them for nothing. I will NEVER use hertz again, and I discourage everyone from using them.

We had a pre-booking but they did not have a car available. They asked us to wait for 15-25 mins, we kept wating but even after 25 mins nothing progressed. We were told they don't have cars and we can cancel. When we said we don't want to cancel they cancelled ( denied service). Didn't even inform that they are cancelling. Pathetic

Our car was nice and clean and we where able to pick out type of SUV. Only bad thing to say is the need more counter help, but everyone was helpful and friendly.
