ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE BANK!!! Stay away from American River Bank like your life depends on it!!! They non-stop harass for no reason customers like me who fully pay their mortgage on time each month. Why? Because they want to fabricate a "default" so they can unfairly raise interest rates on my mortgage. And you cannot escape to another lender because they have very high and unfair prepayment penalties so you are stuck.

It is sad that I have to leave a negative review for this bank. However, time after time it continues to go south. I have been locked out of my account for no reason, with no Waring. The ATM doesn't accept cash, the bank intentionally limits my spending (on a business acct) to such a low amount it hampers my ability to efficiently do business. I have been completely frustrated with this bank's lack of ability to simply do it's job without putting more work on My Plate. It's sad because the people are nice... I really enjoy every person who works at that bank. But the system is invasive, laborious and prevents ease-of-use. When we informed the bank next door that we had an account here, the teller literally said us "Oh! Well give it some time and you will be over here soon enough. We get all their customers eventually"... now I see why that teller was so confident, because this is a continuous problem.

Unable to connect for weeks. Not only were they offline for a couple weeks due to website upgrades but now American River Bank is still unable to connect to our Quickbooks account. We have been unable to pay payroll taxes, invoices are not being met not to mention simple reconciliations. They don't even know when they'll be back up. They've been telling me the same thing every day for over a week. Meanwhile our local family business is suffering.

Feels like a small hometown bank. Friendly, helpful and the wait time is minimal if at all. Great bank!
