Awesome lodge on the Smith River and Patrick creek confluence. I have never stayed at the lodge, but it was a favorite stop on the way back from Brookings. The clam chowder and fresh baked sourdough bread were amazing. Then it got sold and we can never find it open. Hence the 3 stars, it used to be a 5 star place.

Great place with a ton of history! The new owners have put a ton of money and effort into reviving the old "feel." Definitely worth at least a night and brunch. Ask them about the haunted room, I've been spooked by it since I was a young child haha.

We booked weeks in advance. On arrival at 5pm, nobody. We knocked on the door and rang the bell for almost 30 minutes. I walked the entire property and nobody. Left to find a working phone. Couldn’t find one so returned. After 5 more minutes, the owner answered to tell me they had no services and nothing open but we could stay in the room - no other guests in main hotel and nobody working there. When we got to the room, it smelled of mold and grease (interesting to note that another guest had the same observation). The final issue was that there was no working internet (signal read 0.1 on speed test) That would be ok but the website said they have wifi and I needed it to work. When I went to find the owner to discuss, she had already left and we were alone in the hotel. The situation was so bad that we left and drove the two hours to Grants Pass. When I wrote the owners for a refund the response was “no refunds - period!” Tried to reason and explain that we could not stay in such conditions and that it was not cool to leave us hanging for so much time, but he refused.I would strongly discourage people from staying. I get that it’s an old lodge, but don’t mislead people on the website and don’t leave your guests in the lurch.

My bride, Katie and I want to thank Tina, Terry and their staff for hosting our wedding yesterday (7-8-23). Everyone involved went above beyond the call of duty. They helped create the most memorable and fun experience we could have possibly hoped for from start to finish. Their kitchen staff prepared an amazing feast. TriTip, chicken, veggies, potatoes, salad, pasta and rolls. All cooked to perfection. Tina created a beautiful, picture perfect, charcuterie board. Terry groomed the landscape creating a beautiful park like setting. This is a "Must check out" venue for any special event. Thank you Tina and Terry for helping make our wedding day perfect!

We have wanted to stop here for years but they were not dog friendly. Great news, they have new owners who welcomed us and our doodles. This historic stop is a must do on the way to the Redwoods or exploring the countless outdoor hikes. Enjoy a piece of history, nestled among the forest along a beautiful river. The service was outstanding, and the cocktails were perfect. During our visit we enjoyed live music while watching the sunset over the mountains. Life just feels calmer here. You can stay in the historic Hotel in the original rooms, or in the newly updated dog friendly rooms. This is a great launching point for outdoor adventures. We look forward to returning soon.Food & drinks: Enjoy an amazing cocktail and delicious food in an historic hotel overlooking the rustic mountains, and gorgeous river.Noteworthy details: Now dog friendly

Amazing new owners. Very welcoming and dog friendly unlike the previous owners. It feels like going back in time when you visit here. It is nestled along a stunning river, breath taking forests and they make amazing cocktails!! Add this to a must stop when in the area.

So glad we stopped by on St Patrick's day on the way to the coast. Good food and good service for fair price. Cool historic place well worth checking out.P.S. I was told by the owner that rooms are in the process of being fully remodeled and will be updated shortly.
