I had my 2004 Volv Xc90 2.9T towed by AAA to this location for diagnoses of Vehicle issues. They estimated the work to cost around $4500 dollars for a simple CV Axle replacement, absolute highway robbery and down right thievery. I was told it's not worth it to replace part and that they would buy the SUV from me for a 1000 dollars. Scam artists. During the Towing process the AAA driver hooked the vehicle on the metal transmission cooler line breaking the metal oil cooler line. The AAA road site assistance driver took fault and agreed to repair my vehicle. AAMCO agreed to repair vehicle with said damage. When I picked the car up I was told the repair had been made on the transmission oil line. The car had to be towed again from AAMCO to my home. When the car arrived to my house I inspected the repair, AAMCO had not repaired the damage, but had attached a regular extension hose, (not recommended and dangerous) to fix the issue. When I called to confront them about the fake repair, I was told the car is not worth the repair and that I'm not being fair to the AAA road site assistance driver. The arrogance and hypocrisy of these people is deafening. Charging me 4500 for a 500 dollar job and telling me to get rid of my car, while on the same token telling me it's ok for others to destroy my items and not pay. STAY AWAY! Unbelievable.

Brought my car in for a tune up and replacement of motor brackets, and let me just say... these guys are the BEST! They went above and beyond, my car has never been so clean -- all done in addition to the work under the hood. On top of that, they were so friendly. Being a woman I'm always nervous I'll get bamboozled by industries like this, but I'm telling you they are genuine, good at what they do, and provide top notch service. Wouldn't recommend any other place in Glendale, this is the one!!

If you are reading this, I recommend you go somewhere else. To start, they seemed friendly enough. We took out car there, knowing that it was a transmission issue we had dealt with years earlier. It started with a free diagnostic, that turned into 360.00 and when i asked about what was included in that price the manager Sadu, began to argue with me telling how had hard working mechanics who needed to be paid and I told him that wasn't in question i just wanted to know that the 360 would cover he finally understood what i was asking calmed down and told me it was for a in-depth diagnostic. Two days later, that price turned into 1400.00 for them to take the transmission out (again still not actually knowing what needed to be fixed or what the final total would be). After that was done another day later. I called in the morning, and he said he'd call back and didn't, I called again in the afternoon, and then he told me it would be 6450.00 to fix the transmission. (The car is a 2013 Nissan versa sv it is not even worth half that total anymore) when asked why it was so much and why it was triple what it had cost a couple years earlier to fix he said it the pandemic problem and that's just what it cost. We told him no on the final price that it was outrageous that we were better off just getting a whole new car and cutting our losses. That was a Friday, and he said he would have the car ready for pick up by Monday evening. I asked it I could be any sooner, and he said we'll try. I didn't here from him again until Tuesday saying the car was ready and that the bill was 1495.00 I told him we'd be there as soon as we were able because we didn't have the money just yet (because we had to buy a whole new car) he said fine. Then Thursday he called me leaving a message full of attitude saying how we needed to come get our car that we where wasting his space and if we were just planning on abandoning it because people do that all the time when they can't pay his prices he owed him the pink slip so he could sell it properly. I texted him back that he is offensive to even dare to think that we now would just be giving him our car, and I had told him that we would be in to get the car friday. Reminded him he said the car would be ready on monday and i didn't hear from him until mid day tuesday. He responded by saying that if we didn't get the car after Friday, he would charge 50 dollars a day until we came and got it. And like i told him, were there Friday morning at 845am, and I paid our bill in full (which, frankly, I don't think he even deserved).I think this place is a scam, and from what I've read from other reviews, we should have never gone there in the first place. That was my mistake. I find the owner nice until you ask a question, and then he gets defensive and argumentative and rude. Go anywhere else.

only one star because i cant do negitive stars. i'm going to try and make this as condensed as possible, please do not trust your car to this garage! i took my bmw to aamco at 1444 e. colorado, glendale ca,91205, the car was dropped off10/2021 because it wouldnt pass the smog. the car was diagnosed 11/2021 and robert told me that the upper engine needed replaced. being an older woman, i have no knowledge of cars and trusted the name aamco, wrong decision! they kept my car from 10/2021 to 01/2023 (being a trusting person i believed when every two to four months when they would create reasons why my car wasnt finished, and each time i accepted the excuses). during this time my car recieved 4 parking tickets, it was involved in a hit and run, the trunk was broken into and personal items was stolen (by one of their own mechanics), enrique, the owner told me he seen it when he reviewed his cameras, and because it had sat for so long the convertable top was damaged and the cherry on the cake, they commited fraud. in january '22 they asked that i pay a deposit for the almost $9000.00 bill because the cost pertaining to the new upper engine replacement i needed was getting expenssive, i paid them the total upfront "cash" so i wouldnt have to deal with it later, my mistake. in oct '22 i let it be known my patients had expired and i wanted my car, but of course they said it still wasnt ready. i contacted several lawyers, who wouldt help me and told me just to pick my car up (thats hard to do with no engine or wheels), and that since the convertable roof, trunk, and side panle damage was repaired there should be no issue and parking tickets were paid.(no one was concerned except me that the damages my car occured, even though fixed, lowers the resale value) i contacted my aaa insurance company, they couldnt help me, (as i assumed aamco's in general was backed by aaa ins., nope, this aamco is not aaa authorized facility) finally when i got my car back (01/2023) enrique (the owner) and robert (the shop mngr) assured me they went over the car with a fine toothe comb and my car was perfect. once i got on the frwy leaving their shop, i felt "it", my car wasnt running right. i went directly to foothill auto care center @ 4 w foothill blvd, arcadia that i had possitive experience within recent months, plus they have experience with more high-end cars and fair priced. they took the undercover off it was filled with oil, (the trip was only 5 miles) with further inspection in the next couple days, they showed me the parts on aamco's w.o. that was supposed to be new that they replace, nope, aamco actually painted my old parts to make them appear new, even the painting wasnt done good! they cracked my long block by putting the wrong size bolt, the bolts in general that was used are the originals, they werent replaced, and the top part of the engine isnt new, and they also created issues that didnt exist prior, the list is to long of what they wrote down that they did and charged me for and didnt, and the things they damaged because of mistakes they made. i did contact robert at aamco asking for my money back, robert told me to contact their insurance, (enrique refused to talk to me) robert admitted on the phone with me " yeh, i guess we f'ed up". their insurance told the garage manager at foothill auto care what aamco did is blatant fraud, and the insurance company hasnt given an answer as of yet whether they will pay since it was fraud on aamcos behalf or pay a portion, which if they do the number i heard is no where close to the $9000 i need returned now i guess small claimes court just because of greed, dishonesty, and plain old evilness on behalf of enrique.

I recently had a rather unfortunate experience when my brand new car's battery unexpectedly died on the freeway. As someone who doesn't have enough knowledge about cars, I often worry about being taken advantage of by specialists who may try to charge more by fabricating nonexistent car issues. However, my visit to AAMCO completely shattered that misconception.Located just a mere four minutes away from where I was stranded, AAMCO proved to be an absolute godsend. From the moment I walked through their doors, the staff went above and beyond to assist me.I cannot express enough gratitude to the entire team at AAMCO for their exceptional service. They turned what could have been a stressful and aggravating ordeal into a positive and uplifting experience. Their dedication, knowledge, and genuine care for their customers have earned my utmost respect.Thank you, AAMCO, for turning a potentially disastrous day into one filled with gratitude and relief. You have gained a loyal customer, and I will be sure to spread the word about your exceptional service to everyone I know.

Spent over 4 grand on a transmission rebuild and when I took it to the dealer they said that basically nothing was done and I need to buy a new transmission for $7,000. STAY AWAY I had to trade my car in at a loss because of these guys they don’t take responsibility for their mistakes and take on jobs they don’t have the knowledge to doService: Transmission

The dealer couldn't find the problem they wanted to sell me something for $3500, thanks to my parents, I always want a second opinion. Went to this AAMCO in Glendale, and they found the problem. Ended up paying only $500. They are the real deal.

Robert has gone out of his way more than once to help me with my vehicle issues. He was honest and helpful and was able to give me some insight on a diagnosis, and took time to explain everything. If I have any future mechanical problems I will go to Robert because honest and trustworthy mechanics/repair shops are hard to find.

Avoid this company if possible. The company kept my car for weeks without a resolution. Robert was looking for the part and it took so long that I even began looking for the part. After he received the part, it didn’t work and now they want to charge me for diagnosing it, shipping for the parts to and from and also they let the battery drain out. My car at least started before I took it there and after they said they can’t fix it, they wanted to charge me $300 and I would have to get it towed from there. I should have never been charged $300 for them doing nothing to the car. The dispute is still unresolved. I even called the corporate office. I want a resolution.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

On 5/10/22, I took my 2010 Honda Accord LX to Aamco in Glendale, CA because of transmission problems, the gears were slipping. Nine days later, Aamco, who's website indicates that they specialize in transmission repair, installed a re-manufactured transmission and then returned the Honda Accord LX back to me on 5/19/22 as fixed. However, as I drove the Honda Accord LX off the lot, the same transmission issues reoccurred, the gears started to slip. I immediately drove the Honda Accord LX back to Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, and was advised to drive it for 100 miles because the new re-manufactured transmission had to get used to the Honda Accord LX. After a few days and having driven the suggested 100 miles I returned to Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, because the same transmission troubles persisted. On 5/30/22, Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, advised me that the problem may be the fuel pump, so hoping that this was the issue, I authorized and paid for this to be replaced. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the transmission problem. Then after waiting almost two months without my vehicle and after paying over $5,000 for work done, on 6/29/22, Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, returned my Honda Accord LX back to me unfixed and unable to drive with the newly replaced remanufactured transmission and new fuel pump. Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, stated, among other things, that there was likely an electrical problem with the Honda LX and referred me the Honda dealership to have the issued diagnosed and corrected because they were unable to determine what the problem was. I was left without a drivable vehicle after having spent over $5,000. On 6/30/22, I took my Honda Accord LX to the Honda dealer and after a few days later it was determined by the Honda dealership that Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, had installed a transmission for a Honda Accord EX model, not for the LX model, which is my type of vehicle, they had installed the wrong model. I immediately informed Aamco of this but Aamco was not willing to assist me. I then filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). After the BAR investigation was completed, I was advised by the BAR representative that Aamco had offered to replace the transmission with the correct model but would not refund my money. By this time, I had a lost confidence with Aamco, the Transmission & Auto repair specialists, and refused to accept this offer. On 9/19/22, I advised Aamco that if they did not return my money that I had no choice but to file a complaint in small claims court so that I would be able to pay the Honda dealership to fix the transmission problem. Finally, after over four months, on 9/23/22, without admitting or claiming liability, fault or negligence, Aamco reimbursed the majority of the money that I paid for work done.
