“My family and I recently visited Lake Sonoma and had a great experience at The Ranch. When we arrived, we learned that due to gale-force winds, campfires wouldn’t be allowed. They had sent an email that morning, but since we were busy preparing for our trip, we didn’t see it until David (who I believe is the owner) explained the situation.

The Ranch immediately offered us a full refund for the inconvenience, as well as an alternative option: a propane-powered fire pit for $40. We decided to go with the propane unit, and it worked as well as it could under the circumstances.

What really stood out to me was how David handled the situation. Instead of shrugging it off or leaving us without options, he went out of his way to make things right. That level of care and professionalism speaks volumes about his leadership.

The scenery at Lake Sonoma is absolutely beautiful, and thanks to the outstanding service at The Ranch, I can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable outdoor experience!”

“My employers went to Capo Creek for the first time by recommendation of SingleThread Inn where they were staying. They loved the VIP chef's tasting experience with Mary at Capo Creek and shared this with me:

Our VIP tasting at Capo Creek with Mary was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality, setting the stage for an experience that was both indulgent and inspiring.

What makes Capo Creek so special isn’t just the incredible food and wine pairings—though those were absolutely phenomenal. Each bite and sip felt meticulously crafted, showcasing Mary’s deep knowledge of how flavors interact and enhance one another. Her background in science and medicine shines through in the way she thoughtfully curates pairings, balancing acidity, texture, and aromatics to create something magical.

But what truly elevates the experience is Mary’s story. In an already competitive wine industry, she carved her own path, overcoming hurdles that would have stopped most people in their tracks. From her humble beginnings to the grueling journey of medical school, she pushed through countless challenges to build a successful practice. When that was suddenly taken from her in a business deal beyond her control, she did what only a true visionary would do—she turned lemons into lemonade (or in this case, grapes into world-class wine!). She set out west, embracing a completely new adventure, and poured her heart, soul, and scientific expertise into building something special at Capo Creek.

If you’re looking for a tasting experience that is not only delicious but deeply personal and inspiring, Capo Creek is a must-visit.

We can’t wait to return!”

“My partner and I stayed at the Madrona for two nights in March. It was one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time. The mansion is gracious, welcoming, modern, and cozy all at the same time. If you have the opportunity, I encourage you to wake up early and spend some time in the main parlor as the sun creeps over the hills. It's incredibly peaceful and leads your mind to wonder what it must have been like for the original owners to live in this gorgeous place. The grounds are beautifully gardened. Spending time on the front porch or strolling the grounds fulfills your soul. We want to come back and enjoy the pool in warmer weather. The staff at the Madrona is top notch. Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. If you need a wine tasting booked, check on local restaurant, or ask advice on things to do, they are there to help.We are looking forward to our next visit!”

“This is more a review for the adjacent trail system than for the Villa itself. Which is gorgeous, and apparently (from other reviews) a fantastic place to get married. I hope, in fact, that I get invited to a wedding here someday so I can experience the bespoke service and delicious nibbles that prior reviewers seem to rave about. But the Saturday I visited here, there was no wedding in sight. Just a steep set of gorgeous and relatively well-maintained trails that's clearly a local Healdsburg secret. The trip to the top of Fitch Mtn is no joke, but worth it on a clear spring day. Bring a little picnic -- perhaps even a bota of local vino -- and bask in the remarkable views of the expensive real estate arrayed out below you in the charming if slightly froufrou town of Healdsburg. p.s. While I don't intend to get married anytime soon, I am considering getting a dog. And from the looks of things this is a very pup-friendly open space area too. :)”

“As a wedding photographer, I can confidently say that Ru’s Farm is hands down one of the easiest and most beautiful venues to work with in Healdsburg. The natural light here is absolutely incredible throughout the entire day - no matter what time you’re shooting, you’re guaranteed gorgeous, soft lighting that makes every shot look magical.”

“One of the biggest, best, and most comprehensive galleries in Northern California. They show world-class artists at openings and have a large assortment of art from past shows available. This gallery knows how to be a first-class gallery, beyond the ordinary. A+ and worth a visit.”

“Only 9 holes but we played 18 using different sets of tees for the "back" nine. Great little course full of history and not full of themselves. Very relaxing round with a nice little range for warming up.”
