We truly enjoyed our stay at the American River Inn. Each room is beautifully appointed and well-maintained. It was quiet and peaceful. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the 2nd floor balcony, as well as dining in the backyard. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not functional. The breakfast was tasty and copious. The host was kind, very accommodating and welcoming to our dog. We would return anytime.

Nicest kind people. Beautiful beyond belief! Each room so unique. Takes you back to the old days when all was so beautiful.

We had an amazing experience hosting a company luncheon at the American River Inn.Jason and the team were gracious and accommodating. The food was delicious and hearty - just what we needed after a cold day out in the field. The intimate dining room was the perfect setting for a small group conversation about the future possibilities of our industry.Cannot recommend more!

We had a wonderful stay at the American River Inn. The inn is beautifully decorated in period peices. A exceptional breakfast every morning complimented our stay. Jason, Genene and Amber were delightful hosts. We look forward to our return. Dick & Kate

My mother and I wanted to have some mother/daughter time. We drove up to the Inn from Oroville Ca. When we arrived we were greater by everyone in the parlor. Last minute we made a change to which room we would take. We decided to take room 11 it had 2 twin beds and was on the first floor. The breakfast the next morning was mediocre. I couldn't pin point if the scrambled eggs were air fried or microwaved. I expected a little more effort beings the Inn had only 6 guests for breakfast that morning. Back to the beds. Twin mattresses these days are rather inexpensive and the mattresses we slept on were beyond horrible and are in desperate need of replacing. The Inn was decorated beautifully but if it's a Bed and Breakfast then both the Beds and Breakfast should be top notch in my opinion if you want guests to return.

We stayed at the Inn several years ago, and was a totally delightful stay. Now the Inn is not as well kept, still old and very Victorian, but needs serious up keep. The innkeeper appeared to be not really interested or friendly when we mentioned her hospitality hour was not set up, and she said she forgot to have the girls pick up anything, and when Covid occurred she discontinued doing it. She needs to have the website changed. If we just wanted drinks, we could go a cross the street to the bar. When we requested at least an ice bucket for cold sodas we had with us, we were given a blender top to use, because her excuse was her ice bucket had a "hole" in it. Our room did not have a hairdryer, no amenities for soap, shampoo, or conditioner. The kitchen was closed for the evening, no access for even coffee and not an offer to make any. Breakfast ok, not the worst, certainly not the best. We are pretty seasoned travelers, and are aware of what makes for a delightful stay. We can find a lot of things to do in remote places, but Georgetown unfortunately offers nothing, and the innkeeper was not helpful, and her hospitality lacking. Doubt we will ever be back unfortunately.

We have stayed at the Inn several times long ago when it was owned by Will and Maria. This time we were visiting friends in Georgetown and needed a place to stay so we decided on the American river Inn. Did not want to stay at the Rock Creek Inn due to past negative experiences I must say the Inn has a unique feeling. Even though it was May, it was 90 degrees in town. There is no a/c so hot weather can be uncomfortable. Screening the windows would help as the only way to cool the room at night is open the windows, but this allows the knats to come into the room.We noticed that the screen door to the porch downstairs was torn. How hard would it be to replace this? The owner was in Tahoe, so his mother was in charge. We asked about the wine and snack hour promised in their web page. We were informed the mother sometimes doesn't feel like doing it. "She is an old lady " was the explanation we got from the young lady employee. The breakfast was adequate, certainly not gourmet as advertised. The two breakfasts we had were identical. Scrambled eggs, 2 sausages, English muffin, and a small dish of fruit.A hint. Walk down to the VFW if the basement bar is open. There is a neon sign that is on if they are open.

Horrible horrible horrible hostess. Place is lovely but customer service just renders our vacation into a disaster. We were very respectful to this place, given this place is old and squeaky, but nicely decorated. The very contact with the rude hostess just threw that lovely feeling right away. I think she might be the owners’ mom. She is very rude to the guests and to the caretaker who knows the basics of customer service. It’s like you have to live in the spare room of a mean relative. There was no relaxation or enjoyment that we expected. She straight up came to us to demand price increase, because we are the only one using the shared bathroom? I was so livid. A piece of advice to the owners, keep her away from the business. No money from me to B&B again after a traumatic experience like this.

I’m so disappointed in the customer service here. My husband and I were looking forward to a nice little getaway and decided to book a room here. It was $150 which was a bit pricey for a small room with no tv but there were other perks… we thought. We were looking forward to the hot tub and cheese/wine hour but after we booked, we were told both would not be happening. I tried to not let that alter my stay there except the last final straw was when I verbalized to the inn keeper that we were bringing our dogs into our rooms now. I had checked before and directly on the website it says pet friendly with a big paw. No mention of any fees anywhere I could see. When I booked via the phone, the front desk woman never asked if we were bringing pets, which if there is a fee, you absolutely need to do as a worker for a hotel. I know because I’ve traveled for work for years and this is part of their booking process. We’re at the hotel, 2 hours from home & the innkeeper says it will be $30 per dog. Nothing waived, even when I explained. I was a bit shocked. Based on the principle alone, we drove the 2 hours back home. Here’s the kicker. I call this morning, calm and straight to the point when I inquire about my refund. The woman who answered insinuated that I tried sneaking my dogs in and that I failed to mention to her I was bringing dogs (her job). The audacity is beyond me. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service was really unfortunate. We were really looking forward to stay here.
