I have been a member for over 50 years. This credit union has been always been efficient and welcoming. The mgr managed more checks for me even though the credit union was only allowed so many for retired members. I always enjoy doing business with my credit union,

They do suck. Greatly. They're only a good account to save and forget, not do daily transaction from.

I like consolidating my loan but adding a third party bank to my account has been bullshit. It has trouble connecting to my bank

Absolutely the slowest credit union. I'm in end of purchasing my home. NGFCU had one job and a whole 24 hours to do it. Of course they didn't do their job and took forever to wire my funds to Escrow. This group apparently verifies the information. I have already wired the good earnest to this company, what was the problem?!? I had a whole weekend of planning to move in that has to be moved to next weekend. I did talk to someone named Michelle today and she was an absolute angel, so understanding and kind. Other reps actually said the wire was done when in fact it wasn't. I'm going to take my large sum of money and move it to my Bank of America account since this credit union continuously fails me. I had been having issues with my card for months. I would check it but it wasn't locked. Well come to find out they put a limit on my card because they thought they saw possible fraud. Now that's okay, what isn't okay is they never actually reached out to tell me this. It has been so frustrating having to Zelle my other bank just to purchase anything. Again, not a good credit union. I've been a customer for almost 20 years now and I'm done.

I have to go here weekly to bi weekly and it is suck a slow process just to make deposits and transfers. The tellers don’t help you with any issues if you have one. They tell you that you will receive a call back 24-48 hours later which never happens.Horrible customer service.

Apparently you can't mess up here. I was a member for 7 years and I fell on hard times and I paid my debt and they denied me an account after told I could reopen after it was paid. DO NOT RECCOMEND

I'm honestly not sure why there are so many bad reviews here, so I am going to add a good one. I started an account about 25 years ago, and I have been banking with them since. I got into some debt because I had a low-paying job for a while and then was drowning in interest charges. Northrop let me transfer over my debt to a WAY lower interest rate credit card to help me out. Now, they let me have a loan to pay off that credit card, to make the rate even lower, and make SURE I paid it off in a few years, at which point I will be debt-free! Because of their loan, and because I never missed a credit card payment, my credit score is now 820. Once I'm debt-free in a couple years, I will be able to start investing my money and adding to my 401k more aggressively, and possibly even buy a house within the next 5 years. I'm so grateful for them! They may be a little slower to respond than some banks, but it's a credit union with one branch, c'mon. :)

Let me say, I highly doubt that Forbes has an account with NGFCU. I have had an account with NGFCU since June of 2009. They were pretty good back then too. At this time, I can't believe how fast the customer service has plummeted in the last year or so. I call to speak to customer service and after explaining the problem I'm seeing and then receiving so many apologies, am I'm turned over to someone else who then promises me a return call, but they don't call. I end up calling again and again to try to resolve their problems. I'm retired and I don't know how anyone that works can make the time for all the calls to correct all the problems within the NGFCU and also go to their own work too? I had fraudulent charges reversed on my CC. I was told I could keep my same card. Well, after a visit to my eye doctor, my CC was indeed rejected at check out. I had to call NGFCU again, not the other way around, you would think they would call me to inform me it was canceled. So, here comes more apologies and again, no explanation. I'm the one who is sorry that now I have to go through the trouble of changing banks. I have tried to overlook NDFCU's mistakes for way too long now, Problem with them is, they do not train the employees how to do their jobs, they all just seem to learn to say, "I'm so sorry that happened to you". And that's it, no return call!!

I always enjoy working with the credit union. The folks are friendly and do their best to solve any problems. I think they deserve a five-star rating. Gwen Brock

What a disgrace to federal credit unions. My grandfather established two accounts for myself and my father. These accounts weren't utilized for many years as we moved. As I became my fathers care taker I decided to consolidate matters / accounts. I called and was instructed how to close the accounts. I mailed my requests as instructed on 03/13/23 to the address provided. They were not received. I called and was told to email the documents in which the files were too large; no matter how I tried to format the documents. I was told three separate times that a representative would call me back regarding my inquiries. I did not receive any call backs and had to continuously follow up. I faxed over the documents and they came out blurry on their end. Now I am having to mail them to another address with signature required mail option. At this point I have already spent well over $20 to ensure the documents arrived. Now I'll be adding an additional expense to close these accounts a month after my initial attempt. Absolutely ridiculous.
