I want to begin by saying that the manager I dealt with was professional, responsive, and did a great job addressing my concerns when I asked to speak with him directly. I truly appreciate his effort and approach.
That said, I do feel it’s important to note that one of the associates I interacted with was curt and dismissive. Statements such as “not in my control, not my problem” do not reflect the level of service expected in a customer-facing role. Exceeding expectations should be considered the baseline in hospitality and service, not an exception.
Receiving a vehicle in poor condition, paired with a curt attitude, left me with the impression that customer experience was not a priority in that interaction. If drivers are expected to respect the vehicles and assets of the company, then they deserve to be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism in return.

So unprofessional! We reserved a 7 seater for this morning and when we got there our vehicle wasn’t available! There was another guy that also had reserved and his car wasn’t available either. Unacceptable!!

I had a reservation with them in Glendale and tried calling them over 20 times with no answer. When someone finally picked up, the representative was extremely rude and unhelpful. It felt like they had no interest in assisting customers at all.
This kind of service is unacceptable especially when people rely on rental cars for important plans. I do not recommend this location. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

If you’re looking for customer service this isn’t the place. Be prepared to be turned away even though you had reservations without any assistance.
Had a 5:00 PM reservation for a 7-seater. Received a voicemail at 4:52 PM while driving, informing me it was unavailable. Arrived at 4:48 PM and was told to call the 800 number for assistance with transferring to Burbank Airport—no help was provided on-site.
Corporate stated the transfer wasn’t possible. After two hours of discussion with staff, I was given a 5-seater at the 7-seater rate and advised to request a rate adjustment upon return in Glendale.
At drop-off, the location refused to adjust the fee, and no manager or supervisor was available. I was again directed to the 800 number.

The people at Hertz Glendale are awesome. Norma Maalouf and her supervisor were more than accommodating at a difficult time.

Horrible experience. What was supposed to cost $126 wound up costing $494 with hidden fees and extras we didn’t want

My last three road trips have been amazing. Hertz Glendale CA will get you on the road safely. Truly I can’t wait to go on a trip again. Thank you for always giving me your best.

My father was made to move his car out of the lot and denied use of the disabled parking space. He is disabled and has a disabled plate. I'm pretty sure this is very illegal. Lawyer up.

Gave away the car I reserved and then tried to upsell me on a more expensive option
UPDATE: don't believe the response below. My partner accidentally booked this place again, and they tried the same dishonest tactic of upselling a more expensive option. On top of that, when we refused this option they attempted to charge us a no-show fee even though they were the one's who couldn't supply the car we reserved.

I used to rent from this location without any issues, but my recent experiences have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
On my first recent visit, I reserved a standard gasoline-powered car, but when I arrived, they only had electric vehicles available. I specifically told them I didn’t want an electric car, but they insisted that they don’t guarantee gas or electric—even though their website clearly separates electric vehicle listings. It felt misleading, if not outright dishonest.
Then someone brought out an SUV, and I was told that although it was already rented, I could take it—but only if I paid a substantial upgrade fee. I explained that since they didn’t have the car I reserved, I should get it without any additional charge. The representative was rude and dismissive. After nearly two hours, I was finally given a midsize or economy sedan—definitely a downgrade—but received no discount.
Thinking it might have been a one-time issue due to the busy spring break period, I gave them another chance and made a second reservation, this time for a gasoline-powered SUV. Again, they only had electric vehicles available, and again they tried to convince me to take a smaller electric car, claiming it was “standard.” I declined, made a quick reservation elsewhere, and walked away.
Bottom line: I will not be renting from Hertz again. Even though this Hertz is walking distance from me, I now prefer to go all the way to Pasadena to get decent service from different company. I won't rent from Hertz for work either.

Booked for a truck a month in advance and ended up not having it on the day. Manager didnt even apologise cause he said they did give us the truck but had to come back 2hours after and they asked us to return it early the following day. No discount or anything to make it right. Would suggest renting from others.

I’ve used Hertz many times and usually have a good experience, but what happened at this location was absolutely unacceptable.
I came in with a reservation and asked for a small SUV. Instead of helping, the red haired employee made things worse by going to the manager, Jeff, after I said my concerns weren’t being addressed. Jeff’s response? He refused me service entirely.
Minutes later, I watched him help a walk in customer with no issue at all. So the problem clearly wasn’t availability, it was attitude.
The only person who acted with any professionalism was the Black woman at the counter. She was top tier, respectful, and the only one who seemed to know what customer service actually means. The other two? They created chaos instead of solving problems. May they not be messed with lightly, because they clearly don’t belong in customer-facing roles.
Hertz, this location has some folks dragging your name through the dirt. Do better.
