I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Richard Copelan, the CEO of the Better Business Bureau of the TriCounties in California. I was connected with him to assist in resolving some issues surrounding the transfer of our headquarters to another state. Mr. Copelan was extremely considerate and understanding of the situation. Despite the fact that they were closing within 10 minutes, he took ownership and ensured the issue was resolved promptly.
One would not typically expect a CEO to personally handle a call from an employee performing a transaction for her CFO, but Mr. Copelan did just that, offering an excellent customer experience. He exemplifies the true definition of customer service, getting in the field and working alongside his representatives to provide the best service to his clients.
Thank you, Mr. Copelan, for being a perfect gentleman and going above and beyond to ensure our situation was resolved. I highly recommend seeking BBB accreditation for your local business in the TriCounties area.

This chapter of all the chapters i have worked with was really welcoming. I found them to be fair, open minded, but also rigid on their rules. They understand both sides of the coin, the business owner's and the customers/clients. I'm glad to be associated with this chapter, and look forward to continued hard work in taking care of issues on my business with their trusted third party input.

Predatory business practices!
What scumbags. This office of the BBB called me up and made it sound like a complaint had been filed against me in order to get me to join their organization. I would HIGHLY recommend that no one do business with these predators.
Update: I just spoke with Rick Copeland President of this business. He parsed the sales reps words and hemmed and hawed that as long as the rep said "inquiry" and not "complaint" everything was fine. Not true! The notion that there was any inquiry was a complete fabrication to try and make a sale! Starting off a relationship with a lie is no way to go, Rick.

I have been going through issues with Uber as I have been driving with them for the past year. As of the annual background check, 2 issues were found, one over 20 years and the other 30 years ago. These issues have prevented me from driving with uber and applying to Lyft. On July the 6th, I went to 2 different courts to get the clearance documents.I then uploaded these cleared documents to Checkr and to Uber, which now puts me in another waiting period. I called Janet M of the BBB of the Tri-Counties who assisted me before with a different issue. She was gracious enough to give me this insight on the best way to approach this stressful situation and I thank her for it. She made my experience with this A LOT easier.Janet has helped me again to write a COMPLAINT against Uber so they can change their PROCESS to be more helpful. I highly recommend ANYONE who has ANY issue with ANY company to reach out to the BBB of the Tri-Counties.

I had an issue with a local Dermatology office here in town. I was at my wit's end. Not only did the BBB (Brent, Carol and Rick), help me to remedy the problem in a professional manner, they did it so efficiently and swiftly. Customer service was TOP NOTCH!. They all made me feel at ease, and couldn't have been more supportive. Santa Barbara is truly fortunate to have such an awesome group of people watching our backs. Thanks guys!!!

The triple B is a scam. They take your membership money and do nothing for you. Then when you decide it's not doing anything for you, and stop your membership, they lower your rating. Save your money and advertise on Google, yelp, Instagram and Facebook. Don't waste your good earned dollars on the longest running nationwide scam known as the BBB.

Ben Spradley has harassed me trying to convince me that my business should list with the BBB. He will even call you from a "burner phone" and that number is +1 (626) 460-1554. I leave this number so that he stops harassing small business owners. He recently left me a disturbing message from that burner phone. I cannot be the only business experiencing this and if that is the case it is sad that he still works for this organization.

I am very happy with this branch of BBB. Brent listened to what I had to say regarding an issue, and even went above and beyond by listening to me on a completely different issue. Not only that, he gave me a valuable suggestion. He didn't have to, but he did. He was patient, friendly, yet professional the whole time, 22 minutes at that. It was a breath of fresh air to deal with someone like him. I hang up the phone happy and hopeful.

Over the past two months we have had an employee that works for Santa Barbara BBB named Ben Spradley continually call us, disrespect us for not purchasing his list of contacts from out of business contact lists and harassing our other businesses that we own. The BBB is a 501(c)(6) not for profit that has for over 100 years tried to focus on trust in the marketplace. Why is Mr Spradley trying to get us to pay for these lists or inside information? The actions of Ben Spradley is absolutely not what the originators of this Bureau intended this service to accomplish. We have blocked Mr Spradley through phone and email to have him continually harass our employees. I hope the owners of the BBB SB or National read this review and terminate him immediately for his actions that border verbal harassment. We are working to make this matter known throughout the community!

The value BBB provides to us consumers and to the businesses we buy products and services from in immense. I, like many, could not get a particular business to respond to us. I notified the BBB and they, with class, intervened on our behalf.
