Standard Sweets & Spices is a favorite spot offering both a grocery store and a restaurant serving Indian cuisine. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the owners, who are extremely nice, welcoming, and passionate. The store offers a variety of both fresh and packaged groceries, including imported and local goods like produce, freezer meals, grains, and snacks, all decently priced and unique. In the back, the restaurant serves some of the finest Indian food. The butter chicken is a favorite, described as creamy, tasty, and with super tender chicken, though there was one instance of it being bland. The garlic naan is also a favorite, though sometimes light on garlic and once was burnt. Other noted dishes include the flavorful fish pakora, delicious mango lassi, dal, chicken curry, paneer paratha, and chai. The Indian coffee is also highly recommended. Portions are good, with the butter chicken and rice fitting for two. Service from the owners is quick and nice, with them sometimes offering chai on the house and helpfully recommending dishes. Customer service from the kitchen is described as alright. By the register, a glass case displays a variety of Indian sweets sold by the pound, like the pistachio burfi, which are definitely worth trying. It is a place highly recommended for both groceries and restaurant food.
