Food from hot deli is good when they are fresh, but most staffs seem quite impatient. They (the Taiwanese women) would stare at you if you cannot decide which dish to buy immediately. I once asked what time they provide lunch at 8:30am, the Taiwanese aged woman treated me as if I am a troublemaker. I only asked one question, she start abusing me as I have annoyed her for 100 times: "How can I know when the kitchen is ready?! You got to know It's not under my control ....They haven't even cooked the first dish, can you see?.... Come on, now it's breakfast time, Okay?!" I had to order breakfast. Just when I ask if they provide service for heating up the Chinese donut (which is common in many other foods service providers in some other businesses around the world, especially on a cold winter morning like this day), she completely lost her patience: "The donut is already hard (means it's cold), what can I do about it?!" (Well, I know I can heat them up in oven at home, doesn't she know?) She acted and talked exactly like some of those rude staffs work in breakfast stores in Taiwan (one of them ordered me to sit down, just because I watched them deep fry Chinese donuts due to curiosity), as if she had never learned the manner in western countries. After paying for my breakfast, I asked her what I have done wrong so that she treated me so badly. (After all, I am just a custom who like their lunch boxes too much. Why should I pay them every day and let them insult me? You know, you have to take the risk every time you go to their hot food deli. If they look at you as if you are not welcome -that you have bothered them, you just have to swallow their unfriendly manner and enjoy your meal!) She simply walked into the kitchen. Her co-workers came to ask what happened. One of them (a young one) stared at me with her usual cold look - she always gave me an impression that she is the doctor and we customers are patients - that there is always something wrong with us. Another co-worker talks like a manager, apologizing, telling me that lunch starts at 10:30am. She is polite and she talks professionally, but I can see these co-workers are trying to cover up for each other. This terrible experience reminds me of those very rude Taiwanese older generation (especially women). It seems to me this is part of the culture that many Taiwanese still do not realize "if you cannot restrain bad temper, you shouldn't serve customers". I wonder if the management of this business understand that. I don't think many of them take this seriously at all. From on-line discussions I found that many Taiwanese firmly believe they can treat customers rudely if they think a customer is "not good". From my experience travelling in Taiwan, it really surprised me how much Taiwanese tolerant those who verbally abuse others. Even kind/polite Taiwanese allow those jerks (mostly old women) bullying everyone. The whole community seems so afraid of those bullies that they even see challengers as "troublemakers" - as if whoever point out this problem is challenging their "taboo".

This review is for customer service only. Pretty rude. I was in the middle of asking a question and they just walked away.

Wednesday special crab for $8 per pound. This is a good price. In the old days it was $6 per pound, but never again. I have seen them at $20 per pound. If you eat out, expect over $30 per crab. If not, $40. The only way to dine at a reasonable price is DIY. I made onion/ ginger crab. A standard and all time favorite....

This location is pretty big, bright, and well organized! Not to mention, its right across the street from 99 Ranch, and I personally prefer this supermarket over that location specifically, because they have way much more variety to choose from and much better pricing! Lots of meats, seafoods, veggies, condiments, snacks, you name it! I found filet mignon for half the price of 99! And lots of deals going on. And its never packed! And giant parking lot! What could be better than an easy and quick grocery shopping experience?

168 market is NOt the best with freshness of many things, nor is it the best with customer service as well. Very rude & they continuously follow you around, though trying to not make it obvious. The section of different hot foods , is always very very dry & no taste what so ever. It's first come first serve type of ordeal. Most vegetables are always almost about to go old when you buy them... The 99 ranch market has MUCH BETTER produce, fruits, & vegetables that last longer. The small little bakery that is inside this market Is almost always never busy and I understand why after purchasing multiple different teas.

168-market has a great selection of herbal and traditional Chinese teas. The choice of high-grade teas was impressive for a supermarket, and I'm glad I stopped by to purchase some. Parking: plenty. Equally impressive is their pastry bar and deli, where one can enjoy signature pastries. One can either sit down and enjoy a lovely tea or coffee or take it home. The smells inside the store weren't so pleasant, but there was one gem that was a little restaurant called Lucky Thai street food that I highly enjoyed as I tried it. I will shop here again because I loved their tea selection and desserts. So cute how some of their candy comes in plastic animal containers like tigers, lions, and bears. Oh My! Service was good because the cashier was super friendly and welcoming, as well as the restaurant's host. Reasonable prices and an excellent selection of fruit.

Note to self: Not so safe and a racist store. Need to plan extra time exiting/at the entrance for receipt checking.Just sharing my side of story:Stopped coming here for quite some time because the food station is not as good as it used to be; the nice old lady no longer works there, and all others are rude and doesn't seem to care for your business. The quality of their produce is not so good (could be because I can only come after work hours); bad smells especially near the meat department; overall just not as competitive as other markets. Last but not the least, I really don’t like the “new” practices of checking recipes at the door. >> I noticed not everyone is checked; guys and tough people are usually get passed off, and for some reason I'm always picked--this”random check system” really bothers me, and it is extremely inconvenient when I'm on the run. This checking system doesn't make much sense to me — either you check everyone, or check with a consistency, like using odd or even numbers, or a somewhat fair system, instead of picking an easy target.I can't believe I forgot about this and actually recommended it to my uncle and auntie to shop here after eating in the plaza. So the same thing happened again. We were stopped at the door and a medium built guy and his wife were let go. So I asked the server why they weren't checked. The couple (who were let go) all the sudden became raging and were speaking and acting violently even though I wasn't speaking to them. Maybe they're a regular and though they are entitled to the special treatment. I could be wrong, but I can't help but think it's because my auntie and uncle are old and small in size.Needless to say, I will not return here again. For those who plan to come, just remember to add extra time at the entrance. And always have your phone ready to make a 911 call.

They have ample variety of Asian goods. Price is reasonable. The store as a whole is clean. The staff are good -some friendlier than others but overall good. I love their hotfood area and bakery. Bought their cakes several times for birthday celebrations. The cakes are reasonably priced and taste very good and light. Bought the mango cake with fresh fruits on top.

Lots of things can found here, good place to shop, only not so easy to buy a Chinese newspaper you want, doldrums out, specially on Sunday.
