La Chapala Market is a busy market and restaurant located in Old Town. It offers authentic Mexican food like tacos, burritos, pozole, homemade tortillas, and salsa, along with a variety of Mexican food items and groceries, including great meat. The market has nice booths near the street and has improved parking and safety for bikes and buses. Customers appreciate the authentic atmosphere, though some mention minor issues like pricing and occasional bones in food.
I have been here about four times and have always been pleased. I love how it's both a restaurant and a busy market. There are nice booths in front near the street. Parking has gotten way better since the Project Connect re-striping. And if you use a bike or the bus to access Old Town, you will find it much more safe now.

Bland fatty Barbacoa burrito. Truly disappointing. Salsa couldn’t even save this. I hesitate trying the rest of the items. While eating just biting into chunks of fat were disgusting.
