While not a luxury hotel, the staff that runs this lovely compound, apparently owned by a loving and caring elder is amazing. A one of a kind, immaculate compound of separate buildings with beautiful landscaping. In addition to how it looks is the team that runs this operation. I wish I remembered everyone's name but Kiera and Carol I last spoke to, so I recall their names the best . You walk into the registration and adjacent Cafe, where complementary freshly prepared waffles, omelette (amazing) you've ever had. Coffee, tea, juices, breads, fresh fruit..... in the evening they set out Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab, cheese, crackers, mixed nuts a veritable feast. I have a standard poodle and she was treated like royalty. I understand they have a Facebook page as well with photos of all their canine and feline guests. I did see a fairly large swimming pool and understand they also have a fitness room. I honestly can't wait to go back because now I love Grass Valley too.

Nice people, good size suite, couch not so good. Need some newer furniture! Also "extra" blankets were stinky. GREAT dog sitting!!!!! Cant say enough great things about Carol! It was tricky trying to get the air to work. Overall I would stay here again! If they replaced the sofas and made sure the blankets were cleaner, I'd give 4.5 stars.

overall closer to five stars for me, only complaint about the location is the grassiness of the valley. normally a valley surrounded by vast, rolling hills provides me with terrific pleasure, yet this time it was overtaken by grass of the valley.

We arrived around 3:00 pm on a Thursday. The staff was very friendly. The grounds were very nice. Walked in our hotel room and we were very pleased with the cleanliness and beautiful decor. It was tastefully done. We enjoyed a nice complimentary breakfast. They also provided omelets to our liking. Again, loved how warm and friendly the staff was. We will be back.

Love this place. Happy Hour with wine and snacks. Staff is friendly and make you feel welcomed. Good breakfast in the morning.

This is an exceptional, family-run hotel. I’m a hotel snob and was very impressed. Clean, comfy rooms. Great location close to downtown. Fantastic breakfast. Kind staff. Can’t say enough! Do yourself a favor and stay here. This is what all hotels should aspire to be!

Nearly perfect ...
Very nice room, wonderful breakfast, great location. They even provide free laundry detergent!! Weird interaction with a newer night staff member that cost a star but otherwise amazing. Happy to explain to owner if they want to know.

The staff and rooms are incredible! This is our second time we stayed at this hotel while visiting the Nevada County Fair. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I had better sleep in our room than at home. The happy hour was great to connect with other travelers and even the beautiful staff. I highly recommend staying here and we plan to come back again. Thank you all!

We’ve stayed here twice this summer and so impressed both times. Well-appointed clean rooms with super comfy beds, a nice pool, spa, and fitness room, personal and friendly service, and a fresh hot breakfast (custom omelette and waffle bar, fresh fruit etc).
One building is a historic brewery and just gorgeous. Walking distance to town. We stayed with 2 small kids and it was perfect, has enclosed patios off several of the rooms. We’ll be back!

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Grass Valley
We ended up at Grass Valley Courtyard Suites unexpectedly due to car trouble—and what started as a stressful detour turned into one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip.
From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to help, securing us a beautiful room the very same day. The location couldn’t be better—just steps away from everything happening in downtown Grass Valley, yet it still felt peaceful and tucked away.
The gardens are absolutely stunning—perfect for enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee—and the little touches like the on-site sauna made it feel like a mini retreat. Everyone we met was genuinely kind and helpful, which made all the difference during an unplanned stay.
Can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re visiting Grass Valley—or even just passing through—do yourself a favor and stay here.
