I started out with my account with this bank in San Rafael. The people are always nice at all the branches. Unfortunately when i moved to the coast i found out how limited this bank is. Their online services are poor. My local branch in Gualala was only open 9-4 Monday to Thursday and 9-5 on Friday with no Saturday hours. They have now cut their branch hours to 9-4 on Friday. This shows you how little they care about access for their customers in my town. They expect me to take time off work to go to the bank. This is why I have switched most of my accounts to Wells Fargo! Their online banking is great. Next stop Redwood credit in Point Arena.Saving one hour a week has cost you a customer.

I will NEVER recommend this specific bank in Gualala Ca to anyone ever. I only had been banking through this bank for about a month and a half and just closed both banking accounts yesterday. The general manager KATIE that I would always deal with closed them out for me. She would usually be nice whenever I'd come in but yesterday when I closed my bank accounts...due to the fact that there's always an issue with this bank and my banking cards, an issue with their ATMs or someone is always calling out at this location when I need to go in person, KATIE asked me why I was closing the accounts and I simply said, "just because". When this transaction was completed and I turn to walk away KATIE then proceeds to call me a Dyke under her breath. I couldn't believe it, I still can't. I just ignored her disgusting slur and left. These are small town people who feel like they can treat people they don't know (I'm from here, my entire family is from here little does she know) and get away with it. I asked to speak to her manager and conveniently she's on vacation. Do not bank at this location or this bank, there are so many other options and hopefully you will never have to go through what I just went through.

I had a similar circumstance as the person who posted the review three years ago. This summer, 2020, I needed cash to pay a local contractor. The tellers were not only not helpful but bordered on rude. So my husband and I each had to withdraw cash from the ATM over two days and could only get 20's. I went into bank again on the second day and asked for hundreds instead of having to pay the contractor all in 20's. Again, they were unpleasant and said they could only give me a limited amount each time I came in. I suppose, we could've both gone out after receiving the paltry amount and then come back in and requested some more. Going out again and come back and requested more. How ridiculous! Now we are moving to Sea Ranch and I figured that my only choice for a bank was West America. When I mentioned that to a local friend from the area, she told me that would be a mistake and that I would be better off using Redwood Credit Union. The employees of West America Bank just figured I was some tourist and it wasn't necessary to treat me well. Now we are going to live in the area and their bank will miss out on our business.

It isn't my bank, but being the only bank in town, it's where I go when I need a roll of quarters for the laundromat. Friendly service.
