I have never left a review for a company in my life but today I had the worst experience I have ever had. If I could give negative stars I would. I got a call on Wednesday to schedule a drop off time for my delivery of cabinets. The woman on the phone told me that they could deliver either Friday or Monday but could not hold longer than Monday. I told her that Friday was the only day that would work because I am leaving for vacation Monday morning and will not be around. She ensures me I will receive a call from the driver 1 hour ahead of the delivery since I informed her that this is property was under construction so I do not live at the house currently. The delivery window was supposed to be between 10am and 6pm. At 3:37pm today (Friday) I called and asked about the delivery since it was getting close to end of window and I hadn't received a call. She said it was out for delivery and I should get a call 1 hour ahead as promised. I got in the shower and at 4:06pm I received a call mid shower telling me the driver was sitting outside the house and did they have the right address because no one is there and it looks under construction. I advised yes that I had previously stated that which is why I was waiting for the call. (I live 20 minutes away). She told me the driver did call but actually called the wrong number. She also told me that the driver said my package is over 1000 pounds and the driver might need different equipment to get it off the truck which might mean they had to deliver Monday. I said that was not an option since I'm going away. I was then told the guy was going to get it off the truck another way and was asked if I could I leave to get to the house now. I said ok I will leave immediately but it would be 20 minutes because I live far away. She told me not rush because it would take him some time to unload it and that it wasn't my fault. I left the house immediately and arrived at the house 25 minutes later. Tumbleweeds might as well have rolled by because there was not a cabinet or a delivery person in sight. I proceeded to call the woman back and was met with her voicemail continuously. I finally called the general customer service line and got through to someone who was very nice. She called the driver and he said sorry if I wasn't informed but he needs a guy with him to get my delivery off the truck because of its weight and that he left and is not coming back today. I told her that they would have to hold the shipment until I was back from vacation and she said there is generally a fee charged after 48 hours but sometimes they would waive it. Now, I am sitting outside an empty construction site and have to wait for a call during my vacation on Monday to reschedule so that I can rearrange a whole extra day during my work week to wait for a delivery and hope it comes. I am really hoping that I receive better service come Monday as it is not my fault that I did not receive a delivery call and not my fault that someone did not think when loading my 1000 pound package onto the truck that it might require equipment or multiple helping hands. It is also unacceptable that I drove and rushed here to be met with a voicemail box and no one to meet me. Finally, I refuse to pay any money for the multiple errors made by this company. It was not my choice to use this delivery company as my delivery was scheduled by the cabinet maker but I will be sure to inform them of the horrible experience I had.

poor customer service.. extremely rude & not helpful. Shipment delayed and not able to show any sense of urgency. I need a human not a robot

We recently sent 30 (identical) cases of a commodity on a 48 x 40 pallet, machine shrink-wrapped. We don't know how SAIA is able to give a dimensional scan that shows 55.50 x 46.50. Our warehouse guys have been stacking pallets daily for many years. There's just no way a pallet with identical cases of rubber gloves would bulge out 7 inches from 48 inches. We consistently get upcharged by SAIA, and our Rep keeps changing. When they update their 100+ pages Rules Tariff, it's silently online and uninformed. We will AVOID USING SAIA because there's just too many of these issues. J. W.

The worst freight service ever!!! Avoid using SAIA!!! Below are my horrible experiences with SAIA: 1. On the expected delivery date, they contacted you 1 hour before the chosen delivery window telling you that you need to prepare a check. Such a short notice!!! And then the freight arrived 3 days late. 2. Their custmoer service number takes hours to get through. Even when you choose to let them call back, you have to wait 20 min on the line before they ceonnect you to a representative. 3. I paid the delivery 3 days before their actual delivery, but the driver was not informed. I provided the payment confirmation number, but the driver and their customer service still cannot confirm my payment! It wasted me 30 min and the driver takes the freight back!!!! 4. When I request a receipt through their customer service email, it took 5+ converstations keeping asking me the information that I had provided in the first email. Their customer service just does not want to read your email (and it's very short). 5. I paid the freight in full online before devliery, and the customer service told me there is another $200.00 increase in the bill. And I need to pay additional $200.00 to get the receipt!!!!!! I will never use SAIA again, and warn all my friends and collaborated companies to avoid using SAIA.

It was written before that this company is an "absolutely garbage of a delivery company," and I agree. I purchased a 208-pound elliptical through a vendor that used Saia LTL Freight as its delivery arm. I bought the equipment expecting it to be delivered in two weeks. However, the supplier sent it in early, and I tried to work with Saia to hold the freight for a week or send it to a friend's house in the area. Finally, after 2 days of discussion and involvement from the original vendor, I was told by the original vendor that it would ship it to my friend's house. But that did not happen. Instead, they sent it to the original shipping address. This was a careless decision since the property is vacant. In addition, I have no picture to prove the delivery happened. This whole experience worries me. How can a company be so careless and insensitive? Who would do business with this type of company? If it's their policy to deliver packages no matter what and not listen to the client's needs, I can only imagine how awful their company culture and employee morale must be.

I was contacted mid last week by a female representative who was setting up a delivery for Recteq smokers and grill. She asked me which day works best for me out of Thursday, Friday. Or Saturday. I stated Saturday and then she said ok and gave me a confirmation time from 8am -6pm for that date. Long story short I took off of work and waited for my delivery that never came. I tried to reach out to the company and also tried the tracking info for the site which had a customer service chat button which was currently unavailable. I didn't even receive a phone call to say that the delivery was gonna be late or not even show up. The bottom line is that this day was wasted because of one simple call asking me and confirming a delivery date from the company.

I remember this facility and worked when it was Viking Freight. It was deja-vu to say the least and it was late night to early morning, but everyone I encountered were very nice. I also was able to hostler unit released from trailer and repaired for safe usage. ?

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Worst experience ever! I'm so angry I can't even take the time to go into it - but 3 weeks of trying to get something returned and they bailed on picking it up again after I waited for them over 10 hours total and then when I called dispatch about them just bailing with no explanation at the last minute - she copped an attitude on top of their incompetence!!!!

Had a delivery shipped to a good customer....Several pallets. Damage was noticed immediately and pics were being taken as the driver was still there, but unfortunately they didn't make a note on the BOL of potential damage. Their fault, new guy in the warehouse....conceded. Filed a claim under concealed damage with pics, but it was denied. Paid for the delivery and re-ship to boot. Sales rep who was a friend never responded to my calls or emails. out 1500 bucks as a new business and can't really afford it. Word to the wise ....mark EVERY Bill of Lading subject to inspection, potential damage, or do not let their driver's leave until you have broken down every bit of the delivery. That will cost them money as well. We will not use them again. Shitty form letter response to the claim. Will re-post in as many places as I can.

Was supposed to get my shipment delivered today between 12pm-6pm. Received a call that my shipment wasn't put on a truck this morning. Supposedly I'll be getting it delivered tomorrow. From what I'm reading in other reviews, I won't hold my breath...

Saia will damage or lose your shipment, and if this is not bad enough, They WILL NOT pay for it! I shipped 6 boxes on a stretch wrapped pallet to my customer. My customer signed for the shipment not knowing how many boxes should be on the pallet. Once received, they call me looking for some missing product. We told them the missing product was in box 5 and 6. Box 5 and 6, they asked? We only have 4 loose boxes and no pallet? Realizing we had two missing boxes, I filed a shortage claim with SAIA. 30 days later, I get the "Denial Letter". I found out SAIA only looked at the "Delivery Receipt" my customer signed when the product was received. My customer said they were delivered 4 boxes and they didn't know there should be 6 boxes. Once I got Saia to agree they lost 2 boxes, they said they will pay me $1.00 / Lb. The 2 boxes totaled 10 Lb. and had $402.00 worth of product in them. They did tell me they would give me $8.13 of my freight back for a total of $18.13. In short, they lose $402 worth of product and pay $18.13 for it. I get stuck with the bill and having to reship my customer replacement product by Fed Ex. NEVER AGAIN will Saia get another pallet from me! Saia has lost our $40,000/yr. account over this and other issues.

Absolutely garbage of a delivery company. They have had my package for 3 days. Was told It was getting delivered today via tracking number and customer representative even told me as well. The 5:30 time slot came and went for me To check back with the tracking number to find out I need to reschedule and that my package was checked back in the LA terminal at 5:52. Thanks for wasting my day. I "had to be home" For this. Waste of $300 shipping.

I created a Yelp account just to leave this review. I had scheduled a delivery pick up last week for today, 02/08/2021. The woman whom I spoke with assured me it would be picked up. Come Monday, 02/08/2021, and to my dismay, the drivers never showed up nor even have the common courtesy to call to notify me of cancellation (I had to call and find out my pick-up was cancelled). This is rather infuriating as I loaded almost 5K lbs packaged hardwood floors on the curbside after a snow storm for them to not show up or call.

If I could give negative stars I would. A shipment came in five days ago, called and got an appointment 12 - 6 pm. Took work off they never showed or called. Got another appointment for the next day, never called or showed. I tried to call them but after going through several menu choices, the customer service didn't work, what a surprise. Called the next day for an appointment, fourth day in a row now, still waiting. If you are a shipper and you value your customers, never use this company again. I will not shop with a company who uses this terrible service.
