I called the business but they were too busy to repair my truck for at least two weeks. He referred me to another business, which I appre iated.

DMV required me to get a brake and lamp inspection on my salvaged truck. Chato's was one of the few inspection stations in the area. Chato told me to bring my truck in and he inspected it on the spot. He told me what needed to be done. He also said he might be able to fix a knock in my engine. We set up an appointment. After looking over the engine, he called me and gave me the news that fixing the engine would exceed the value of the car. He held off making the brake and lamp repairs because he knew it would just be a waste of my money if I didn't want to repair the engine. When I came in, He showed me exactly what was wrong with the engine. When I decided to give up on my truck, He only charged me $60 for the engine diagnosis. Not only that, he and his wife Rhonda kindly drove my truck back to where I could keep it until I junked it. All in all, Chato proved to professional, expert and ethical. He treated me with respect and a gentle sense of humor. He and Rhonda went above and beyond to help me out even though they didn't make a lot of money. What they did make was a loyal future customer. Excellent service!

These reviews are hilarious... Chato's is a gift to our area and the fact that he is the only one willing to put up with all the hillbillies bringing in busted beaters for 20+ years should make all who deal with rebuilt vehicles appreciative.

Why is Chato the only shop authorized for Break and Light inspection in Grass Valley? He should hire help or just retire because he does not appear phisically capable to do his job. Brought my car for Break and Light inspection and he shredded a part of my car's muffler just by putting it on the lift. Got my car five days later with the engine light on. I still had to pay $250 for inspection and some rubber hose that according to him needed to be replaced in order to pass the inspection. Serriously, someone else should get the license to do the job of Break and Light inspection. Chato, is time to retire.

Absolutely do not go to chato. He is a thief. Failed a simple brake and light inspection claiming there was a leak on one of my rear brakes. Trying to sell me on a brake job. So i took it to my mechanics to check it out and there was not a leak at all. Brought it back to him and explained the situation. I requested a free reinspection of which he agreed. Then failed me again and charged me for another inspection. Would not release my vehicle to me when i demanded and refused to pay. Ended up having to pay just to get my truck without getting cops involved. He is pure scum. I guarantee most if not all postive reviews of shito are fake posted by friends and family as he is completely incompetent at his job. If you need a brake and lamp inspection go to Auburn or roseville. If you need honest and quality repair go to Import Auto Service and see Anton. An extremely knowledgeable owner of an excellent repair shop. 5 stars for Import Auto Service...0 for Shito

Had a problem with brake light and needed the inspection to get DMV okay. Part wasn't available, anywhere. Chato worked with me, told me about Kilroy wrecking and showed me the part I needed. They might have it. They did, I got it out of a wrecked car, brought it back and Chato was able to then fix in a flash. Reasonable charge and brake lights then passed the test.

Chato is a busy man! He found a way to get me in for an inspection on my only day off, Saturday. He knows what he's talking about and I felt safe leaving his shop.

I went there to have my car inspected. It failed. They told me what I had to do to fix it. I put 600 dollars into it. I got back give them 75 dollars for the second inspection. They told me that my front lights where messed up even though the first time it was perfectly fine. I had to buy parts and pay a mechanic the first time. Now because I fix everything. They tell me another reason that it didn't fail. I wouldn't be pissed off if they told me the first time all the problems with it instead of melking the money out of my pocket
