Loved the Christmas in Oz show but do suggest they consider using microphones for their actors and improve their audio. Hard to hear the characters talking and lots of static on audio system.

I came to town on vacation and bought a ticket to see Christmas in Oz. I will definitely try so see another show here next time I'm in town. The venue is a little older but it's comfortable. There is plenty of parking on site and on the street. Come early for beverages and snacks before the show. They have friendly staff, talented performers, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Good, comfortable, raked seating. Great little theater with good selection of shows and kids' programs.

I live in Pennsylvania, but I travel to Half Moon Bay, CA, every chance I get. I love it there. I have seen at least 7-8 productions at CRT over the years. There is SO much talent on that stage and behind the scenes! The whole theatre community at CRT is wonderful! From the welcome at the front door to the lobby, the lobby bar, the ushers, the actors, the sets, costumes, make up, lighting, etc! WOW! I’ve seen this theatre grow over the last few decades. Impressive!

If I could leave zero stars I would. I sat through half of the Angels in America Play on July 2nd, 2022 (7:30pm showing). The play itself was well done until the cast lit and smoked a cigarette onstage for an extended period of time.I’m 7 months pregnant and the room was not ventilated, forcing me to inhale second hand smoke. I am still in shock. I was not able to leave the theatre before the smoke reached me. Had there been prior warning I would not have attended. The safety of myself and my child was completely disregarded. Beyond disappointed.

Inconsistent Covid mask policy makes the experience miserable, whether you are pro-mask or anti-mask. The rules are: 1) if your mouth is open because you are eating/drinking/talking/shouting/spraying aerosols) you don't have to wear a mask and 2) if your mouth is closed because you are watching a play then you are required to wear a mask. The entire audience is checked for full vaccination status before entering the building and must wear a mask in the hallway for the few steps before entering the refreshment room. In the small refreshment room, you don't need a mask before the show or during the 2 intermissions. When you enter the much larger theater room you must again wear a mask, explained as protecting the actors, who are so far away you can't hear them. The unmasked MC and actors (shouting and spraying aerosols to compensate for their long distance from the audience) oddly enough don't have to wear masks, because they are vaccinated. But the entire audience (required to wear masks) was just confirmed to be fully vaccinated also. "Scientifically Illiterate and Devoid of Logic" is a play I'm writing about Coastal Rep.
