Looked around a bit and one of the sales people came over. I had a lot of questions about various brands of foundation, primers and eye makeup. I restocked on all the basic items with some new products but kept with the Clinique line for foundation as a lot of other brands all high end bother my sensitive skin. Clinque also had one of the silkiest primers I've ever felt. The sales person really knew about all the lines Ulta carries - I was impressed as my question were quite involved. No surprise my five items came to about $249.00. It's a bit ridiculous when I use it at least 3 times a day. So far the only company that usef to carry sweat proof makeup was Clinique and it was fantastic - Sadly it's been discontinued. It was a successful trip to the Gilroy Ulta, The employees are very helpful , the store is clean and all products shelves were neatly arranged. Best of all they carry a large selection of name brands $$$$

The girls are rude and don't help you. When I asked questions, they just stand there and give dirty looks and judge you. Also for the love of God, do not go get Your hair dyed there. They make your hair look worse than before coming in. They can only do decent haircuts but they can't do any dye. I went for a balayage and it's my regret now. It's worth it to spend 300 at a nice salon then 150 for poor quality that you're going to have to get redone anyways at a new salon. This is one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had and I have had my fair share.... Can zero stars be on option for their hair stylists? PLZ DO NOT GO HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. Unless you want to come out crying and filled with dissatisfaction disappointment and regret. I will be spreading the word for people to NOT go here, unless I get a full refund, or free complimentary services for this to be fixed.I wanted bronde, Carmel balayage. Instead I got bright orange brassy gold orange coloring. It's so ugly. And now I need to spend more money just to get it fixed. I even showed a picture, and the stylist said she can do exactly that and was super confident and reassuring. So mad. Then I overheard her as she was blow drying my hair, telling the other stylists that she messed up and didn't dilute the product to the right measurements orSomething while the other stylists were explaining oh it's a learning curve and looking at my hair funny, which made me extremely uncomfortable and worried. I came here and Im not surprised that they have bad reviews. They do not greet their customers like other stores do. Instead, they sit their bullshitting with each other blocking the isles. We walked around the store a few times looking completely lost trying to find products we were looking for. We found some of them. When we went to check out she asked if we found everything we came for. I told her no and showed her what I had in my cart on the online store. She looked up some things and said it was online only. It's was my birthday and I didn't get a code so contacted customer service birthday gift, was told a full/deluxe size product. When I went they gave me a sample size .16oz product.

This Ulta location is great - tons of parking, friendly and helpful employees, store is clean and well organized, never had to wait too long at checkout.But this review is specifically for Jenifer E in the salon:I booked an appointment with Jenifer for a next-day signature haircut. I was sooo nervous about going from long hair to just-past-the-shoulders, I almost cancelled, I almost turned the car around to go home. But Jenifer was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable - she listened to what I wanted and looked at my inspiration photos. She explained what she was doing every step of the way and gave advice on how to style my hair and what products to use. I love my hair Jenifer! Thank you! I'll definitely be booking with you in the future!

For me this Ulta has not been a good experience is the only one close so no too many options to go somewhere else when they have a special they don't give me the gift I always have to ask , and usually I have to be asking or looking for someone one to get help if I have a question not a good customer service but the only one with the makeup I use unless I want to drive 40min to shepora

I like coming to this Ulta when I can, because the customer service is always attentive and the women are so kind. I was fortunate enough to have Sara(h) help me color match for my mom's foundation. Not only was she lovely with awesome make up, but she was informative and professional. As I went through the store about 2 more employees asked if I was finding everything okay or if I needed help. Then, arriving to pay for my products, another employee was able to help me come up with a choice between 2 products and was very kind, as well:)

One day I visited the ulta store and saw how the manager treated an employee badly and I didn't like it, I felt bad for her. The manager should have more leadership.

Went to Ulta to buy a gift and hair spray sales girl asked if I wanted apply for credit I would receive gift so I did was approved young lady handed me a gift into my hand and manager came and told me I needed to give it back because that gift was for the next day I could not believe it even after having it in my hands manager made me give it back because of one day horrible service as far as the manager young sales girl looked embarrassed and apologized

Came in for Chanel mens cologne and needed help. Had to go look for help. So many employees in a group chit chatting and not paying attention to their customers. This place needs a serious supervisor with experience and to train everyone in customer friendliness and enthusiasm.

Benefit Brow Bar: Speacialist Eddie Flores. Normally when I walk into this ulta I expect no acknowledgment what so ever unless Vanessa L. is on shift.Today however amazing! Went in with my daughter for a brow wax after Nail Salon made a mess of them and my daughter kept telling me all day after we left "don't forget to write a review because he was the best". (she's a teenager pretty much everyone sucks right now but not her brow specialist) He took the time to explain and ask questions, I didn't feel like it was a brow appointment I felt like I was talking to a friend casually. Walked us thought everything and we even got some great skin care recommendations! He's a keeper !

This is the first time I've gone in a store and someone really helped me find my makeup and Jenna, the Urban Decay rep was so sweet and helpful. I will be back. She showed me fabulous products but she wasn't pushy. I loved todays experience

So, only my second time shopping here. I asked for help since it has been awhile since I have bought makeup. The 1st girl was abrupt and not helpful.. then came upon Madi! She was awesome, helpful, and so very helpful. She is an amazing asset, you are lucky to have such a professional young lady working for you in Gilroy, CA

Long rant coming: I highly doubt this employee works here anymore. It was Aug 2019 and I was in a pretty bad place. I was going to get my first pixie cut as a way of acting out I guess, and I was worried about how my face would look without my hair to hide behind. I came to this store and encountered an employee, an older woman, maybe in her late 40s. I don’t know what it was about her but she was so kind, the way she spoke was so soothing, and she genuinely made me feel better. She directed me to the LA Girl blushed babe palette for blush and contouring colours. I cut my hair off and wore that palette regularly. At one point it broke on a flight and my fav colour shattered. I mashed it back in and continued using it. I kept using it until it was finally gone. I got a new one when I saw it was it in the clearance bin, but I put it inside of the old box. Every time I look at that palette years later, I think of that woman, and how much I wish I could tell her what her kindness meant to me when I was truly alone. Thank you kind woman for giving me a reason to smile when I had nothing to smile about.
