“I’ve been training at Goldrush Strength and Conditioning for over four years, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and fitness.

What really sets this place apart is the community. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported—not just by the coaches, but by the other members as well. It’s an environment where everyone is encouraged to grow, and that makes showing up consistently so much easier.

The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping you reach your goals. They take the time to understand what you’re working toward and provide the guidance, motivation, and accountability needed to get there. I’ve made more progress than I ever expected, thanks to their support.

Goldrush isn’t just a gym—it’s a place where you feel challenged, supported, and part of something bigger. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a strong community and great coaching.”

“I’m 63, and have been training since I was 15. I competed in bodybuilding shows the mid-late 80’s. Finding the perfect gym, something that had the spirit of the old Pacific Ave. Gold’s gym in Venice has been a life long quest. Three stand out, over those decades- Kal Szkalak’s Superflex Gym, now gone, in Lake Forest, Orange County ca, Ford’s Gym in Madison, WI and now, Ironworks gym in Grass Valley.
For a highly gym-critical muscle head, Ironworks is a refreshing breath of old-school fresh air. This is a bodybuilder’s gym, a powerlifter’s gym. Raucous rock and roll plays on the stereo, not the top 20 pop-crap that plays in “fitness centers” with pretty machines and “fitness influencers” building pretty yacht-boy muscles.
The equipment is rugged, heavy-boned and archaic looking, but when you get on it, it feels like Joe Gold designed it just for you. Great leverage points, smooth as butter movement.
The patrons are kind and helpful, but serious. Arnold’s encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding sits open on the counter, the walls are studded with pictures of him, as well as notable gym members who’ve achieved great feats and transformations.
If you’re looking for that great Venice Beach standard, a true, old school gym with an atmosphere that screams at you “3 MORE REPS!”, make this place your new gym-home.
They don’t make places like this anymore; it’s straight outta 1975.
I love this place, and I am profoundly grateful the owner understands that vision and has carried that old school torch to this place. My eternal thanks for that, I’ve found “home”!”

“I’ve been going to South Yuba club off and on for 8 years and don’t know what I would do without this place. Staff is friendly, facilities are top notch and has ever thing I need including a steam room, dry sauna, cold plunges, and hot tub. It’s worth the little extra money it cost compared to the other gyms around for sure. The only thing is that it does get a bit busy at times but if you can work around that it’s no problem going during non peak hours.”
