They have some good stuff but it’s mostly overpriced. A few good deals, but hard to find.

Not happy that the owners/managers haven't updated the hours on here. I just drove 45 minutes on Sunday 1/7 to find the place closed with new hours posted on the window. *sigh* How long does it take to update your damn hours on a site that drives traffic to you! C'mon people, you're a business for goodness sake!

Prices are way too high for a thrift store. A thrift store is supposed to be low prices for people to afford.

Outrageously expensive. I don't get it. $8 for a used scarf, pilly used scarf. Will be skipping this one from now on in my thrift store shopping day. It's a shame because I love dogs more than anything and would support them, but I would just feel ripped off.

I think this place is amazing! I believe the prices are fair and the proceeds go to a great cause. The store is always presented beautifully and the people who work there are great! I will continue to shop and support Sammies Friends!

Holy crap! I've been coming to Sammies for years and never have I seen the price is so ridiculously high. People donate their stuff for free and you had the audacity, during inflation, to price your shit so high. You do this when people are barely getting by. The little mirrors on the wall were $50, I could not believe how expensive it has gotten. I don't know who's in the back pricing these things, but they really need to take a step back and look at the community that they serve. I for one will not return

$18.00 dollars for a tank top at a thrift store is outrageously over priced. The tank tops at a thrift store should be $ 5.00 dollars plus instead of 18.00 dollars. That is way to much for a tank top. I would not ever go back into Sammie's For two reasons. one is the prices are way to high I do agree with a single mother who can't afford clothes at Sammie's Friends Thrift Store. Their a lot of people who are on Social Security Income so I know that the cannot afford your Thrift Store prices. I do understand that you support all the animals in Nevada County. At least Animal Save is a whole lot cheaper and a whole lot nicer than the management at your store. Tammie and Heather who are the managers their are not very nice to people with Disabilities and I do not recommend getting a job their I would go to Animal Save and Hospices and Good Will they all treat people with disabilities a whole lot better than the Sammie's Friends Thrift Store. Sammie's Friends Thrift Store the new managers they harass and bully people who have disabilities. They do not know and understand people who have different disabilities and they need to be taught how to be respectful towards people with disabilities ,and understand people with disabilities. They do not have the patients and they are always having rude behaviors and always getting mad at people and the other customers very rude when they are their shopping. I will be contacting the board about this problem because it is against the law for bullying and harassing people with people with disabilities. No wonder why all the old volunteers have left because of Tammie and Heather saying things that are not true just to fire people who they don't like. Shame on Tammie and Heather for what they are doing to Sammie's. Sammie's is going down hill. We would have stayed if they were a lot nicer to us but we have all quit. This is the truth that all of this is happening. And it is not right at all. There are other people who come into Animal Save and have complained about how Sammie's has gone way down hill because of the new managers their they are not very nice and the prices are horribly high it is a thrift store not a Macy store no body can afford the high cost. Even my bother in law said that the tank tops are way out of line on the tank tops. They should only be 3 to 7 dollars not 18.00 dollars. Wow out rages you should be ashamed of yourselves for the high cost prices at your thrift store. You need to go into other thrift stores around Nevada County and Penn Valley Stores to get the costs right and not to go any higher if it is not a brand name go cheaper. If it is a brand name don't go any higher than 30.00 dollars to much. People cannot afford these high end Macy prices that you are pricing your items and clothing at Sammie's. This is gross keep in mind that their are single parents out there and where they get their stuff is at a thrift store where they can buy their stuff at because it is cheaper their and they can afford the prices. Now the prices have jumped from 3.50 to 18 plus dollars so you are actually loosing money not making any money because of the high end prices you are going for. You are not going to get it. You need to go to the yelp page to see the comments that are being left about the prices and change the prices to affordable prices that everyone can afford. It is not a retail store for crying out loud. Listen to your customers they are all telling you about the prices that no one can afford right now.

Prices are WAAAAAYY too high for a thrift store. They were selling a used old bike for the same price as you can buy it new at Walmart and other places, were selling old used pots and pans for the same price as you can get it brand new in Walmart, the list goes on and on…..Ridiculous prices , really. And staff are pretty unfriendly also.I find an occasional item that is not ridiculously overpriced but that is a very rare occasion. I think they should be closed because clearly they don’t care about poor people. I don’t even know what kind of audience they are serving.

I have shopped here for years and used to recommend this thrift store to everyone. However, lately prices have gotten rediculously high. I used to be able to get t-shirts and jeans for my kids for $2-$3 a piece, but now those same pieces are $5 each. Women's clothing prices have especially doubled. I put so many items back that I would've normally purchased had they not been so expensive. As a result, I pretty much only shop there on 1/2 off days now.

$300 for a chipped laminate table, $400 for a threadbare couch, $300 for a scratched dresser, $75 for a scuffed side table, $20 for an old jacket, $35 for a crockpot from 1990. These are normal prices of new items. Save yourself the drive and just shop at Wayfair or Overstock where you can get the same items brand new. Just depressing that people charge so much for items they get for free ?
