I grew up in Nevada City and LOVED me some Marshall's Pasties! Whenever I return home to visit (30 years later) we make sure to buy a dozen, and bring a frozen dozen back to Pennsylvania with us to enjoy. You just can't get these anywhere on the east coast that I have found. Highly recommended

We ran in after a gold mine tour. They reminded me somewhat of Jamaican meat patties or other 'hand pies' or turnovers. It's a small place with decent service. Try different fillings if you can.

My brother Capt. John FitzGerald Placer County Sheriff's Office, used to eat your pasties to keep us going ... I was a mine geologist and he was a Sheriff's Capt ... Unfortunately, John died from brain cancer ... way too soon ... highly decorated Officer. We loved your pasties.

This place has been in business for as long as I can remember. Great food. If you are looking for something a little different for lunch or dinner this is definitely a must try.

We prefer Marshalls Pasties to what we ate in Cornwall! They're full of meat, potato and all the other ingredients that make them so yummy!

Great pasties. You definitely need gravy with it. A bit too many potatoes even for a self proclaimed potato lover

Pasties go way back to the miner days of Grass Valley, Miners used to heat their lunch with a candle while they were down in mine. Meat and potato delicious ! This location is down street from the Pelton wheel museum where the power house for the empire and Star Mine is located. There is also a park down by the creek to enjoy you Pasties.

I'd never had a pastie before, so we stopped here for lunch to check it out. There are just a couple of little tables inside and I wasn't completely sure how clean the place was. The pasties were plain and not something I'd repeat. Maybe I just don't like meat pasties? I'm still willing to try the other pastie place in town, because something must make them worth having two restaurants that market them in such a small town, right? I just wouldn't repeat the experience at this place.
