“I did 2 Drop-In classes with Alyse while I was in Santa Barbara and had a great experience! Alyse was very knowledgeable and very welcoming when I arrived for my first workout. She made a point to introduce me to everyone and explain how they typical do things. The gym is very nice and set up well. It is also clean and well maintained. I highly recommend CrossFit Santa Barbara! Thank you Alyse!”

“I absolutely love OTF in Goleta. My friend had been going and she always spoke so highly about it, encouraging me to try it out. Well after who knows how long I finally did and I loved it! I use to hate working out and now I can't wait to. The girls upfront are always so helpful so far I've met Kylie, Karina, and Claire. The coaches are amazing also I've worked with Sarah, Annalise, and Stephanie. Thank you for the motivation that I very much needed OTF!”

“I was in Santa Barbara for work, my plane home was delayed at 6 AM in the morning on a Sunday. I looked for a gym nearby to kill some time and found killer b fitness. I was able to walk right in, sign up and start the work out right away. Everyone was very welcoming and the coach gave very clear direction and guidance to help me through the program. I got a fantastic workout in before I head to head back to the airport.”

“I joined GVAC 18 months ago after having two children back-to-back, my health was in terrible shape, I was 30 pounds overweight, eating primarily processed foods, and had no energy to keep up with my kids. When I decided to finally put my health first, I signed up for an annual membership with personal training 8 times per month. With Anaya as my personal trainer I was able to reach my goal weight in only 3 months, but most importantly I've been able to keep the weight off and get stronger by building muscle. One of the things I love most about the gym is the body composition scanner, this tool is so accurate and helpful in tracking my weight loss progress and results. I also really enjoy the group fitness classes and ending my workout with 15 minutes in the sauna. This gym has it all, friendly staff, excellent personal trainers, a clean facility with upgraded equipment, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. I recommend this to anyone at any level in their health journey from beginner to advanced, you will feel welcome here.”

“Okay, lets start with a breakdown of the review. Its really a 3.5 but I felt giving it 3 would be unfairly weighted in the downward direction. 5 stars for the price, $10 a month is absolutely unbeatable. 4 stars for the facility. Its clean there are a lot of machines, especially cardio and the place still looks fairly new and so do the machines. The locker-room (mens at least) is still in nice condition but is a bit short on toilets. And I only say this because the whole, locker-room, shower, toilet facility is Continuously in use in the AM. Why? well it took me a few months to figure this one out but the super low price apparently makes it really attractive to anyone who only wants to use the shower/toilet/sink facilities. I've been in the gym there for 90+ minutes and gone into the locker-room to see it full of folks I didn't seen in the gym but who are showering, shaving and dressing. So back to the gym, its great with a huge main machine and dumbell workout area as well dozens and dozens of cardio machines. There's a stretch and gravity work out area, special area with Smith machines and a semi-separate circuit training area as well. I like the ethos here with their "Judgement Free Zone" slogan, and they have a lot of catchy, inclusive sayings printed big on the walls pushing back on the stereotypical gym culture. One of them mentions that they disprove of "slamming weights", "grunting loudly", "wearing bodybuilding t-shirts" and "carrying around gallon jugs of water". Sadly though, many of these things sill happen there with no consequence. In fact, though the staff are friendly and keep the place quite clean, there seems to be no enforcement of any rules whatsoever. People regularly camp on machines, don't honor the circuit training policy (its written on the wall in that room), and use their phones continuously all unabated. SOme folks go as far as to set up their own "mini-gyms" with dumbells, kettlebells, fixed barbells etc drug from all over the facility so they never have to move! Part of the problem is (sorry kids) is that they let HS kids in for free during the summer. Don't mean to be that "get off my lawn guy" but I left a great facility at nearby UCSB for the exact 3 reasons I just listed here. Overall PF is a good facility, with a little policy enforcement it could be fantastic.”

“I rarely take time to write reviews, but I wanted to take a moment to say how impressed I am with Johnny, the new facilities manager at the Goleta Golds Gym. He clearly cares about the facility, has a super-friendly, outgoing personality and goes out of his way to be helpful and answer member questions. However, I specifically want to address the cleaning staff and in particular Francisco for a compliment. This guy is the hardest working staff member there. His focus, hard work and attention to detail plus his tireless efforts to keep the gym spotless always impress me. He is always moving heavy equipment and weight racks to clean the baseboards. This place is by far the cleanest of all three Gold's Gyms in Santa Barbara. You could eat off the floor here! Bravo to the whole team at Goleta for making it a pleasure to work out here.Mark S.Santa Barbara, CA”
