I needed to get wear and tear work done for my new pre/owned car. Unfortunately I was a fool and let my boss use it while the company van sat because he was too cheap to get it smogged. Needed a catalytic converter to pass smog. Instead my dumb ass got talked into using my car for work, one or two weeks max was told. I'm a team player so I bought into it but folks, don't do it. Work is not family or friends, especially if they don't treat you like one. Words have no value if there's no integrity and actions behind them. Hard lesson to learn, people pleaser that I am.So after I said I'm done, fix than van as promised, I needed to get my car back to the way it easy. Pot holes, steep roads, heavy breaking with trunk full of food products did its toll. I did a a yahoo bid project that these guys don't participate in. But i remember Allstate being a solid company growing up and sent an email asking if I could get work done Monday morning. At closing time on a Saturday! And 10 minutes later, Issac emailed me back. No problem, Monday 8:30am. They are AAA certified so I had confidence already. Monday comes and I emailed Issac I was running late, no problem of course.Got there at 10:30am, let the man and was very impressed by his honest straightforward approach to quoting me the work. Brakes are easier and cheaper to fix if you don't wait until there's metal on metal. That squeak you suddenly start hearing is a layer of material meant to emit that sound, telling you the pads are on reserve and beed replacements. I got a german sorts sedan, not fancy but still a very nice car and want to keep it that way.I agree to the price, added alignment because steering was a little off, pulled to the left ever so slightly. German engineers are precise, car tells you what it needs in its own language. And asked for a checked on suspension, guess why? A noise going over bumps was saying something too. Got all the work done, nice lounge only missing some coffee but fresh water and comfortable couches definitely appreciated. They did a great job, car is driving as it was engineered to. Got a quote for shocks, rear only as the front ones were in great shape. Cargo in the trunk obviously the cause. I will come back but not for the fair price nor the water but because it's run by a man with integrity. No BS, no upsell but all the information. Specific details and explanation of the work they did and will do when o get paid again. Money is tight, Issac helped me prioritize what I can hold off doing for now and what will need replacing, just like German engineers he told me what I'd start to feel or hear the car tell me what it needs. Issac isn't a German car engineer, he is better. He speaks in a language I understood and really appreciate. Come here if you care about you car, if it's out of warranty and dealer repair is 50/50 and twice the price. And I give you my word, you will leave a satisfied customer. But if you're looking to haggle and try and tell and expert you know how much it should cost, what the problem is and want to argue. Go rent a garage and some tools, you should be repairing it yourself. Truth and integrity, fair value and trust. Issac thank you good sir for a job well done!

Allstate used to be a good auto shop when it was Juan's. Now it's not anymore. Juan is barely ever there and some strange guy taken over. Too bad.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Obnoxious. Listed as a AAA provider for pre-purchase vehicle inspections I requested an appointment online. The appointment was confirmed via email two days in advance. We showed up with the car at the appointment time and they said that they had sent a text to cancel the appointment three hours earlier (they mistyped my phone number on the text so I never got it) and that their next available inspection appointment was in 4 days. Ridiculous waste of our time.

Since I moved to LA three years ago, I've been to four other mechanics including one other AAA-certified mechanic. They all repeated work that temporarily, if ever, resolved recurring issues. Isaac was the first mechanic who listened to my descriptions of issues, then explained causes and potential resolutions before asking me how I would like to proceed.I highly recommend Allstate Auto Repair to people looking for a mechanic who takes care of problems the first time by addressing underlying issues rather than applying cheap fixes that keep you coming back to spend more money.

My car broke down a couple weeks ago on my way to drop my kid to school, luckily it was down the street from Allstate Auto Repair, they were recommended from my AAA road side assistance. They fixed and replaced a couple of parts in my vehicle. Service was great and timely. I would definitely start bringing my car here for maintenance and if it needs repairs.

I was looking for a new mechanic in the Sunland, La Crescenta, Glendale area and drove up on these guys. Fair up front pricing and they use good parts. Reminds me of the way auto repair shops used to be, clean facility and large waiting area with TV set! If you take good care of your car and want a good place to take it to I recommend.Service: Brakes

Allstate is completely trustworthy. I used to use this shop for sublet work for my own automotive repair shop that I own in Tujunga. A former owner ran Allstate when we first started working with them. They'd do wheel alignments and AC recharge/diagnostic work for us, and it worked for a year or so. After some time, I honestly wasn't a fan of what the former owner used to tell and/or charge his customers (some new customers came to us after dealing with them). The former owner was unfortunately dishonest and quite frankly - greedy. We started to outsource our work elsewhere after hearing so many bad experiences. We eventually decided to try Allstate again once we heard the former owner sold the business to Juan, the now owner. Juan is honest and anything but greedy. We, as mechanics, hate to work on our own cars lol. It's like they say, 'the great roofer with a leaking roof!' Lol... Working on our own cars ties up work space and time.. and we all know time is money! So yes, even mechanics ourselves take our own work elsewhere when we don't have or want to make the time to deal with our own cars. I like things done right, and I don't mind paying for it. When I was out getting parts for a customer, I heard a loud rattle and felt a wobble in my wheel and knew our schedule was too packed to make time for my own front axles, so I took it to Juan and let them take care of me while I catered my own customers. He did what all I asked and without an appointment, and I'm beyond happy with them. They always go above and beyond for our customer cars as well as our personal cars, and that's such a huge relief when our work schedule doesn't allow for it. We have to take our own advice when car repairs cannot wait, and I'm glad I have someone to be able to take it to when I'm too busy to deal with my own cars. Trust Juan entirely, he's a good man running a great shop. Thank you Juan for always helping us out!!

I have been going to AllState Auto Repair for a few years now. Recently I had a repair performed that was not to my expectations. I told Juan about my dissatisfaction, and he immediately corrected the issue, gave me a discount and most importantly was honest with me. I left AllState with a smile on my face and faith in AllState. Doing business with a company is a relationship, really. Honesty when we make mistakes is crucial, whether it's our mistake or the company's. Juan showed me that I matter as a customer and that makes all the difference to me. I will remain a loyal customer to AllState Auto Repair!!!

One of my best friends took his car here for several repairs in the past, but this last experience was so bad I had to leave a review. They replaced the fuel pump, and completely forgot to finish. I picked the car up drove it to the gas station to find out they did not connect all the gas lines back. If I was not paying attention this could have been a fatal accident, and for that I would never recommend this shop to anyone! They are very unsafe and unprofessional and the worse part they have not returned my calls or done anything to make this situation better. They lost a really good customer, and I’m reporting them to the better business Bureau

They don't finish the job they started. Plus they make you feel uncomfortable with the way they stare at you. Almost feels like they going to run a train on you.
