Always clean, fresh, friendly. The meats, salads, and baked goods are delicious. Items are always fully stocked. We enjoy our conversations with Hovik every time we shop there. Support small business!

Lots of Mediterranean grocery and side homemade dishes, order your next party delicious foods here. Try Jewish 100% beef salami, other salamies, Bologna's sausage, mortadella cold cuts, Eastern European chocolate candies, lavash breads, fresh veggies and fruits, Armenian jams and sodas, my goodness your head will spin.

This is the best quality meat and price for meat for kabobs in the LA area. Our family is completely hooked on the chicken breast kabobs. We are not Armenian or Lebanese but this meat sooooo great for bbq, parties, meal prepping or just a lazy Wednesday when you don't want to cook. Put them on swords (they sell them there) make some rice and your done. They also have the cucumber salad and fresh hummus that they make. One stop shop.

If we are having a party and want kebabs, we always order from Hovik's. Very fresh, everyone asks where we get it from. The only thing, I did get quoted incorrectly on the lamb kebabs. They said it was $6/skewer on the phone and when we were picking up, they rang it up as $7. Not a big deal, but just make sure you're paying attention. Still not sure which is the correct price.I also wish they labeled somehow. Next time, I may ask them to separate since if some people don't eat one of the meats, you won't know which it is. Not the BEST customer service I've had, but they aren't rude. Just a language barrier :) Highly recommend!

I recommend Hovik's when planning a barbecue or making some good Luleh or Shish Kebabs. The meat is marinated with delicious taste. Additionally if you don't want to cook at home you can order by the pound and have it cooked. It is a small family place with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They have salads and fresh legumes if you are in need of fresh vegetables. When you enter they great you and overall they have a great service. They are closed on Mondays.

The lamb chops (asked for medium rare, got medium well to near well-done) aren't half bad if you eat them with the hummus provided, but hard to decide if the price is really worth it (no, it's not $13.99. That needs to be updated). Honestly just made me miss the spot near the Glendale Galleria that I go to (Mini Kabob) even more. The owner of the shop is nice though, so there's that. The meat they have for sale also seems decent, but I can't say I'd order the lamb chops again. *update: to elaborate a little further as to why it's not exactly worth it, the lamb chops were just way too bland. Also, I've just had better Armenian food, so it's hard to say I like it from my point of view without sounding like I'm giving free compliments. The hummus also had a yogurt-like consistency, but tasted alright. Sad to say the hummus had more flavor than the lamb though lol

I have been to Hovik's many times since I moved to the area. It is your average Armenian Deli market but what has brought me to yelp to review this establishment has been the consumer price. This place is family owned and they work the register. Every time the total price of my purchase has been different. On top, this last time I was over charged on Basturma. I was charged $29.99 per pound by the owners wife and Who knows how much I paid for the salad because they didn't attach the usual tag and she told the woman packaging not to top it off.

I've come to the meat market twice. The first time I was unsure I was choosing the right cuts of meat for my intended purpose. It turned out delicious. I added you hurt to chicken breast cut meat and I made small oval Pattie's with the seasoned beef and chicken. The meat was fresh. When I went the second time I told the older gentlemen which I guess may be the owner that I was freezing the meat and taking it to my son I. San Francisco. He smiled and said did you like the meat the last time. Absolutely was my answer!
