An amazing and caring staff, I'd never been before my last visit but they took great care of our pet. It was a Rainbow Bridge visit.

I was a longtime client at this veterinary office, bringing my pets there for annual checkups and care for several years. In the beginning, I was very satisfied with the knowledgeable, caring service the vets and staff provided. However, during a recent difficult period when my dog developed a chronic cough and illness, I felt the quality of care and compassion declined some. When one of my dogs first began coughing and needed medication for pain relief, the vet appropriately prescribed what seemed like a reasonable treatment plan. But securing refills and follow-up care as his condition persisted proved frustrating. Connecting with staff to continue his medication was difficult at times, requiring repeatedly explaining his symptoms. The front desk service felt less patient and thoughtful during this challenging period.Ultimately, my dog passed away, which was incredibly hard. In retrospect, I wish the office had proactively followed up during his treatment to check on how he was doing and offer support. While they provide excellent routine and preventative care, their care of pets with chronic or critical needs could improve. However, I appreciate the years of good service they initially provided and hope they can get back to that level of attentive, compassionate care I once knew. This could help other clients dealing with sick pets feel supported during tough times in the future.

This place is awesome. They help my brother get reunited with his dog and it was so beautiful the way they helped us.

Friendly staff and doctors. They're very knowledgeable and don't try to push you do do anything you don't want to. Took forever to find a vet I trust and I trust this place with all my fur babies

So, we used to bring our pets to Shield Stone. It was a great place to go before the vet retired. Afterwards, it just didn't seem as good. The new vet showed no true compassion, imo. When we brought our cat there, the vet didn't seem at all interested in making an effort to save her. We made the decision to send her back to kittie heaven. This place screwed that up. They were supposed to give her something to relax her, but it made her stressed. The whole experience turned into a nightmare. I had to hold on to her while they gave her the shot. Afterwards, I expressed how let down I was with how they handled my cat. The new vet just had a look like he was waiting for me to finish so he could just go about his day. They didn't like what I had to say, so I got a letter suggesting I go elsewhere. Poor vet got his feelings hurt that I didn't thank him for the botched procedure. No worries. Plenty of great alternatives out there. Shield Stone *used* to be a great place to go to. Not anymore.----------------------------In response to Shield Stone's reply. Not sure what's up with all the dishonesty. After initial evaluation, the were no offers for testing nor treatment. I'm the one who asked if the growth could be removed, I was told no. I asked if anything else could be done, I was told no. I was the one who had to ask for my cat to be euthanized. My wife was with me. She couldn't believe the incompetence from vet & staff. Went in for my dog, the staff were very rude, but I never insulted them, only commented on the vet, who wasn't there. No "doctors" were present (at the desk). And, with all the dishonest claims made, there was no denial about how they screwed up euthanizing my cat. Talk about distracting from an issue, by playing the victim.Requested copies of my pets records via email. Nothing. I felt Business & Professions Code, Section 4855 had been violated, so I contacted the Veterinary Medical Board after waiting over a month. Got my records. Shield Stone's excuse? Oh, it was a misspelled email address. Really? They couldn't just hit "reply", so my email address would automatically/correctly be loaded? Right! If they can't even reply to an email correctly, I really have to wonder about their vet skills. Actually, I don't wonder, I've seen firsthand, and my cat paid the price. Now, found a great pet hospital with mature professional staff & seasoned, compassionate vets, at reasonable rates. Wish I'd known about them sooner. My cat might still be alive.

My first time coming here, they made Roxi and I feel very welcome and the Dr. Shim, gave Roxi an exam and said she was good just a little under weight, because she became picky about food because my husband gave her table food and was refusing her food and also we brought home a new member to our family, also she probably got into sometime that upset her tummy, but the Dr.gave me his recommendation to get her back on track. I am very thankful that they got us in the next day of my phone call. My family also bring their fur babies here. Thank you so much.

Came to Shield Stone Pet Hospital today for the first time, due to an injury to my American Bully’s left eye. I took him to a regular vet twice & spent $350 & his eye never healed. After the visit to Dr Hwang, my dog is opening his eye for the 1st time in almost a month. Dr Hwang was great in the way she handled my dog and was super attentive & gentle with him. I highly recommend Dr Hwang!!

What an experience. Our female husky was showing symptoms of pregnancy. We took her in on May 30 2023 for an ultrasound. They told us it was a false pregnancy. She had 6 puppies 3 weeks later on june 12. 6!How do you miss 6 heartbeats? Babies are healthy and beautiful! Thank God we were home to guide her and experience her first litter with her.But this vet office is definitely not worth coming to if they can't even detect heartbeats.Such a disappointment.

They treat my fur babies with care and compassion! They’re very patient with my babies and even myself, they don’t mind answering my thousands of questions. I can call them anytime with a general question about my cats health or diets and they’re very accommodating. My newest baby is now 8 weeks and they’ve been doing routine checkups with her since 5 weeks so they do have experience with little ones!
