If you love Japanese food or products, Tokyo Central should be #1 on your list. I stumbled upon this major Japanese market while in search of Japanese croissants. The market is massive with dozens of isles filled with your favorite snacks, beverages, desserts, and grocery goods. They even had an entire section dedicated to matcha! You can also grab a hand crafted meal to-go in their food court. They have a variety of vendors including a fried chicken, ramen, pre made sushi, and a Japanese bakery. Can't wait to return and stock up on my favorite Japanese treats. This spot is a true gem and should not be overlooked.

Another Japanese store branch based in Gardena. They offer choices of meats, fish and several Asian style grocery items. They have a food court serving hot Ramen as well as deep fried items to eat and to go. They have prepared sushi of several choices and a lot of rolls. Each store from the food court offer their own brand of Ramen and several other choices. There is also a bakery store offering several Japanese style breads.

This Faerie Queen needed a quick and easy lunch. Tokyo Central to the rescue! This is a great location. I visit often and we are always happy to see the fresh fish options! We enjoyed a sushi lunch for far less than if we had eaten at a sushi restaurant. We also appreciate the Hawaiian options. Stay clear on weekends, but the weekdays are a perfect time to visit. The end.

Great way to spend an afternoon. Food was delicious, people were friendly. The dining area gets a little crowded, so you have to move fast to grab a table.

What a gem! This is a really neat asian market with a lot of stuff inside! So much variety in the items. I came for the food court, and it didn't disappoint. The treats I got were a true perfect five stars. I will be back again. Highly recommend a visit here!

Ordered Osechi this year. It's a bit different than the homemade Osechi I'm used to. However, this is ordered online (November in my case). Picked up on New Years Eve from customer service. VERY easy to do. Their store portion was of course an absolute ZOO! Which was expected. Thankfully I shopped early in the week for other items. Ordered the 3-tiered Osechi. For $225, it's totally worth it. It appears to be a frozen product from Japan. However, items were tasty & relieved us of a lot of work!

What a great store. I've been to other Tokyo Central stores and this one is by far the biggest and cleanest one. So much variety in hot deli, sushi, and snack aisle. They even have their own dedicated miso aisle! I spent over an hour here looking at everything and I sure hought go by a lot where. Staff super friendly and things are always in stock. Prices on everything and clearly marked. Upon entering this store you have many various little stores that seem ramen udon or sushi. Bathrooms are also clean. On the right side you see claw machines where you can play and get goodies. At the back of the store is the fridge or frozen ramen area with a special aisle for various miso. Fresh product also in the back area. Front areas were tons of snacks and mochi so that was good. Far left area was not food but more dry goods and products like makeup to dishes to skincare. So much to see and displayed well. Plenty of parking around this store. Security guard in the front so you feel safe. Best of all is if you buy cold or refrigerated items, they will give you free ice or ice packs to take home so your items won't soil. Will definitely be back here soon!

This is a huge Tokyo central! They have everything! It is really nice and you can probably wander around for hours checking out what they have to offer. They have a nice food court area too! Great market and great food!

Good slections but cashier will not put ant product into you bag. Competitor MITSUWA or NIJIYA got way beyond customer service compare to TOKYO CENTREAL. MARUKAI got better customer service but make sure you aware that MARUKAI and TOKYO CENTRAL is not a same company. Hope cashier will be trained to least help put a product in to shopping bag. Every time when they scan complete scanning item, we pay by credit card and still putting stuff in my own bag and cashier start to scan next customer item and lines gets stuck. Not a normal behavior for grocery store.

This used to be a Marukai when I was younger but the outside and inside all look completely the same from what I remember, just with a different name! They have everything from housewares to skincare to snacks and food...tons of snacks and food! I love all the cooked food options they have too. This is a great place to grab quick meals for lunch without having to get fast food or go to a restaurant.

This is always the place to go when I need to stock up on Japanese food. It is fun to just wander around and look at the food and other products they have. It is usually pretty crowded. I usually get through the check out pretty quickly

The good: I got Moomin kids' crackers and Mario chocolate kids' snacks from here as well as some pre-peeled garlic for under $1.50. I love how many kid-friendly snacks Japanese people have. This store has an area called Hobbyland that sells Sanrio stuff as well as other similar gift items. There's also a food court area with a ramen place that was Michelin rated, Beard Papa cream puffs and more. They sell porcelain ceramics and small home appliances like water kettles and hot pots. This is a medium-sized market that is slightly cheaper than some other Japanese markets. It has a kitschy feel inside with lots of colors, blow-up bear toys and signage everywhere. The bad: Some of the food court stores weren't open when I came. The interesting: I've been to their location in Torrance as well and liked this place more because of their food court and gift section.

Tokyo Central is like Costco, it has everything! I like to shop in this location, it's bigger and have more items. I also like their food court. Good service! Everything is good in here! The only down side is you end up buying too much and spending too much when you get out of the store!

Tokyo Central is owned by Japanese discount store company Don Quijote ― often called "Donki" by the Japanese. Don Quijote stores are known for selling everything from food to electronics to sex toys at bargain prices. That helps explain the large section of non-grocery items for a supermarket: Tokyo Central not only sells rice but the rice cookers to make it. It's not close to being a Japanese Super Target ― it doesn't even have the full amount of odds-and-ends a Daiso store carries ― Tokyo Central has a fun assortment of Japanese items for the home and gift-giving on top fresh meat, seafood, and produce and Japanese pantry staples like noodles, curry mixes, and the like. There are even a couple of aisles devoted to foods from the Japanese people's favorite tourism destination, Hawaii, with coconut pancake mix and Lion Coffee from the Fiftieth State. If one knows Tokyo Central's sister stores, Marukai Supermarkets, then this will all seem familiar... but bigger. Tokyo Central is basically a Super Marukai, complete with a bustling food court with shops selling chicken karaage, ramen, tonkatsu bentō, and takoyaki. It's a great place for any Japanophile, gourmand, or shopaholic to spend an hour or so ― and if one is all three, getting out of there is going to be a real challenge.
