A half-hour scenic drive to/from Yosemite valley. Near the gas station. It feels like a longer drive at night on way back from the valley. Parking slabs are typically not level here. Campsites are dusty ground and plant debris. Bring cardboard sheets to make burnable footpads (carpets) for sitting and for entering vehicles or tents.

Great spot. Friendly ranger. Clean bathroom. Hiking trail with great sunrise views. No service unless you have Verizon.

You don't have to go to Africa to experience sanitation like in a third world country! The good news: this is apparently more than possible in the USA too. Non-existent sinks meet dirty toilets that look like the scene of a war of excessive flatulence. I also think it's risky to set up a campground where pine cones threaten to kill you. Which is also daring? True, never checking who has reserved and who hasn't. Why pay when apparently every hiker can make a short (or not so short) stopover. Apparently the tourists' good faith is being exploited here. Unbelievable!
Well, you're getting smarter - keep your eyes open when choosing a campsite. Next time I'll choose cholera instead of the plague.

Loved this campground! It’s so much easier to book compared to the “valley” campgrounds. It’s peaceful and quiet. And the drive from it to the valley is so scenic!
The booking process was easy, the campground’s staff answered all of my questions and have always been polite, welcoming and friendly.
We decided to leave Yosemite earlier due to the weather and change of travel plans and my refund for 3 nights has been processed with no questions at all.
Absolutely recommend the campground!

Not my favorite campground in Yosemite (yet anyway). Just spent two nights there hoping the refurbishing project after the two year closure resulted in improvements. I was disappointed to find the sites are really close to together, with almost no privacy for some. The grounds are still loose, powdery construction dirt so the sites are very dusty – not much fun to pitch a tent on. It will take a few years of pine needles and natural compacting for that to improve. They are still doing daily work in the campground clearing trees and grading. The slips/driveways are short and almost all of them not level. Some have pretty extreme grades, so be careful when booking if you don't want to have to severely level out your RV or car.

Terrible. Super busy. Everyone is loud and annoying. Campsites are right on top of each other. No privacy at all! Don’t waste your time. The only thing it has going for it is that it’s in

Crane “flat” campground - anything but flat! Would not recommend if you have an RV. Note there is also no service, wifi, or sani dump facilities - all which you would expect at the price point.

Nice location for camping. Easy and quick access to the restrooms. Dog friendly campgrounds. You will find a gas station very close to the campsite.

30 minutes from the valley, spacious campsites and, quite hours are followed which was good and bad at times
Nearby activities: 30 minutes drive from Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows in opposite directions
Safety: Huge bear boxes and and every one is respectful of others tents
Walkability: Parking spot right next to campsite

We ended up at this campsite because we could not get a spot at one of the campsites in the valley. In retrospect, we were very happy with this campsite. It has been completely renovated and everything is virtually new. The pitches are nice and spacious. When we were there it was very hot in the valley, but because this campsite is located on top of the mountain we were able to sleep nice and cool. Toilet is fine and neat. There is no shower. There is also no electricity, so bring a flashlight. We also saw the campsite in the valley and thought our campsite was much more spacious and beautiful. If you want to go to the valley, you have to go in time to get a parking spot. The campground does not have a dump station, but you can use the dump station at Upper Pines in the valley for free.
You have to be quick because they only have a very limited number of camper spots that are only released 2 weeks in advance.

Pros:
30 min drive from Yosemity valley
Clean restrooms with sinks (no lines)
Bear box + table + firepit+enough space for a 6-people tent
Friendly service at the check-in
Partly surrounded by trees (site 523)
Connection 1-2 bars LTE (we needed it for work and were very happy)
Cons:
A bit nosy cause sites are close to each other (we heard bear boxes and car doors being shut at night)
Some sites are looking at the road and have very few trees (it doesn't feel cozy)
Sites don’t feel secluded
A lot of crows, they woke us up in the morning
No shower
No electricity in the restrooms (you need to use a headlight)
Tight parking space

This camp area is elevated, has cleaner toilet and washing amenities and easily accessible.
It has a dedicated bench, fire pit and bear box(to keep all food supplies) . Has enough space to park RV and tents. Quiet and peaceful. Bring your own firewood and cooking supplies and equipment.keep your area clean so that no bears are attracted

Washrooms are clean and good campground. This is near to Yosemite Valley. Crane Flat Campground offers a great camping experience with well-maintained facilities and a convenient location close to Yosemite's main attractions. Highly recommended for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
